    When I say I want a low stress job people think it’s because I’m lazy but I have serious anxiety and I’m not tryna always have a looming deadline. School is stressful enough

      Asserting Word stress and anxiety are different, I can handle stress at work but being constantly stressed makes my panic attacks peak, why would I choose a job that would aggravate my mental illnesses?? I’m happier making $2 dollars less an hour working in a restaurant than I would be working at an office tbh.

    copy and pasting reddit AMAs into a text to speech sounds like a pretty low stress job

    • @CelestialDraconis
      @CelestialDraconis 4 роки тому +150

      @Mi Sh Lmao, it doesn't require skill at all. It just takes time, since it's tedious to edit videos. These youtubers are making it big right now because reddit text to speech videos are the current trend. That's all it really is. Making bank on the trend. You could just as easily do this, and if you upload consistently, could probably be just as successful. Don't know how this trend will be in a couple of years though, so you'll have to adapt. It's the same reason Let's Play youtubers got so big in 2012-2014, and why they barely get any views anymore these days. The trend was big, then it died.

    • @CelestialDraconis
      @CelestialDraconis 4 роки тому +56

      @Mi Sh Except, with these kinds of videos, it doesn't really. These are very basic edits. There aren't even noticeable fades, or any smooth transitions really. Anyone with a basic knowledge of the simple 'audio + music on top of pictures' formula and windows movie maker can compile these in a day. It might be a pain in the ass to convert so much text into text to speech audio clips, but it's pretty straight forward. Time =/= skill.

    • @CelestialDraconis
      @CelestialDraconis 4 роки тому +24

      @Mi ShMany people have a lot of free time on their hands. Stacking 200 hundred chairs for instance sure as hell takes a lot of time and effort. But it definitely doesn't take any skill at all. Patience =/= skill either, so I don't know how you came to that conclusion. One might have the patience to learn and refine a skill. But patience on its own isn't always an indication of someone's skill.

    I was pushed to get into nursing school instead of pursuing my interest which was arts and graphic design by my mom because she claimed that nursing is low stress, high wages and was a good back up in case arts didn't make good money. Fast forward years later, I learn that nursing hardly gives good pay and is never low stress. My mom is a doctor and seriously underestimated how stressful nurses work is. She considered handling and juggling patient care and doing surgeries to be more stressful, which I can see to some degree, but that by no means indicates that just because nursing is LESS stressful that it is a LOW stress job. She gave me the impression of nurses being lazy and often laid back at their jobs,when they are truly anything but. Man, I miss sketching.

      Start back into sketching and go to school for the degree. Or at least do it part time or as a side hustle to see if you really would want to do it full time.
      Don't keep waking up every shift to a job you hate. Yes, you are helping people, which is a great feeling but don't stress your body out on a career where you keep moving for the whole 13 or 14 hours and it something that is not your passion.

      I can relate to an extent. I really regret studying nursing too and I only did it because my mum told me that it has good job security. In hindsight, I should have done at least three days of work-experience but preferably even longer before starting this degree. The main reason I hate nursing is the social aspect and as an introvert it is really stressful for me to spend 12 hours each shift constantly conversing with so many patients and colleagues.😕😟

So, he settled around the DMV area and got a job similar to the dude at 2:36 . He IS making *MASSIVE BANK* and investing in foreign markets, stocks and crypto.

Due to regulations, I legally HAVE to have a 30 minute break for every 1 hour 30 mins of work- meaning I only “work” 6hrs a day. My shift pattern is working 6 days of and then get 4 days off. This means I only work 36 hours every 10 days. Of that, I probably spend about 12 hours talking to aircraft

      Nathan Davis in the uk, literally 5 GCSE passes. The application process is brutal, however. My (ex)company who I trained through claim that they have 3000 applicants and only 20 get offered places. There were 17 on my course. 11 finished the initial training. College training is tough, you need to learn the 400+ page MATS part 1 pretty much verbatim as well as 2 other textbooks. The training, I believe, is mostly to test your dedication and mental resilience kind of like “if you’re not mentally strong enough to learn a book, you not strong enough to be in charge of thousands of lives a day”.
      After this cutthroat procedure, you get your first posting and... it’s piss easy. You need to train for at least 6 months before being allowed to control fully on your own. You could probably do it in 2-3 months. One interesting thing is that you don’t get to choose where you get posted- you are told.
      Being an ATCO is the same as being a pilot in that you spend most of your training learning exactly what to do if something goes wrong... except nothing will go wrong as there are programs watching yours and the pilots every move. If I was to clear a plane too early, I would literally have a big flash on my radar screen warning of a potential loss of separation. To which I will simply tell the pilot to disregard my prior instruction.

