I would have to disagree with the comments about the BBT not having enough bass. I have a BBT with D'Addario Phosphor Bronze
Light (EXP16) strings on it and to me, it has plenty of bass. This is a great guitar for the price!
After months of not years of trying to decide on a new acoustic I’ve finally decided to get the big baby. Picking it up this week and I can’t wait.

I have a Taylor Big Baby and I agree with you that it doesn’t have a big amount of bass.
I think people who like bright and clear treble notes and loud volume will like the Big Baby Taylor more than a Martin at the same price point.
I’m absolutely in love with how bright and clear the sound is in my BBT.
People who like deeper bass and a warmer tone will like a Martin more.

Nice and honest review. Thinking of upgrading between Big Baby or Seagull S6 Original. Playing mostly fingerstyle. What would you recommend?
I would recommend the seagull S6. Its a great guitar, and with a 1.8 neck width, it's awesome for finger picking.
Which guitar has better natural and amplified sound, the Academy 10e or the Big baby e, I want to buy one of those two, which one do you recommend more?
Hey, I really appreciate your work . I own Taylor GS mini but find it really hard to play up the frets especially with finger style, do you think the big baby would be better in terms of playability and action?
You just need to get it setup correctly with the gs mini and it will sound better than the big baby .. ive done so many of this setups .. and if you are in Singapore just PM

Taylor's website is wrong. The Academy 10 specs say that it has the same body dimensions of a full size dreadnought, it does not. The lower bout is only 15 -1/8" not 16" and it is not 4 - 5/8" deep it is only just a hair over 4" deep maybe 4 1/8". Just barely deeper than the Big Baby.
Big voice distinct sound.
Nice demo as always. The 214 Ce destroys the BB but it would do , it’s about 3 times the price. Big Baby still nice but I like more bass. Peace.
Which guitar do you recommend the most, taylor big baby or academy 10e
kevin cheng it’s two different guitar - the academy 10e will be have more bass due to the size and the way they brace it

Did you say you were able to lower the action on this Big Baby?
Did it affect the sound at all? I’ve never lowered the action on any of my guitars before but I do feel like when I bought it from guitar center, the action was a bit high.
when you lower it with a straight neck to the sweet spot the whole guitar will resonate at a very responsive frequency.. very high action may sound loud but no definition in the tone

I havent looked into martin at all 😅. I was pretty sure about getting one of the taylor. How about the non signature 000 JR or DJR ? Is shawn mendes signature just better than those two?

If you have to choose between GS mini mahogany / 10e / 12e? I guess I just limit my budget at this range for now
Hi Jarvis. I have the same big baby taylor. What do you recommended? Elixir 11 or elixir 12 recommended string?
12-53 PB Elixir is the choice...anything lighter you will get buzz and it sounds tinny..if you want more depth and woody organic tone...then get the martin 12-54 Light PB authentic strings ..
please get someone to set it well with the strings and you will be amazed with it

I don't think the Big Baby has as much warmth and bass that I'm looking for. I'm leaning towards the Seagull S6 Cedar. Got any suggestions on other models in this price rang? I already have my spendy dream guitar. I want something I can take with me anywhere and not worry too much about it.
Big baby is not that bassy but more contained tone

@@TheGuitarSpaSingapore went to a few guitar stores in town but didn't find anything I liked under 2k.
So I went out of town to Guitar Center to try a couple seagulls S6's but was disappointed in their build quality and bright tonal balance.
Tired a few Mexican Martins and noticed one was defiantly better than the rest. Intonation, action, tone, volume, fit and finish all awesome. So i bought it. Its a Martin X Special Dreadnought Electric (spruce). Was surprised at how good the pickup sounded too not quacky at all.
