What Is the Difference Between Electric Potential Energy and Electric Potential? | Physics in Motion

- We differentiate between the concepts of electric potential energy and electric potential by exploring electric potential energy qualitatively, by looking at a charge between two parallel plates, and by solving for electric potential in an example problem.

This is the best video I've seen thus far! So clear to understand. Thanks
I agreed
I couldn't understand it from my books, this video saved my life 😭
This is the clearest explanation my eyes fell upon. Thanks a TON.
This was all I needed,
Now I get the feel of this topic...
Thanks!.

No problem
Thank
OMG this channel is Awesome! I wonder why this is so less recognized? It is just perfect for learning. Thank you.
I really appreciate this video, this cleared up so much for me. Thank You!
This is actually the best channel.... Which must get lot of recognition..
beautiful video! I think it's way too underrated
I agree, it's way too under-rated... junk out there has high recognition but this tutor has been neglected I must say
this is what we all needed!💬
I think this video must take the UA-cam Nobel about teaching electronics!!! Many BRAVO for the presentation and the structure of the video.
Did this with a 9 year old and we did amazing! Great work at explaining, thank you. :)
This is the bestest explanation ever thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Best video to understand this concept, thank you sir for your help 🙏🏻
Thank you so much for the clear and precise explanation
Amazing video
You are great sir i just watch many videos but this video cleared all my doubts🙏🙏🙏👍👍😁
Thank you sir ☺️. It made all my concepts on electric potential energy clear.
Excellent video,clearly explained.Thank you
Glad it was helpful! Thank you for watching
Congratulations boy. You're a very good teacher! The explanation is quite clear.
Amazing job, you just did here🙏.
You made it so clear 😊 Thank you sir
Omg thanks soo much for making such an amazing video and explaining this topic very nicely
“Unlike other scalar quantities.. like temperature, (electric potential energy) can be positive or negative.” Umm, have you ever heard of negative temperatures? I guess if you are talking Kelvin’s..
Thank you!!! this deserves more appreciation
Nice explained
It's awesome 👍 thanku sir awesome explanation and visualisation
finally i can understand this...amazing job ,thanks!
Best video on this topic so far 😍
I wish you were my teacher. But this fantastic video will have to do. Thank you!
Very clear
Very Useful... Thankyou so much....
Excellent video, very clear and easy to understand. Nice one GPB Ed.
Such a clearly explained video, thank you so much!
great video! very clear and easy to understand. Cheers
amazing explanation! 🙌🏼
Hi Anzar Abbas, at 4:28, you said that the positive charge has the highest PE at the positive plate because it does not want to be there and implying it is attracted by the negative plate. So PE increase as distance increase. But I am confused here as the attraction between positive and negative charge decrease as distance increase just like a magnet. So are you able to explain that to clear my confusion? I have no electrical background so my question may sound silly.
This video was so helpful. Thank you so much!!
I'm so glad I found this video
Def best vid on the topic, thank you mate.
A fully evolved by you sirr
you are amazing thank you for doing this OMG
Thanks! and thanks for watching!
Thanks for the help fam
Thanks a lot.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks a lot !!💗
Thanks for watching!
thank you for the explanation
Really nice explanation ❣️
Wow! Thanks :)
Very helpful....I would recommend everyone to subscribe this channel
V(A) is the energy that can be harnessed at that point A?
Awesome bro👍
OMG I LOVE YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS HELP!!!
super b bro...this wat i want...
Thank you a lot!
awesome
Sir I have 1 explanation for gravitational potential energy, can u check correct . So , 1st basically potential energy means the energy which stored in a body which later can be used. Then , if we place a body in a particular height it have some gravitational potential energy ( because v done some work [ which maybe produced by muscular/chemical energy] ) . So , the chemical energy converted into potential energy . The final thing is gravitational field which i believe its a kind of representation of visualizing how a body reacts to the gravity when it placed in particular point in space . So , gravitational potential means *when the body with mass placed in a gravitational field which got a potential energy because of workdone on it* . Now if I change the word as electric field and charges I call it as electric potential energy . Please tell is there any error or not sir . Because I am also a student
amazing...... thank you!!!!!!
YOU SAVED ME THANKU
E. P in the last example! Should not they both be positive? Cause the field points in the same direction in this specific configuration. If the charges were on same side of point then we could use that but in this case how would ot make sense. Even if we think about it physically the charge at point A is gonna be forced more to move towards a specific charge based on the tyoe of charge we choose.. And obviously we would have to add forces of both the charges to find the force or(electric potential) on charge A
I think we are not considering direction bcz it is a scalar quantity
Amazing
thanks
You're welcome!
There are 2 equations in this video for Electric Potential Energy: PEe = k x q1 x q2 / r. Also PEe = q x E x d. I'm confused...
8:20 The charge refers to what we are considering or the charge around it. Help me please!!!!!!
tysm
TLDR-Quick and dirty: Electric potential energy- Tells you the energy of all the charges.
Electric potential- tells you the potential of a single charge.
3:20 isn't this the force
I have a exam in 2 hours, thank you for saving my ass
why am i still so damn confused
I am too
did something cleared your mind? because i'm also confused xD
top
y are there only 223 likes on dis vid?
Are you Indian, bro?
Shouldn't it be r² instead of r? (7)²*?
Its not a vector but a scalar
Thanks for your question! The equation for electric potential energy is kq1q2/r. We don't square the 7 since radius in the equation isn't squared. There is an equation in which you would square the 7 but, that would be if you wanted to calculate electric force.
r^2 is for force.
I'm so happy to see he is a MUSLIM
BTW the video was also very helpful
Stop talking with your hands so much
thank you!! 🤧🫶