    To people in poor countries who are salivating over the thoughts of high salaries in rich countries, I want to offer a word of caution. While you may well improve your material living standards by moving to a rich country because the salaries are higher, please consider that it's not nearly as easy to get by here (US) as you may think. Think hard about whether the potential improvement is really worth having to adapt to a different way of life and different cultural norms, learning a new language, and being a long way from your family, especially if you can't afford to go back and visit them. Many poor Americans cannot afford to fly, much less fly across an ocean.
    I don't say all this because I don't want immigrants to come here. In fact, I think the country should be open to all who want to come. I merely question whether it's really the right decision for many potential migrants. I am not an international migrant, though my mom immigrated here from what was then a poor country (Panama). She has been very happy with her decision, has never regretted it, but she was unable to go back and visit family for a long time due to the cost (and she lived closer to Panama than she did to California) as well as the process of getting permanent residency and citizenship in the US. Neither she nor my dad are very family-oriented though, even by US standards. It'll probably be harder for you to be away from everyone you know and love. I know that people move here from West Africa and East Africa and regret that choice, but they just don't want to admit to anyone back home what a waste of money it was after everyone spent years scraping together whatever money they could to make it possible.
    Now that Panama is a solidly middle-income country with a comparable life expectancy to the US and a well-functioning government, I would not recommend moving here to most people. If you are from a very poor country, it may well be worth your consideration, but be warned of what you are getting yourself into.

    I had a job pretty similar to that.
    When my cousin Adam's friend resigned from his job to go into the army. He hooked me up with the job. I was 22 at the time and needed a job after college and he was 25.
    All we did was sit in a cabin at a forest park and campgrounds. Our cabin was by the tree line. We lived in that cabin and waited for any emergency calls from the 200 various emergency phone stations in the forest area. Sometimes the firewatch would zip in from time to time through the walkie talkies and checked in on us or give us a report if there were emergencies.
    We got paid a flat salary of 2500 a month and worked every other month. Our months off had other people relieve us, so there were only four people working there in total. We never met the other workers but they're technically considered coworkers. We used to leave notes for each other, one of them left a note about a ghost and that scared the living hell out of me, my cousin wasn't afraid lmao.
    We would take a train to the nearby city and at the office we would take the company jeep and drive up into the mountains 90 miles. The cabin came with a tv, and wifi. So all we did was play video games on the ps3 that we brought from home, board games that were there already, read manga and books that we brought from home, watched movies that we brought from home, or go on the internet.
    The only downsides were planning for the trip. We had to make one grocery run every month in the nearby city since taking that many groceries with us on the train was impossible, also we couldn't come back. We went shopping in the jeep lmao. The wifi was slow, some days it is moderately bearable, some days it's too slow. We never played games online, it was always rpg's, so we didn't get to play the new BF1 when it came out. My cousin Adam brought stacks of games all the time.
    There were no bedrooms, just two beds on opposite sides of the cabin. A fireplace instead of a heater. No bathroom, just a shower in the corner, a small kitchen though it had all the appliances, and we had to use the outbox if we wanted to do no.2
    We also had to bring our own pots and pans. One time my cousin bought a bbq grill from the grocery store run and just left it there. It got destroyed by the snow lol.
    It was unbearably boring sometimes, and having no privacy slowly kills you, but the job was stress free. I worked there for 1 year before Adam quit to go to college abroad. I stayed 3 more years with his younger brother (my younger cousin) who was fresh out of college before I got a different job as an RN when I finally got hired and moved to California making 4500 a month at a huge hospital in San Francisco.

You can only drive a certain amount of time per day, but even while on the road, it's just music and audiobooks. I'm working on becoming a musical instrument repair tech (starting with Violin repair then moving on to band/winds). I've been in a paid internship with this small business music shop, and I absolutely love it here. The other repair techs are super chill, and everyday has something different to offer, putting my creative problem solving skills to the test.
    Need to fix a crack on a Violin but don't want to take to top off? Pull a guitar string through the crack with a cleat on the other end.
    Stuck cloth in a clarinet? We have a thin string-like device that has a tiny crane-game hand on the other end of it.
    Even customer service is fine since I feel like I'm really able to help people with their needs. The most common thing I do for people is replace a string. It's nice knowing how much relief you give a parent when you can do something so simple.
    The most demanding thing I do is drive to one of our other locations that's an hour away to get more advanced training on repairing string instruments, but since my car is very fuel efficient, and I get bonus experience with electric/acoustic guitars and more obscure instruments, it's well worth the trip.
    I consider myself a "life-long student"; all I truly want is knowledge, and all I want to do is continuously learn (guess what grades I got in HS), which makes this field an absolute dream to me. Constantly learning and putting my skills to the test.
    The pay is also pretty good in comparison to the amount of schooling you "need" (you *can* go to college, but you're more likely to apprentice under someone), and it can be upwards of 40K a year (US), plus you have 100% job security/placement. Not to mention a lot of the people you work with have a similar mentality when it comes to music. If you do go to school, it's a single year program that costs ~10,000$ total for each program (eg. if you do the violin, band, and guitar programs, that's 30,000$ total, with basically no gen ed requirements).
    The only minor "downside" for me specifically is that it's an aging industry (especially in piano repair), so my coworkers are around 30+ years older than me. Of course, I don't tend to get along with other people my age (late teens, early 20's), so it could be a blessing in disguise!
    tl;dr Instrument repair is creative, people around you are chill and have similar mindsets on music, and the pay is decent in comparison to the cost of schooling.
    All around, a great field to go into imo.

