This was a super tight video! I bought an art kit when I was a teenager that made this same thing but obviously it wasn't resin. It was some thin gel stuff that hardens. This was hilarious and gave some serious nostalgic vibes. Love it.
Yaaay, I'm so happy you fell for UV resin!! I use it so much and knew you could make gorgeous things if you get to know it!! I'd recommend you to use a thinner wire for the petals, it'd be so much easier to manipulate, and maybe bend them on a ruler or sth like that would help with edges. Also you can heat the resin after mixing it with the heat gun to get rid of bubbles and then wait a bit till it cools down if you want it thicker or less if you want it runny. And then uv uv uv it till it gets friking hard, maybe sun bathe in the window for a day or two, it works great! Luv you!! TAD!!!
There is proper dipping resin that works better than UV resin for this btw. It's the dipping resin that gives you the proper bubble like quality rather than the thickness you had. But good job the end piece looks lovely
Yes Dana! I had a middle school art teacher that brought a bunch of that dipping resin in for us to make flowers. I remember thinking it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. My mom probably still has the flower I made somewhere lol

13:15 I’m here before finishing the video to suggest or ask about if you used packing tape to hold the resin within the wire form , peeling it away and shaping the curve at the semi cured stage, then cure the rest of the way… then you might not need the center wire? Although I do love the way it creates more realistic petals, center vein and all… just brainstorming in my heightened state of inspiration- as I seem to wind up here any time I catch a new upload here❤ thanks for sharing not only the perfection but the struggle, the process, and most of all, the humor creativity… I feel like this channel is like… exemplary of why UA-cam exists

This technique is actually even better for creating fairy wings! Flower petals are cool too though!

If you warm up the Uv resin, it will thin down to make it easier to mix and to also not clump on the wires.
This technique is from the 70'ies...it was quite poular, but I do not know, what was used instead of resin.

Most of the time when I see videos of people making flowers like this they use a type of special dipping resin
If you have issues with the wire... maybe use thinner gauge wire ... maybe 18 or 16 gauge.
