These GWM keep getting better and better, another generation or two and that'll do the trick!
Indeed, Hearing good things from long term owners. Similar feeling to Toyota in the 70s trying to break into the global car market, beating the USA/UK competition on reliability.
i have been drive steed 3 for 5 years, and never gave me a problem, and it is hundred and thirty nine thousand now . Steed is the best
Nice, still trouble free? How's parts availability?
My steed is 8 yrs old now. No problems engine wish passed its mot no problem. No rust issues. Great vehicle 👌
Good to hear, thanks for the feedback
My 2013 Steed 5 is an even older version and it has served me well over the years. GWM is catching up fast and to all the nay sayers that's all you'll be doing for a very long time!!
I was wondering how the older steeds were holding up, good to hear. Still trouble free? Parts and maintenance, any issues? Thanks for watching.
I have had my Steed 5E Excape for one year now, the ute has no problem...just been running well all way through. The 2.4 Engine is quite good too.....
Thanks for the feedback, good to hear.
Three years down the line my Steed 5E Excape, 2.4 still running. Apart from annual service nothing has broken from this ute. Not regretting having bought this one.....
thanks for the feedback, sounds strong
I'm an owner of the GWM Steed, own till 2012, and it's always the best cheapest 4x4 offroad i have bought, everyday i used my 4x4 to go on mountain & crossing a river and never got problem with it. I live on a mountain in the Mauritius island.
Nice, solid truck.
Africa Sideways Yeah sure it's the best.
wouldn't this ute be for people who need a work horse that's in the cheaper range? why are people complaining and comparing it with the utes that are double in price....
Good point, but its not half the price of an entry level ranger DC, well at least not in South Africa. Good Ute for sure, after sales is still iffy down here. Was impressed to get out sand with only a 4x2.
Steed motor is Mitsubishi, gearbox Aussie, body design by BMW design engineer, built by BMW robotics, electronics same as others, if you want to pay top dollar on other brands to feel like a man that's up to you
It feels like a solid truck, no doubt.
They are better utes than most people know, but to be fair you were pushing the steed on that dirt road for any ute, car etc
Making sure the suspension is up to speed Bazza. Was impressed.
Im watching to see how it handles Africa. If it copes with Africa itll cope with Australia I reckon...
Only time will tell...
Big 6 driving the steed 6 :-)
BanG!
no 4X4 version
Yes there is, but this is RWD.
Diesel version is 4x4
S
S or $?
I rather buy a Volkswagen Amarok because it best then that crap bucky
+KRIS TENGCO Lol, Amarok, that's funny buddy. Thx for watching.
Amarok is a vw gol converted to pick up a total joke for the price
Amarok is a city 4x4, will not stand up to harsh conditions long term.
Ya know what we call them in Australia?
Amacock. Coz thats what the drivers are.
And yeah compare this with something nearly 3x the price. Well done.
friend of mine had an amarok. turbo broke at 60k
"Not fooling me." How can anyone compare this with a Hilux or a Ranger. This cheap chinese junk can't even compete in the dakar. Please check your spelling it is called the 'HILUX'.
thanks dad
until you find "made in china" in most ranger and hilux parts. btw gwm did compete in dakar, under haval brand.
Wow, I bet you have lots of friends!
Haval did not win the Dakar. I still need to see that happen. GWM is still behind BMW and Toyota. When Haval or GWM beats Toyota or BMW, we will have a real argument about what car is the best. Why does Chinese steel break so easily? Surely adding boron to steel, will not improve the quality of steel for any motor vehicle. Very dangerous for passengers on the road.
