  • I have made the STL file of the 3D printed titanium insert available for download at:
    www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-mod...
    This saves shipping and keeps frames out of landfill.
    NOTE: This is not a simple DIY repair and needs to be done by people familiar with structural composite repair. If you download this, you accept all risks associated with this repair.
    On this channel we show marketing free, real information about the bikes that you ride.

    A note of caution to Raoul.
    Make sure you can't be held legally liable by some schmuck after a butchered installation.

      Unlikely, you aren't talking big $ with this, I would think the owner would be more p*ssed with Cannondale than the guy who tried to help them repair it for free.

    Raoul, have you ever considered making your own custom made to order, road and XC frames or even parts? Considering the knowledge you have given us about carbon construction and quality control, many people would gladly pay a premium for it

    do you use grease or carbon paste when you insert the headset bearing on the frame headtube if you are on carbon frame?

    • @yonglingng5640
      @yonglingng5640 2 роки тому

      Grease. You want to create a water-resistant barrier for the outer race. Carbon paste is for when you don't want components to slip, such as seatposts and handlebars.
      The only carbon part that doesn't need carbon paste is the steerer tube.

    It's a Cannondale, just toss it in the landfill and buy another bike, preferably a different brand.

      @@LuescherTeknik Unfortunately the bike industry doesn't agree with you. Bikes produced today are going to be obsolete in about five years because they keep designing new designs, try getting a part when your bike needs it then. You will most likely be forced to buy a new bike. Maybe Specialized is seeing this already which is why the development of the Aethos and them using the traditional stem, seatpost, and bottom brackets in their marketing. They pulled a sneaky on everyone but it's for the better. You don't have to educate me about waste, I will never own a carbon bike again. I had a custom titanium bike made and there is no carbon aside from the ENVE fork used on it. I strictly chose the components to build it based on not wanting to use carbon and only made in the USA as much as possible. It should last me a lifetime.

    • @LuescherTeknik
      @LuescherTeknik  2 роки тому +1

      I know they don't, but I don't have to agree with them either ;) I can still do my best to change the attitudes of people, because in simple terms if people stop buying rubbish, they will stop making rubbish, capitalism 101.
      You do realise however that the fork is the most fracture critical item on a bike and your ENVE carbon fork is made in Asia like almost all of the other carbon parts. I hope you are right in that it lasts a lifetime :)

      @@LuescherTeknik Thanks for reminding me that my fork is the weak spot. Tell me where I can buy a titanium fork that looks as nice and I'll buy it. Also getting people to stop buying rubbish has been a mission of mine since I started on UA-cam. But I get a lot of flak and called out for trolling all the time. It won't stop me though. The brands pay these UA-cam review channels to spew their marketing BS. Advertising is something I don't believe UA-cam should be used for. Honest reviews are the reason I subscribe to channels like yours and not theirs.
