  • In this episode, we sit down with Dr. Marat Grinberg, Professor of Russian and Humanities at Reed College. Our conversation covers much ground, including Marat's terrific new book "The Soviet Jewish Bookshelf," which explores Soviet Jewish identity in the post-War era. Through his research and personal experiences growing up, Marat is also an expert on Soviet anti-Zionism. Little did Marat realize that he would become a victim of this type of anti-Semitism on an American college campus, which is supposed to be a safe space for all minorities who have historically suffered persecution.
So join us, as we go into greater depth on the Soviet origins of American left-wing antisemitism, a subject we first explored in Episode 19 with Izabella Tabarovsky.

I hope you folks continue to do episodes on Soviet antizionist histories and its modern antecedents.
