Love it! Found it on the Minimalist Bujo group on fb but I couldn't get my head around it by just looking at pictures. Your videos are super helpful, thanks!
😲 I saw you in a BUJO U event on the 31st and remembered bookmarking frankenlog sometime last year... This is a game changer and I can't wait to see how it's morphed and if I'm going to take it for a spin. Thanks for sharing!
This is great! I must try and make it work with my A6 journal. I love the GTD system but have a hard time reffering to my next actions lists regularly. Implementing them directly onto my monthly pages could do the trick. Thanks a lot for the inspiration!
I really look forward to testing this in February, I didn't see this until today, so January is already started in my old way with weeklies. But a thought that hit me; When you don't have the columns for the weeks, how do you keep track of that for example "G" has been done week 1 and 2? (Now that I think of it, it wasn't obvious with the columns either...) Are you simply disciplined enough that you do the tasks for each day, and don't need to cross them off?
... or, (I just realised!) does this go onto your daylies? I am right now in a "weeklies only" Bujo, but am trying to get closer to Ryder's vision - so daylies slipped my mind :).
Most of the time while I'm bustling through a busy day, pretty much everything new goes into the dirty dailies. If a task isn't done by the end of the day, then it gets transferred over to FL and gets scheduled on the calendar with a letter if necessary. If course if I write something down in my dailies during the day that needs to happen in a later month, then it would have been truly be moved into the future log and then it would be put into Frankenlog at the beginning of it of that month when it starts. It is totally possible that I'm able to put something directly into Frankenlog if I am not busy at the moment that need to put something in my bullet Journal, but I have always found it less stressful to just throw everything into my dirty dailies and sort it out later. That way I don't have the immediate pressure of having to figure out where something should go or if it should be moved or anything like that.
Brian Hazard that is very helpful. So essentially following the Ryder method where it all goes into the dirty daily and sorted when you do your day recap. I like that. Today’s struggle is deciding on whether to keep using my A5 or convert to A6. I love the portability of the A6 being pocket sized but tend to use my journal all inclusive meaning work and personal and not sure if I can do it all from that size. I write very small. I carry a field notes journal in my pocket but feels counterproductive to have two separate journals. Separately- I never know if I should make a collection for meeting notes or place my meeting notes in the dirty dailies. Ugh the struggle is real! How are you keeping meeting notes and how do you reference later if needed - in your index? Or separate index?
@@jaklein030178 if I know it's going to be a big or a long meeting ahead of time, I will start a new collection for the meeting and put all the notes in there and then index it. If it's a less formal meeting or something that I don't think it's going to require a lot of notes, I just keep it in the dirty dailies and then index it from there. I keep everything in one single index, but I do tend to keep a separate master project list where I list all of my projects and the page numbers for the associated project notes. That is more of a GTD thing that I do.
@@jaklein030178 now THOSE are always in their own collections. I will go out of my way to get project related notes in the right place right away. If I end up having to write something project related in the dailies, it'll get moved to the project collection by end-of-day.
Hands down my favorite spreads! You get so much out of one page!
This is a great spread and explanation. Also enjoyed the future log application!

You're welcome! Glad it helped.

Seriously brilliant! I love the concept and can't wait to try it.
Thanks!
Amazing, I'm getting reafy for may 2021.regards from Greece
I like the simplicity. Going to try this for September.
i heard about this method in a chilean bujo community and it kinda blew my mind? cheers!!
I love this method. I am using this method.
That's great. Lemme know how it works out. 👍
Your videos are so fun! Thanks for the content. My new journal is a slim A5 so it’s more portable so saving space is so much more important. Cheers!

Intriguing! Thank you so much!
This is amazing! I can't thank you enough for sharing. The possibilities!
Aw, thanks!
The only thing I don't like is the fact I've already done my January layout! This is amazing and I'm going to definitely use it for February!
Thanks for this. It looks like a really great system!
Thanks for sharing!! This is awesome and I appreciated your concise explanation.
Thanks Brian - love it and will be incorporating a habit tracker into my monthly, therefore no "extra" page just for habit tracking!
I know, right? I love having everything all in one place!
LOVE THIS! thanks
Thank you for sharing this. I am going to try to use it for my dailies as well.
Interesting! I'd like to hear how it works out. There's a website now for Frankenlog if you're interested. www.frankenlog.com
It’s working nicely. I would post pics, but I don’t know how to blur private things.
Nice job! The Frankenlog appears to be similar to the Calendex.
Indeed! It was heavily inspired by both the Calendex and the Alastair Method.

Correct! Each morning I check Frankenlog and move anything for that day to the dailies. They get checked off in there.
@@BrianHazardVideos Ah! now I get it. TFS NIcole
How do you differentiate what goes on your frankenlog vs daily log? Are items added to both when they come to mind ?
