I was a refugee and the Italian saved my live along 500 hundred others so I own them my life but I went back to iraq because the life in Europe is terrible and I prefer iraq so thank you very much for the Italian cost guard I hope one day I will return the favor

I am disgusted with some of the messages here! Such inhuman with no morals! I live in Kavala, Greece where twice per week people come by boats from the Greek islands. Those of you who say that only men come you are so wrong. Twice per week around around 1,500 people arrive. We, volunteers, prepare around 300 bags with some essentials and a toy and give out only to children. We ALWAYS run out! We try to give one or two maximum to each family. We do not have enough as the children are LOTS! So , for those of you who say that women and kids do not come... you are so wrong! Just visit one of the places these people arrive and you will see what happens. If you wonder why they leave their country, just check the story of their civil....

+Being human First I'm a Christian too but you have to look at the overall picture though. Every time there is a war in the world like the middle east, Europe is not big enough to bring in all the refugees when it happens. There is a lot of people who would rather live in Europe and united states than there current country and its in the millions. I think creating a safe zone in Syria or having the refugees wait it out in a closer muslim country is far smarter. There is plenty of homeless and needy in Europe that need to be taken care of and instead they give it to people looking for free handouts.

While from a humanitarian POV its absolutely necessary to prevent the loss of lives, every migrant saved this way and allowed to continue on their journey into europe is a message to those still in their homecountries "Come on over! Get rich or die trying!" So it would be better to send them back to their shores of departure.

The man/woman problems are real. We live with equality as women/men and this people have other ideas about how women should behave. Everywhere is more criminality also.
