- October first and i head out for my first pike fishing session of the season. Dead bait fishing for pike. Rigs and setups for catching pike on deadbaits. Simple float ledger rig for pike.

cant beat it can you tim, doesnt matter how big they are that first tremble on the float, did that just move?? o o o go on and then the run develops and moves off....it is a special type of fishing

Good video big man, loved my pike fishing as a kid on hidden river's round Suffolk.
Hadn't fished for a few years bacause of life and my weekends where taken up with watching football at Ipswich Town and other stuff.
Recently i had a few deaths in my family in a short time my mental health went down the pan so cut down on work hours.
Anytime i can i get out of Ipswich back to the rivers i fished as a kid i do.
I have picked up small jack's from the river but that will do me as i know the pike are still alive and kicking in the river Deben.
I will try some of your tips in the deep holes i find along the river it's only 15 feet average across the river and 3 feet deep but in the deep holes it's 10 feet deep.
A good and informative video for my first upcoming real piking session, though strange you didn't show and explain the best unhooking method. With twin trebles (barbed or semi barbed) this is probably the most important thing for the safety of the fish, and sometimes the angler.

cheers mucka you two if your out mate, really want to try for a river dee nice pike but dnt think i can be bothered with the circus that comes with the hunt on the stretch you need to go too.
I've got the dee pencilled in myself danny, I assume from the circus reference you mean farndon?...lol...i'll be avoiding there myself mate, there's plenty of river to go at, just leave the crowds to it and seek them out elsewhere👍

if you live around liverpool i would say any where with silvers in has pike it seems lol, i would say take a look at the many canals the north west of england is famous for craig as a starting point mate wont go far wrong
