  • A traditional Mongolian ger or yurt is a portable, round tent covered with skins or felt and used as a dwelling by nomads in the steppes of Central Asia. Having extreme weather and nomadic way of life, ger is the most suitable dwelling for them. It is easy to collapse or build. And Mongolians used carts for moving to another place. Thanks to the Molomjamts's family!

Every time I see this video it makes me cry , its awesome that a family gets together to build a new home for their new members of their family. Theres no hidden agenda ,dirty looks or what's in it for them . They seem so genuine in helping construct a new home and giving them blessing while doing it . Truly blessed people everyone plays a part , everyone contributes. You can see they honor their elders and allow them to participate as they build this new home . Awesome.

@@_Wai_Wai_ yurt is a Turkic name for ger, the yurt came to be known in the west through Russia as I understand. This dwelling has been used by both turks and mongols since ancient times. The only turk yurt I know is Kazakh yurt which can be found only in Mongolia, it’s much larger and spacious inside. I’m not sure if ger is called yurt in Kazakh language.
