Una de mis mejores experiencias ver éste video comiendo palomitas en mi cama con mucho frió y viviendo también ésta experiencia fuera de mi comodidad mé encantó
This reminds me very much of Colorado mountain winter camping in my old VW camper van. I was in an unprotected area and the winds of a 2 day snowstorm blew so hard for so long that when it was over my engine compartment was packed solid with snow, and I had to spend nearly an hour digging out the engine compartment before I could drive the 50 yards back to the highway. The drive itself was very easy because the wind had blown the ground almost completely bare of snow. After that I carried cardboard to duct tape over the vents in the engine compartment. Yes, the rig had been physically rocking during the storm. Colorado winds can be brutal. A micro-bus with chains on is amazing in snow, with enormous ground clearance, and the engine weight over the drive wheels.
Experienced this as I live in rural Minnesota. Our winters are legendary. Yet, it seems that the 60s and 70s were the most memorable. Snow Drifts as high as the roof of our house. January 1975 we ere hit three times. Pictures of Dad making a path from house to barn shows the drift dwarfed the tractor. Spring sun made quick work of snow. Lots of Ducks and Geese spent time in the swamp .Made rafts and used fallen branches to move our creation.
Just breathtakingly beautiful. The pure sounds, the snow, the coziness of the cute van. So relaxing, just to watch. Makes me want to be there. Perfect!
And that van will survive a CME OR A EMP ,( no modern computer or and chips . Would only nead to replace some them fuses. It don't even have fuseable links in the wiring . Simple is the best way .
LOVED the shots of your van from outside as it was growing dark. Just a cheerful little VW van sitting in a parking lot with those lights on inside. It inspires one to ponder the possibilities...
One might meditate to this and then you went “SLAP! Snow! Get off these branches! SLAP!” and I laughed aloud. Just a calm, joyous celebration with a pleasing amount of chocolate goodies and wonderful shots of your van. Yay! Thank you.

I love how this guy is going into harsh conditions with equipment that isn't the best but gets the job done. Other UA-camrs that make similar content always use high end vehicles and the equipment used is overkill. This is real overlanding/camping!
@@realtalk37851 there's all sorts of ways to improvise, for example instead of expensive -30 bag, two cheap 0 degree bags do the trick, especially if you're wearing layers inside as well
Having been on the other side of this scenario, I'd like to see fewer of these type videos posted. It encourages poorly prepared, inexperienced folks to go into these situations over confident. That's where I have to get involved with search and rescue teams putting us in danger. If you feel the need to do this, test the equipment in your back yard before putting yourself in a situation where your poor decision puts others at risk trying to save you.
I owned and camped in one of these 20 years ago in Northern Canada as a forester; very difficult to start in the cold, even more difficult to steer and control. I often had to place a coleman stove under the oil pan to warm the engine up in order to start it- made for scary times in the frozen wilderness- still cool though!
That little stove is amazing. Would absolutely love to have that in a camper van. Imagine sitting next to it reading a book and listening to the wind and rain outside 😁

Wouldn't it be great if someone invented camper vans with an insulated FLOOR, to keep them SNUG? I once went to a freezing (but no snow!) music festival, in September, in England, and although my girlfriend and I were IN THE CAR, and not ON THE GROUND, lying on plastic sheeting like other festival goers, we were still freezing.
I think our friend who owns this van could invest in some of those insulated silver curtain things they make for such vehicles. Even if they MAY not make it warmer, they would make it look cosy!
@@nygelmiller5293 Wow, if y'all were cold in the car, imagine how cold the ppl on the ground must've been! Thats crazy! I like this guys little tiny furnace, but it looks like he has to put a new piece of wood in it every 10 minutes or so. Its hard to tell how often bc I know the videos are edited and stuff, but I'm really curious just how often he has to add the fresh wood. I mean, it's not like throwing in a tiny piece of wood is difficult, but it'd be nice if he had something that burned longer without having to keep an eye on it so often, u know?

He is in a park next to an apparent public loo, with picnic tables and somebody else's excited pooch running through in the morning. He came well prepared with food, wine, and cooking equipment. Great video. No annoying music or lots of nonsense spoken. Really love the little wood stove. Guess it was capable of keeping it nice and warm and cooking uncomplicated. food on it. I am from Tromsø about 600 km further north than the Arctic Circle. For us, snow storm means something completely different. We call that in the video snowy weather. You should make a video about sleeping in a snow cave. It can also be very comfortable if you do everything right. Keep up your good work.
Funny, coz I had a complete different thought!!! Cozy in winter for me means warmth! And having watched this I thought „well, at least no carbon dioxid issues in this crappy isolated old T2 van with all these open fireplaces“ and I say this with the utmost respect, as a German who surely appreciates that oldtimer! And cozy (in regards of warmth) wasn’t my first thoughts when I saw this. 😂 Nevertheless, I liked it! Take care.
Я дальнобой и зимой унас в РФ каждый день каждый рей приключение И растояние не то что ваши 1000км и европа кончилась И нечего все нормально все хорошо По всей стране грузы тоскаю 😂
I stumbled on this video started watching and couldn't stop until it quit...nothing more beautiful serene and peaceful as falling snow! Thanks for sharing...I am hungry, too 😁
Winter, beautiful landscape, iconic car, silence, peace... like in a fairy tale. Great idea with this wood stove, a cheap and effective way to heat. Great.👍😃👋🇵🇱
I enjoyed this. It was always relaxing for me driving a semi truck, being stuck up north in the snow and living similar to this. I had my TV on the truck, internet, a ps4, computer, Keurig. It was nice. Away from everybody. Alone time.
My husband actually went through this once. He was a traveling salesman in a caravan of other salesmen passing through the mountains and they got caught in a snowstorm and had to stop for the night. Visibility was so bad that they had unknowingly stopped right before the whole caravan went off a cliff. They survived by huddling together for warmth in a few of the vans.
I got a beginner question lol, doesn’t cooking with a small wood stove like in the video cause a carbon monoxide hazard? Will it be more safer to open the car window somewhat to allow better ventilation?
This video was so smooth and soothing . I just can’t picture myself cooking a steak in a van. First of all steak 🥩 is best cooked at a medium high flame to lock in the juices a nice coating of Montreal steak seasoning, little bit of sea salt and olive oil.. oooohhh weeee! The entire ceiling would be black and hot olive oil splatter would be everywhere. Windows, my face, hair. Then what do I do with all this stuff . Frying pan, chopping board , knife fork , tons of napkins I used to wipe the grease from everything , the loose fat from that tasty steak… guess I could put it all in a plastic bag and throw it out … Uh oh… stomach’s rumbling.. I used all the napkins… 😮
Love the silence of this video without the voice but just the simple sounds. I am not a fan of people talking a lot and making videos ' It takes away that serene feeling. Love your small wood burning fire place and the whole experience. Thank you for this peaceful video.
@@awoodward37 You mean CO; carbon monoxide, not CO2; carbon dioxide. That stove has a little vent that goes to the roof so as long as it doesn't get clogged, he should be fine.

