- In this video, we show you the makeover color change to the exterior of our home. From natural brown to black, it upgrades the look and feel of our outdoor spaces to the max! Also, we give an update of both of our throw away gardens as well as an update on the Oakleaf Hydrangea debacle. I love your beautiful home and gardens. You taking back the already planted plant cracked me up. Your husband was nice about it. Our house is due to be painted soon, it really needs it bad. I’ve been trying to talk my husband to go dark too. I think it just makes the garden POP! I just loved how your home turned out. Really chic. I must have 5 color test strips, who new there could be so many black colors, charcoals. Yikes! Some green undertones, purple undertones. I just can’t find the one that works for me. The black stain looks freaking awesome! That color fits the style so well. Lol, you guys are so hilarious in such a relatable way. I’m itching to go outside and work this weekend but we only got one nice day yesterday after days of nonstop heavy rain, now it’s 20-30 mph wind gusts till Tuesday. 😫 i got so many plants in nursery pots to line up in flower beds around the house, the wind is just a bitch. 😬So your video was a nice treat this morning with coffee while the wind howls outside. I guess we could always just take the dogs swimming. 🐾🐶 Glad to see Zoey is doing better.
Looks great! Last year i used a black solid stain on my picket fence and was so happy with it this year I am (in the process of) staining my privacy fence the same.

I love the new house color, it looks great! Painting is a chore that's for sure. We are working on painting our stair rails and spindals for the last three weeks, what a mess. Your hostas look so good, the slugs are eating mine, I need to find a solution.

I typically love the natural wood on homes, but I have to admit, the black finish turned out looking amazing. I forget your hubby's name, but I also love his little shade garden. I don't know if he did it all by himself or done with your help but it looks pretty good. Last, I'm growing tomatoes this year do you mind sharing where you got your tomato ladders?

Dryopteris erythrosora Brilliance , Japanese SHEILD fern, or autumn fern.
The Brunnera require frequent division, so more maintenance than a hosts.

I love love your hostas, I'm from south Australia and have made a large space in my garden for them and now can't find them anywhere for sale, how disapointing.

Oak leaf hydrangeas want to put down a deep root system first. Once that root system is established and it begins pushing big stems from its base, you may then start removing the lank first years growth from the base.

What are the chartreuse green bushes at 24:31? Seems to be growing very well in the shade. I need some of these. Adding a pop of colors in a shade garden is very challenging and your videos have been such an inspiration! Xx

Didn’t think I’d like the black stain, but it’s really nice! And your shade garden is just gorgeous. I was wondering when you will be putting out that Campania fountain? I still haven’t been able to get one. The ones I’ve found have either been in use on display or chipped. Frustrating.
wouldn’t it look good to put a white lattice on the dark house wall with a climbing vine? (Not over the whole wall) Or a nice Decoration piece.
What color of mulch do you use . Brown or black. Do you get the seeding real wet when use fish fertilizer or a little we fertilizer every friday later friend
We don’t use any dyed mulches just composted mulch so it’s a deep earthy brown just from natural content. It breaks down over the course of the year also which helps replenish the soil nutrients.
