- Part 2 of my video series on converting a 1992 Cushman white van into a battle ready technical complete with roof mounted Machine gun. In this video I spend time replacing the factory computer with a cord pinto computer that removes the governor that restricts the vehicle to 22mph. Look for the next episode where I hope to fix the steering issues and start addressing the transmission and adding a 4th and 5th gear.

8:28 If its carb'd then the governer was controlling timing. It started faster and I thought it was peppier before you even said it. So I think that governer was also retarding timing across the entire power band (maybe a warm up thing?), and the actual distributer is more advanced in timing giving much better power and better starts.

Ended up frying something electrical and could never get spark again. I tried everything short of a full rebuild on the machine.

@@Brian-my3gd I don’t think so, that was my initial thought but I drove it around for a week or so before the issues came up. I think it’s honestly just a case of needing a completely new distributor but I can’t find one
