Overnight Camping Test of the Hercules Hot Tent - Turns Out It's Tough In The Cold!

- There is a big snow storm in the forecast for tonight, so I am doing an overnight test of my hot tent. I am using the Luxe Outdoors Hercules hot tent with the Pomoly T1 Ultra titanium wood stove. For my sleep setup, I am using an Exped sleeping pad with an 8.5 R rating with my REI Magma 30. The forecast is calling for 2-5 inches of snow, so time to hunker down!

I don't run my stove all night either. I load it up and let it burn out. I use the exped mega mat which is rated to -45. In my Hercules I use the Winnerwell Nomad size medium. At full board you can get the Hercules to 100 degrees, especially if you use a hot tent fan. I'd seriously recommend getting a hot tent fan for this tent as it circulates the air and makes the tent temperature more even.
Thanks for the tips!! I do have a wood stove fan, works pretty well. Do you use a cot? I’m thinking of getting one to get up off the ground
I have the helio cot. Pricey but def worth the comfort and added warmth being off the ground

Double up on sleeping bag or add a wool blanket to set up. What I have done in the past
How are you liking the Hercules. I've had mine going on 3x seasons now and it's great! I use a -30 sleeping bag, but I'm up here in the Northwoods of Wisconsin and it's been 0 or below most nights since Xmas.
I’m really loving it! It’s such a nice tent and I love how much room there is. So much more room than the Megahorn teepee tent from luxe. I need to get a warmer bag for sure. We go to Eagle River all the time, it gets super cold up there!!

Hi Jenny, I have the exact same setup. I have the exact same stove, the Hercules tent and even down to the buddy heater and carbon monoxide detector. I’ve done a few outings and had good experiences. Your sleep wear is huge in regard to keeping warm.

@@AdventuresinJennyland something has happened to them this year, it could be covid related idk but I'm pretty sure I will not be getting a refund for an order that never shipped. I started looking at more recent reviews and I am certainly not the first one to have trouble. It's all the same across the board
