this movie didn't make jean feel like the dark Phoenix. it just felt like jean was going through puberty and had daddy issues.
They do the same with Mystique after the new cast as well.

EmpireZz not only that, but they also cut down this movie by 40mins and completely changed the 3rd act which was meant to be a huge battle between Phoenix and the D’bari in the city and then leading into space with a full invasion but apparently it was too similar to “Captain Marvel which was meant to come out after Dark Phoenix until Disney had a say 😤😤😤 can’t believe they sacrificed it

@@thefilmwatcher1302 I mean really it is kinda true you have powerful male characters in the xmen mythos such as juggernaut magneto etc but on average in the comics I always notice the women seem to have more convenient or untouchable power i.e. jean with phoenix, storm in her solo comics where she starts creating auroras and moving tidal waves and shit, magik, scarlet witch reality warping multiple universes, rogue being able to absorb almost any mutants power up to a certain point, etc/
Turnt all day they probably do that because they would lose in a fight if they had the same level of power. I have no clue though. They give the most power to the weirdest people. Like Franklin Richards is a kid but can creat his own realities in a little ball.

I love how Quicksilver got under 3 minutes of screen time but still owned this movie. The only reason I considered watching it was because Quicksilver was in it.

Something about the orginal Dark Phoenix, when she entered her "Dark Phoenix" mode; seemed scarier, cooler and more brutal. When she killed professor x in the floating house will always be one of the most epic xmen scenes.
That was one of the problems of the Last Stand. Dark Phoenix looked to creepy and weird she looks like she’s going full exorcist.
This Dark Pheonix had a more cosmic God vibe, which is much more similar to the comics.
Jung Soojung Even if that’s true, I think most agree that the LS’s depiction made for much better cinematography and story telling than the current one which was just really deus ex machina
Faded most agree with Famke’s acting (which was superb) other than that, a lot of people agree that Dark Phoenix looked weird (cosmetically) in the last stand.
Famke and Rebecca were 1000x better than these new girls, who just whine like bratty teens or something. They seemed to take all the characters that direction (Beast, Cyclops, Storm), like of group of dramatic 8th graders going through puberty.
I still dont understand how did she kill him if he was alive when wolverine's death film took place.
They reduced Storm to something so weak it disgusts me.

Jean Grey is a complicated character, infinitely more powerful than all the other characters, but incredibly vulnerable. It was always going to be hard to write a movie that captures the full range of possibilities that such a character demands. Cool Phoenix at the end though.

I want to think that the problen is the script and not the actress. Hoepfully Disney does a good job at portraying Jean Grey and the others now that they have rights over X-Men.
Just my opinion, but I think Jennifer Lawrence and Sophie Turner were huge steps down from Romajin and Fammke.
Lawrence is the superior actor, but Romajin played the role better. Not to mention that Fammke is WAY prettier than Turner.

Famke's version really did great in making her an intimidating force. She doesn't have to make any hand gestures at all. They even managed to show that she can use both her Telepathy and Telekinesis simultaneously as she was able to know that the soldiers will fire the cure syringes to her in a split second and stop them midair. Only that they haven't shown even a single Firey bird cuz they made it just her alternate ego which is bullsh***.

Say what you want about this film, this and Apocalypse gave us some of the best fight scenes in X-Men history. The train scene, one of the best.

1. I liked the train sequence until she starting flipping and spinning the train for no reason other than the benefit of the setting
2. acting wasn't that great
3. lost ideas of feminism, I mean that scene of her suggesting the change to "x-women" was horribly cringy in every way
4. the movie needed more time or better pacing
5. action wasn't amazing but was acceptable in some ways
6. characters such as quicksilver were underused
7. movie ending was terrible, very uneventful
8. the astronaut scene was bad, took up screentime, and provided no real benefit to the plot; it just kinda set up the whole "dark phoenix" thing. the scene should have been more entertaining at least.
9. writing wasn't that good and they wasted the great actors and actresses.
10. the movie was terrible at keeping the audience engaged with the characters and story, $200 million wasted.

Wow this was one of the largest mega nerfs in movie history, much like thor. In secret wars, the dark phoenix ate stars to power up and then absorbed this entire layer of the multiverse to attack the beyonder. When the attack was shrugged off, everyone and everything was remade.

I didn't actually see the movie, so could anybody please tell me how being impaled was supposed to kill Mystique??? She's a f*cking A+ shapeshifter with a healing factor. An injury like that would have hurt her, even stopped her for the moment, but it would never have killed her! And that's not just one of those "Yeah, but in the movies it's different from what it's like in the comics" things - Mystique already demonstrated her regenerative abilities (I know... not on par with Logan's, but good enough!) in X1 to X2 after being stabbed by Wolverine himself!!!
And why did Magneto bring the metro to the confrontation with Jean??? That made no sense at all!!!
Also, Jean lifting the entire train was cool... but nowhere near "cosmic" in scale. Magneto lifted an entire STADION two movies prior... without breaking a sweat!
The real question is: ¿why Magneto thinks that he can defeat Phoenix-Jean when she already demostrate being more powerful than him (the chopper scene)?
Also, one thing is being stabbed in the side by three "knives" (a minor injury if the claws doesn't touch anything important) and other a impalation that probably cut the aorta (massive internal hemorragy).
Simple. Jennifer Lawrence didn't want to be involved in the movie any longer plus she hated the make up.

That would explain WHY Mystique died, but not HOW she actually did. If the character had to die, why not choose a way that made sense, given Mystiques powers - complete incineration for example would have been a plausible option, it would do the trick, would be quite cinematic, and it would fit the phoenix.

Ikr, those Wanda fans really delusional.. So far if we compare to their peaks in the movies, this Jean outclasses SW easily. Without cast spell, hand spell like witch do, Jean literally can obliterated Wanda just with her mind in minute without getting near to her like damn.. She's immortal
@@cleopatraayourbae I’m actually a Wanda fan myself but I can admit that Jean is stronger. Other than Jean being straightforwardly more powerful, she’s also more unhinged than Wanda. Wanda has always kept some sort of conscious and guilt for her actions, whereas the Phoenix force completely corrupts Jeans beyond her control of right and wrong.
@@kb523 I'm a Wanda fans too, but I'm referring to those fans who delusional. Wanda indeed so powerful, she make Thanos wet his pants (without the stones ofc) but Jean is really in another level, she is cooler, scarier and more brutal.

This movie would have been great and ended the trilogy nicely if it wasn’t so rushed. 20th Century Fox has never been able to do the Dark Phoenix storyline justice. Let’s hope Disney can reboot it and give us a better concept

This movie is alright but I have to say the fight scenes in dark phoinex are pretty badass

I only watch this series for Magneto.. who else is here for same thing.
Magneto is the best, most fleshed out comic book villain on film IMO. Unfortunately with all of this hate for these Fox X-Men movies, created by Disney / Marvel shills and plants, we'll never get a great, in-depth analysis on how awesome he was in these movies