      If you're successful, investing in stocks (like Amazon when it just started) and being a real estate agent are great ones. Someone I know went to over 1,000 open houses, and one day a real estate agent asked him why he was always at open houses. My friend told him that he loved viewing houses and seeing the prices and negotiations of them, and next thing you know, the guy took him under his wing, became a multi-millionaire, gave my friend a million to start off on his own, and with all his knowledge, he is like 30 and has more than 10 million from what I know of.
      Sadly, all of them include luck, so don't depend on those. I plan to invest my time on business marketing and stock marketing, because if you're successful, you can earn some cash.

      Low stress at work: Yes. High pay: No. (For majority, members of ruling party had better pay than others.) If you did not say things against ruling party, you were OK. And in the beginning if you were from the wrong origin (successful entrepreneur, upper middle class ...) you went to prison and were lucky if you got out of it with not completely destroyed health. @@entrepreneurkat it's basically a lazier version of a security guard lol. Well, the skills employers need for a CCTV operator are simple: Tech savvy, paying great attention to details and the ability to maintain strict levels of confidentiality. Even an undergraduate can become one.
      Having knowledge in CCTV operation and maintenance can give you an edge but not necessarily required. Having CCTV training license is also a bonus.

      @@entrepreneurkat it may take a few days to a week of training to get licensed depending on what licensure you're taking. Employers don't really ask for certifications and licenses unless they're looking for an experienced CCTV operator. If you don't have an experience and you got hired, they'll train you anyway starting from how to operate the CCTVs and basic troubleshooting.
      What's important is that you're trustworthy...and you also know how to practice the strictest levels of confidentiality. You're not allowed to give the footages to anyone, even to the police unless they secured permission from the property/building administration.
      Having an excellent communication skills can give you an advantage specifically for incidents where you are required to coordinate with the roving security officers using a radio and when you answer phone calls. Shit that sounds fun. Actually i'd love to do it for people to have one less shit delivery guy/girl to be worried about. Some dude threw a package containing my dogs' food packages (two 15kg packs) for the next few months in the garden once. The dogs smelled it. Ripped the cardboard and dog food packages to shreds. Found them both in a bad state in the middle of the garden. Had to get them to the vet to get their stomachs emptied so that they wouldn't die from that turned around stomach thing dogs get when they eat too much and get running right after. An absolute waste of money since i had to pay for the emergency vet, who made me pay for one appoitment for each dog, had to buy dog food again and had to take a day off of work to stay at home and in the fucking garden during winter freezing my tits off, (if i were to touch them my nipples would've fuckin broken off like lil pieces of ice ffs) for the whole morning to make sure that wouldn't happen again. Another guy didn't ring even though i stay home and leave a post it note with written "someone is home please ring for me to intercept the package don't just throw it in the garden". He opened the door and my dogs ran out. They were nowhere to be found and i spent all day crying. Both came back over 10 hours later, wet, covered in dirt, tired af. Barked at the door because they wanted to get back in the house. Like there's dogs. Don't open the door you don't know if they're going to slip away or not. And worst part is he didn't even fucking ring to tell me both my dogs ran out. He just threw the package in the garden as if nothing had fucking happened.

I earn just as much as those teachers who manage a class, manage parents, manage attendance register and all the other stressful shit.
    Everyday for my period, I just turn on a story on a smartboard, make kids enjoy the lesson, ask them to read a little and come back home by 1:30 pm and I'm earning $750 a month. I agree that I have lucked out though, but the competition is still relatively less compared to other fields...

If I move to a low cost town like my hometown, I'd have more available money, but I'm still attending uni for accounting (I wanted to and should've probably pursued finance but I can't make the switch anymore) to get a degree and mostly as a backup plan. I'd rather not die of boredom and soul-crushing work doing book entries or being overworked or overstressed for no reason in some back office so I won't make the switch until I have my current job or unless I have learned the necessary skills for an analyst job or any other interesting job that pays better.
