I (Nikki Phillippi) have uploaded a Q&A video, answering 50 questions!! It has been so exciting to share my pregnancy journey with you guys and answer questions you may have, such as my views on homeschooling and a natural birth! I am beyond grateful to be a first time mom, mom to be. As a vlogger, I try to upload week by week of my pregnancy such as at 25 weeks, 26 weeks, and now through my third trimester. I think the issues people have with stay at home mum life, is that it played a part in in entrenched inequalities between men and women, and has created expectations that carry through generations. Obviously newborn babies are dependant on their mother for survival, but due to mostly religion and a lot of other historical issues, it subjugated women into these roles where they didn’t have a voice outside of that role they were ‘designed to play’ as many still believe. I think it’s important to acknowledge that, but that’s typically and hopefully historical now and no longer the case in our progressive world
In my opinion, the value of life between a man and a woman is equal, but there are many ways we are not the same- so I don’t consider us equal when it comes to our dispositions. I think gender is a factor in specific roles, and that there are things I cannot do or feel because I am a woman. I am 100% my own person, and no man in this world can complete me, yet, this world still needs both sexes to emulate its greatness. 💭

I really vibed with "faking it till you make it" in situations when you're not feeling a certain way. Sometimes we need to put in a little more effort to be the person we want to be rather than how we're feeling that day, and that okay! It's all in the journey of becoming better human beings. I'm glad you were super honest about feeling that way sometimes!

I am SUCH a “I need to have a plan for everything” kind of person and it’s honestly so refreshing hearing how laid back you are about everything! Sometimes I feel like I need to be more like that! Always needing a plan and then having to change plans is super stressful 😂
Ya I think my plans have just been smashed so many times I’ve had to learn to go with the flow to a degree! It certainly makes things easier 😭😭😭

First of all, I love your rambling and being thurough with your questions!!
Also, I feel like out thought process is so similar!! I'm not a Mom yet, (hopefuly someday!), but I feel like that's exactly how I would think of things as well!
And btw, I don't like coffee either :)
I loved learning more about you even though I am a long time follower. I highly advise cherishing all the baby snuggles, accepting help (even if it is not your way of doing something), and rest after baby is born. I have a 2 month old and it is a new kind of tired being a parent. Do not feel bad if breastfeeding does not work out all that matters is baby is fed. Bonus if you sometimes use formula Dan, grandparents/family can feed the baby so you can rest or eat with both hands. I do not have a theme for baby's room or have it completely put together. Crib was ready, comfy chair, newborn onesies ready, and changing area ready. All that baby cares about is love, being fed, and a clean diaper. Prayers for a healthy and happy rest of your pregnancy and delivery/post delivery.

You should listen to the song called “Life Changes” by Thomas Rhett. One of the main lines is “you make your plans and you hear God laughing...” and talks about how life happens and insinuates that only He knows what is and isn’t meant for you, so you have to go with the flow and be aware that plans don’t always pan out. I relate to that lyric so much. It’s my favorite. Also the song talks about planning an adoption and having a biological kid too so it’s kind of a similar situation to yours. I think you’d enjoy listening to it. It’s a country song. 💛🧡❤️

You show so much maturity and wisdom
Being a stay at home mom is a blessing and a luxury. Obviously some women aren’t able to stay at home, but if you can, then it’s not a small thing. Some people say “but women have to work” or “women should try to have it all”, but if you’re able to be a stay at home mom and find balance, then I don’t think women should focus on external pressures or other people’s judgements. My mom was a stay at home mom and she enjoyed it even with some other people judging her for it. I loved it and I feel like it really impacted how I turned out. I grew up with plenty of attention and feeling secure, and it’s only now when I really appreciate that she spent so much time with me. It really is a blessing to get to be super involved in raising your children.
I love the talk about appreciating the little things and Zoe was like “I’m little. don’t forget about me!” 😂😂😂 Cuteness ☺️👍🏻
Not sure if you already have this video, but would you be willing to do a video on (your) spirituality and your philosophies on it? I’d find that super interesting and enlightening!

I am preparing to become a mom and I want to thank you for talking so openly about things that scare you. 'Like messing things up'. Cause I feel the same way. My youth wasn't easy and I feel like all my family members are traumatised by something. I don't want that to happen to my kid(s), so I feel like I am never ready to become a mom because I will make mistakes and might 'mess things up' for them. Now I realise that it's just life and I just have to do the best that I can.

Nikki, we thought the same way about nursery decor & toys - neutral, nothing cheesy/commercialized. But...just you wait :-) Your little sweet boy will show his interests and your sweet Mommy heart will melt when his eyes light up after seeing something cartoony. And you'll buy the stuff for him because you love to see him smile :-) I have done so many things I thought I'd never do as a Mommy...I enjoyed hearing your answers to these questions!

We're naming our baby Grey or Fletcher. Not sure which one we want as the first or middle name yet but those are the names were going with! We aren't telling anyone until he's born in a few months though! You motivate me to be healthier while being pregnant! Love your videos!

Let me tell you something!! I thought the whole uncomfortable part of being pregnant was my stomach growing.. until my son flipped a couple days ago. Now it’s a different kind of uncomfortable. Dont be concerned if the baby flips and all of a sudden you feel like you’ve been riding a bike for days. And pressure. Pelvic soreness, pressure and pain.

I also don’t like coffee or alcohol, and people also say the “you just haven’t had the right drink” thing to me- my thought is if it’s not great for me and I don’t like it, why would I try to get myself to like it? I know so many people who don’t have drinking issues and yet if I ask them if they could not like alcohol, they say yes! So I’m calling it a little win 😊

Don't feel pressured to share the footage of your labor - just do what feels right for YOU and your family. I think just because that has become a "trend" among youtubers, no one should feel pressured to follow along, just to please their audiences.

Do you have a belly band? It supports the weight of your belly and helps take the pressure off your back. I highly recommend one! Just look up "belly band pregnancy". Amazon has tons
