  • For those of you that have been following my channel for a while you will know I had this video online over a year ago. I took it off because after a 2 week vacation to Korea where I was walking in them 8 hours a day for 2 weeks strait I had a different perspective on them and I wanted to reload this video with different audio. I decided to scrap that idea and just list my findings post vacation:
    1. These boots are very heavy. I weighed them on a shipping scale and they were 2.4kg/ 5.29lbs for both boots. And these are a size 7D.
    2. As stated on Rose Anvil's boot channel the arch is VERY aggressive. Too aggressive for me and I am used to a high arch.
    3. Whites recommendation of 1/2 size down from brannock is perfect.
    4. The roughout wears and fades easily on areas where there is high contact. For me the back of my right boot rubs on my rubber floor mat in car while I drive. I use Obenaufs to condition them but they still wear abnormally fast.

Great looking boots 😊 thanks for the review, I think the soles look really cool and make them look different to other boots. Enjoy them.

I have the Ranier from Frank's, which is pretty much an exact copy of this boot. I love it, I wear it for work every day. I like the wedge sole but not a great fan of the tread so I'm having them retreaded (not resoled) after about ten months of wear. I've worn the tread down almost flat, so not good in the wet. Other than that, they are fantastic, especially after you've been on your feet 8-10 hours.

Yes. They are very slick in wet. I’ve been interested in Franks as another pacific NW brand.

grind the bottom smooth, stick on a sierra sole onto the bottom. Any cobbler can do it for cheap. Now you got a super winter boots with everything else you like. Now you can do future resoles forever without ever having to rebuild as long as the upper leather holds. It is as simple as peeling off the sierra and putting on a new sierra.

Is the toe box area too narrow or do they have a little bit of room? My toes are a little more spread out and i heard you say that last has a longer toe box area, so im worried they'd crowd my toes in the front.

@@colekiddo there is more room than a service boot but if you have specifically wide toes that are spaced out it still might be narrow.

Yeah even with the sale they are still pricey. But if you want them now is the time to get them. If you live in the US you get cheap shipping and no import taxes. I have to pay that stuff.

They’re cool but no way around the fact that they are big chunky boots - look really awkward with the skinny pants. Clowny. Would recommend some straight leg pants at the very least.
