- Newsbeat reporter Ben Mundy joins a ship rescuing refugees and migrants making the journey from Africa to Europe. Dignity I is owned and operated by international aid charity Médecins Sans Frontières, or Doctors Without Borders. Whilst on board we saw 239 people rescued and transferred to Italy, and heard some of their stories along the way.

the thing i have noticed is that muslims only bother about men's life life but not of women . its really important to notice that these guys instead of defending women and fighting in war leave the country and their sisters for better lives. they dont let their young sisters or wives travel by brainwashing them that the routes are made for strong men and they have the capability to live in europe but they come to europe by saying that our lives are threatened in in our countries it is extremely dangerous to live thas why we came. so if its that dangerous then why did they leave women ? The problem is, that when word gets back that all they have to do is get on a raft and someone will pick them up in a few hours, everyone that is poor is going to try it. Okay so, jobs in Africa are not good i get that. Jobs in Europe and especially in Eastern Europe are extremely terrible right now. You leave your country which is safe ( i mean for the economical refugees ) without any papers,any place to stay,any prospective off doing something and you expect to get there and just live your life like you see in the movies? You are not equally qualified as the European people and that is because these people are born and trained in a European type system all their lifes so in my opinion you will need several years to adapt in these circumstances which the Country of your decission will spent a lot of money into making you another citizen and just put you in the shelf like all the others...what's the point? Europe has a lot of issues right now so i think we should stop the invasion of foreigners and take only as much immigrants as we can support.I think that's a fair deal because it's our countries and we need to look first for the local people and then for the foreigners.

Getting picked up by coastguard does not give them immediate refugee or asylum status, they still need to be processed like the rest. A bit more research is required on your part before you repost headlines from the Daily Mail.

This reminds of the 2nd world war when Europeans were refugees and fleeing in all directions. It is not enough to accept refugees into your country, you must provide housing and jobs, or else you pay the price in the long run. The world today is in a terrible state. There is plenty of money and food in the world but it is not divided fairly. There should be a more concerted effort made to get these failing countries up to a decent standard so these refugees do not have to leave their families. Hope it goes well for them all.

This is so sad what these people have to go through that makes them want to risk their lives like this. Unfortunately, there are others who are migrating to other countries the right way: legally. They should be entering before those who decide to try and get through the back door by entering illegally. It's just not fair. I don't wish any ill-will towards those people but the fair thing to do would be for them to be deported back to their country. Unfortunately that will be at the expense of the tax payer, which also isn't fair.

@@jamiesharpe1375 and how is it arrogant? Maybe you didn't read what I wrote...? I am completely sympathetic to their situation and their desperation is so tragic. I don't for one minute doubt they are amazing people but there are many people in line who are just as desperate and going through the correct avenues of legal entry. These poor people are going through the back door while others are going through the front and those who go through the front have priority when it comes to migration policies...unless they are claiming asylum like these people have to. Unfortunately, based on statistics, many of the asylum seekers go "missing" and illegally enter the countries land in and basically go into hiding to stay in the country and not be deported. This is a drain on the tax payer and, yet again, unfair to those taking the legal avenue.
So, if you consider this arrogant you are just ignorant to the truth behind this.
I guess the Europeans should start migrating to Africa and Africans move to Europe. Most of these people after getting asylum will again go back to their homelands for holidays and vacations, the very places they claimed were persecuting them.
