When I watched your older videos years ago you inspired me to get into KSP and into space and now I'm going for a Bachelor of Science. So thank you, Keep making KSP videos.
For the sound bug what worked for me was installing the Rocket Sound Enhancement mod. If you download just the mod and not the config files, you’ll still keep the normal game sound effects but it will fix the cutting!
I.. someone with like 80 hours of ksp. Don’t need quick saves because I barely leave kerbin SOI anyway and I just create the strongest shaped rockets (RCE haha)
Please don't quit the planet coaster series, I love watching those videos they are so chill and I enjoy your decoration and rollercoaster designs. If worst comes to worst I would love to see it on your second channel
@@gdutfulkbhh7537 that's the joke. it's a new meme where if something is bad or just alright they'll describe it without the adjective. like if you have a really "meh" meal: "wow, that really was one of the sandwiches of all time."
I try and have my missions fill as many purposes as possible. My first mun landing was also to repair a rover, build a little relay sat on the ground, and leave 2 relays in orbit.
Not in ksp but in another space flight game on mobile (space flight simulator) even though solar panels don’t have a purpose anymore until the new electricity revamp comes out I use it on my colony’s to provide power…like it’s original use. But I also land landers with rivers with “food” on them to resupply my colonies
I'm 90% sure that the engine sound glitch is something to do with how KSP processes engine noises and how the mods interact with them because I get it both with Waterfall and RealPlume. I also get it if I switch audio outputs mid-game
When a part is has a periapsis of less than 70k meters ,on Kerbin only. The tracking station will say it’s suborbital. Whenever I see that I just terminate the debris.
@@MattLowne I like to think I just start sticking parts together, but in reality I always have some goal which turns out to be more challenging than fun. Mentioning this because I'm not sure I should have said Eve SSTOs are possible in my other comment! XD
Man I don't usually mind Matt's style of a fast forward sequence of the build with little explanation, but for something this complex a slower breakdown of what parts went where and why would be fun.
I love how Matt installed radiators on the nuclear engines, created an action group for them, never deployed them even once and then let the nuclear tug stage burn up in Duna's atmosphere, just for extra salt in the wounds of those radiators.
I just thought about another ambitious KSP project, Eternity on Eeloo! You set up a mining base there and turn it into a refinery planet where you get ores and materials! Also a place to send misbehaving Kerbals hence the name ETERNITY on Eeloo…
Fun fact: this was one of the first-ever KSP videos I watched, The very first one was definitely by Matt though, he introduced me to KSP, and I thank him for that :)
This seems like a really fun idea! I will definitely try something similar. Thanks for the inspiration. Love the ksp content! Great video! Really made my day better! Keep it up!
🤣🤣🤣🤣 It is SOOOO kerbal that the mission plan involves "During the atmospheric descent to Duna's surface, perform an engineering EVA to finish struting the base together." And that was part of the plan! It thrills me to no end that people at NASA play this game. But I do worry it might give them some crazy ideas for missions. "Yeah, so as you're descending to the martian surface, you'll need to climb out and you'll have a few minutes to drill support arms onto the structure.... no we haven't put any guides or markers for you, just wherever you fell they're needed.... no we don't have a safety harness, just hold onto the ladder. You'll be fine."
I have recently encountered the sound bug too. I use “real plumes” rather than waterfall and I started using “better time warp” only a short while back. This suggests to me that “better time warp” is the culprit here.
I love Green aliens from a planet similar to Earth which have a set of related measures or activities with a particular long-term aim to observe the boundless three-dimensional extent in which objects and events have relative position and direction using various methods which usually involves launching a solid, or liquid fueled powered tube above the Karman line and releasing an object intentionally placed into orbit in outer space. It is my favorite game!
Great video! I always set the reaction wheels on my rovers to "SAS only" such that they do not respond to my commands, flip over and waste electricity, but they still provide stability to the rover.
10:00 "It never will decay" true, but there's one way around it: Leave the Pe below 30k at Kerbin and the Stage will disappear even when on rails. I use that technique to save time and solar bears at the same time. Cheers, and thanks so much for these KSP videos, they are always a pleasure!
Nice. Always great to watch Matt Lowne while waiting for the next For All Kerbalkind. After that I get to watch For All Kerbalkind while waiting for Matt Lowne. Keep up the videos.
23:45 my solution to that rover problem is to switch the SAS control from pilot to auto with an action group so when I push forward I don't lean forward, but I'm able to switch it back to pilot control if I start to flip. It's still pretty hairy at times on a bad bounce but I can usually recover.
there is a mod that will remove debris (and craft if you want) that have a trajectory to fall into the atmosphere of a planet so it will actually remove that part when it hits the atmosphere reentry altitude.
I have a racing mind, and these are very calming for me, I wish our planet had an accelerated the space program I don't want to be 110 by the time everything starts happening
I'd enjoy seeing a "some assembly required" space base with aesthetically unique (non-cylindrical) structures. And for the colony-system to be capable of mining resources and refueling ships in orbit
Hey Matt, bearing in mind duna’s thin atmosphere could you build a “catapult” for a small reconnaissance plane/drone (for the “catapult” if you search up V1 bomb or doodlebug it features this elevated rail in which it took of from). What would be I believe suitable is instead of just a rail would be a “bed” for the probe to rest on with a couple rockets on the back in which would ride on the rail and slingshot it up wards. Although something like minmus or the mun would be probably alot easier.
I am; hype for making an entire colony of Eve. Like an eve water fairing colony that has aquatic outposts? that'd be kind of awesome. Like they have to take a ton of precautions into the obv highly radioactive surface of that crazy dense planet, so tons of plating, heatsinks for their crafts, underwater stations for observing some kind of growth under the sea?? There's some cool lore concepts there o uo
Small challenge that will be taken up very easily, Make a constellation of satellites (a bit like starlink) around each planet to allow optimal communication through the universe
9:58 - the game doesn't simulate atmospheric effects (ie drag and heating) in the background, so any debris that only passes through Kerbin's atmosphere (ie, has a Pe above 0m) will not reenter unless focused. As long as the orbit intersects the planet (ie, has a Pe below 0m), it will crash as intended.