THE most seasoned steak in existence lol. Great video, very cozy and super “up close” if you understand what I mean. I’ve had this experience to a point in a friend’s cabin out VERY deep into the northern American woods and there’s nothing like being warm and secluded in the middle of a snowstorm. It’s just you and nature and whatever you choose to bring with you.
my folks had a '77 Kombi, no middle seat and fold out bed in the bad. We went all over in that thing, including snow chains. We didn't have an LED light bar, but did have the spare mounted on the nose so you could use it to push stuff. I do like the twin swing side doors instead of the slider we had. Nice vid - thank you.
As a Canadian, I love the winter weather and I am looking forward to its fast approaching season. Something soothing about the cold, dark and quiet that I just love. As brutal as it can be to survive. Excellent video, and thanks for including us in your adventure 👍
I love it how people who live in shitty dark damp places try to convince themselves that they are better than Spain, Greece, Portugal, South France, Italy, etc. 😂
So peaceful and soothing( the snow). Major props to the human and his expertise in surviving the harsh weather conditions. Amazed at him cooking a full meal in a VW, it looked so delicious. I even love the yellow miniature replica of the van on the dash board. Awesome!
I had a 1968 Volkswagen pop top Camper van just like that. Mine was blue. It was my wife and I favorite car. We bought it in pristine condition from an old couple in the seventies. The pop up top made it sleep 6. it had a built in refrigerator and sink with running water powered by hand pump. It had110 outlets. It was all professionally done new. I had the engine worked on and it never ran right again but it would have been easily worth it to replacing the engine. They were notorious for not getting enough air in the side scoops to keep the engine cool enough. It ran beautiful until it took a crap. I'd buy it back in a second. When you get that special car never sell it.
So I'm half-way through this and have so many questions but decide to follow my smiles as they are expanding...the more I watch the more I appreciate the deliberateness and patience...and the cuisine. I'm at the end now and thankful for your sharing this video! I am still smiling broadly at your adventure! Well done!!
Beautiful. I love proper cold crisp snowy winters. Sadly here in Southern England, snow is becoming a very rare sight. Not even very many nice crisp frosty mornings anymore. Just long dark damp unnaturally mild winters 😟.
He has ruined planet Earth all that meat spits out fat. and the wood fire and gas, soot/carbon - your van, clothes, bedding, hair... will be filthy/stained with grease build up....also blackened roof, walls etc in no time; better to at least cook your meat with a lid on it to stop the grease spatter
Sitting here watching you feed that tiny little stove with the snow falling all around you and the wind whistling, makes me feel so COLD and here I am in Nashville, Tennessee, in September and the temperature is currently 68 degrees! I KNOW I'm not cold, but I feel the urge to turn on my heater! Great video! I just subscribed.

its not really cold. i lived in my own van through -15 grad. and even then you can get warm. its getting interesting when your breath builds iceflowers on the inside of the windows. whish i had gotten that little ofen then. but... a few candles do a good job in such a small room.
So beautiful. Also reminds me that winter dugout/camping/hot-tenting will start in a few months, even earlier for our far north above the arctic circle channels. These are my favorites
Our son left Indiana one winter. He was moving from there to Nebraska about halfway there he got into a blizzard. He pulled into a parking lot and fell asleep. When he woke up he had been 10 (or more) feet from a gas station and a place to get food and coffee. He didn't even know it the night before.

Same. They're so relaxing.
Making a PROPER meal, I see! Commendable!

Frying pan, chopping board , knife fork , tons of napkins I used to wipe the grease from everything , the loose fat from that tasty steak… guess I could put it all in a plastic bag and throw it out …
Uh oh… stomach’s rumbling..
I used all the napkins…
😮

The pop up top made it sleep 6. it had a built in refrigerator and sink with running water powered by hand pump. It had110 outlets. It was all professionally done new. I had the engine worked on and it never ran right again but it would have been easily worth it to replacing the engine. They were notorious for not getting enough air in the side scoops to keep the engine cool enough. It ran beautiful until it took a crap. I'd buy it back in a second.
