Amazing analysis! Kazue Kato is my favorite mangaka, I really love her art and how she use colors. I learn so many things about color theory just by studying her art. Her character design and how they really differs is top notch. Especially since the story is focused on character development, the expression range and the details that goes to each character makes them feels really alive. The paneling is amazing as well, she really knows how to make things simple yet detailed at the same time. She also is very good at putting (and hiding) foreshadow and important details in the plain sight lol. I'll never get tired of rereading Blue Exorcist since I'll always notice something new and her art is just so damn good to look at. Anyway, I really enjoyed your videos and analysis! Can't wait to see more!
YESSSSS awesome vid, man, and I was looking for something like this! :D Glad I found this (Kazue Kato's art is *chef's kiss*) also I don't know if I missed it, but for some people, maybe put a spoiler warning lol - I'm up to date with the manga, but others might not be :o
Thank you for all these videos going in depth into the great manga artist. I am a traditional American comicbook artist and have been exploring the manga style and introducing it into my current work. This exposure you are giving is a great help.
For me she did the D Gray Man school right, beautiful colors and character designs more focused on style and clarity and she takes everything I said and plays with it in short it's colorful is wonderful black and white not so much for me I think D Gray, Noragami and Oh Great's art better in black and white, not that it's bad, it's just my preference.
