- This episode of Match Game 75 is a classic. This episode features the German version of Match Game. There is no word for BLANK in German. Instead of saying BLANK, they said Schnick Schnack.
Bobby Van, Brett Somers, Charles Nelson Reilly, Sarah Kennedy, Richard Dawson, and Betty White.
This is by far my favorite episode of Match Game. I am German-American.
Watch "Schnickschnack (German Match Game). David Letterman. I'm from Germany. We loved "Schnickschnack" and in the 90s "Punkt Punkt Punkt" (also Match Game).
This episode of Match Game shows Sarah Kennedy to be sweet, extremely attractive, and not the least bit loud, strident, self-centered or jaded. What an incredibly appealing person she is.

It just makes me so sad that at least 75% of the people in this episode are dead... Thank you, Richard, Gene, Brett, Johnny, Charles, Brett, and Bobby for being amazing human beings in this crazy world. I wouldn't be who I am without you.
You can tell Gene was not up on the the '70's scene when he didn't know who David Bowie was.

Thankfully Sarah Kennedy is still alive with us today. Too many on Match Game and Other TV Shows in the 1970s are no longer with us today.

Sarah was a regular on "Laugh-In" during Season 6, its last season, 1972-73. This MG episode, then, was only 2 years after she'd been on the series. As far as I can tell, based on my recent research, this is the same lady. Of course, I may be wrong.

Richard Dawson was really good. Being an actor and knowing the contestant was studying acting I would have bet he would go with Type Cast. But he knew to take the more broad answer of Typewriter.

@@pamhowden8161 "Schnickschnack" also sounds in german funny. But it doesn't mean the same like "blank". It means "things you don't need". Later they called the show "Punkt Punkt Punkt". That means "blank" or "fill in". I think you speak german.

For those of you who say Richard wasn’t a good player how he somehow knew to write “writer” instead of “cast “ is why he was a master of the game. He had a good sense of the game.

Richard was a "skirt chaser", until he met a contestant on Match Game. She showed up again on Family Feud (when Richard was hosting it.) They started dating, and eventually MARRIED !! They staid married , and raised their daughter, until Richard died.
This was only 30 years after the end of the war. This could never be on the air today.

For all the people who want to laugh at Gene for pronouncing Bowie as boo-ey, if you can remember your American history, Jim Bowie who invented the Bowie knife, etc., pronounced it that way and it's the way we learned to say it. It's a Scottish surname and I understand that that's the original pronunciation.

Brett. Over a year ago in Match Game time, Charles was late for the show because he was getting his wig "sewn" on (woven in, actually, but he called it sewing). He also said something about having to do that because he had only one wig.

Joyce Builifant once gave an interview and talked about Match Game. She brought up it was in the same area as the Weinstein scandal at a lesser level. She said something like it was very hard for some of the women on Match Game as they did not want to hurt someone's feelings however they did not want someone grabbing them and kissing them. I think it happened a lot on Match Game. On this show it was very creepy on Rayburn's part were he twice touched or groped Sarah during the show. It can not be passed off as being funny or entertaining, just plain creepy.
My God. Comparing Rayburn to Weinstein? Seriously? Kisses are not only a common Hollywood greeting it's quite common when socializing. Rayburn didn't kiss contestants, but Dawson did, after asking them if they were single on national television and sometimes propositioning them, and continued to do it for years on Family Feud. Did you notice the contestant patting Gene on the backside and running to kiss Richard? How can a Puritan like you manage to watch TV or film today?

Creepy? women adored this man left right and center it's because they adored him so much he was able to do what he did on Family Feud.
Dawson was mr. Casanova mr. Don Juan and the prince of Camelot all rolled into one. Remember when the producers told him he couldn't kiss women anymore on the show well 9!0% of the women kept kissing him.
