What is UV DIP resin? │ Wire Flower Art Tutorial
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 чер 2024
- The UV DIP resin is a translucent substance. This resin can be used to make a thin layer on closed wire forms, such as flowers shapes. You must use a UV light to cure the resin after it has been dipped into the container.

Precautions when working with UV dip resin (or any kind of UV resin, from my point of view):
⭐ Wear suitable equipment: gloves, vapor mask, and goggles.
⭐ If you use the UV lamp in several positions, be careful not to get it in your eyes. You can protect yourself by wearing UV glasses/ goggles.
⭐ A well-ventilated area/ room is preferred. Either you have a fan that ventilates to an open window or a smoke extractor. The harmful chemical process is the one during the drying of the lamp, from the first seconds. An airy room is perfect.
⭐ Do not place the open box under the UV lamp or UV rays near the window, and do not place the open box in an outdoor space until it will harden directly into the box.
⭐ Close the lid of the box tightly, you can do this by drying the lid on the lamp and removing the resin, which you can no longer use. This way, you clean it well, and you can attach it to the box again.
Even if these details are known, sometimes we forget how important it is to take care of our health, and it is good to remember.

Very beautiful! I do however wish you would talk and explain all you are doing! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your feedback! This video was the only one with no voice. I tried something different. :)
@@CRAFTEKA of course and it was the first of yours I saw!. Lol am watching more now
Sangat cantik Terima kasih
Do you mix hardener with resin
Can this be achieved with uv resin in soft variety
Hi. Nice video! Can you make a tutorial for a tulip flower wire art? I want to know how i can do it myself because I want to give it to someone
Thank you so much! It is in my plans to create a tulip flower soon. Stay tuned! :)
Hello ! @crafteka Thanks for sharing this video ! Is the resin safe for skin ? I'd like to make some earings with your method !
I recommend always using protective measures. Gloves, safety glasses, be in a well-ventilated room, even your clothes should be protected.
Thanks for sharing! Please, how to get colored petals? How many tins have I buy in that case.
You can mix some UV dip resin with mica powders or resin pigments and add another layer with a toothpick. ❤You can check the other tutorials. For example ua-cam.com/video/JSVE6yhOS_s/v-deo.html
Would regular uv resin work? Great video! Thanks
No. Because they have different chemical structures. UV regular resin does not form films on wire forms.
Hello ☺️ can you share what kind of pliers to make waves ? Or the name? I can not find in your amazon link
You can use any kind of jewelry plier. Mine was purchased from Cookson Gold.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Can these flowers be put outside when finished?
Why not? But I think some dust on them won't look so good. So, it depends.
Hi! Just bought it! but I cant create the film when I put the wire in it T.T what am I doing wrong? T.T
First, you should try with small petals like 1-2 cm. Then to create larger wire shapes, you put some veins there, as I did in this tutorial. After a while, you will understand how to create larger shapes without veins.
*Special note: play with gravity while curing at the UV lamp preventing the resin to run from the shape after you dipped it.

Hi I would just like to know how you purchased this product and how your delivery went. I tried getting two on etsy and they did not contact me at all when my package came to South Africa. How did they contact you, because I waited about a month with no contact at all. Thank you
Best way is to order from Etsy. You should ask your local post office about the parcel. Usually, to arrive in South Africa takes longer because of the customs. Did you receive the resin? All good? :)
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
One doubt: shouldn't we use protective gear while dealing with resin?
You should always use protection and work in a well-ventilated space.
Does this resin get hot as it cures? Many UV resins get REALLY hot when hit with the UV and if so it will end up warping my delicate 3D printed fairy wing frames.
Yes, it does. This is the way it gets dry. Maybe if you try to expose it little by little in the UV light, you can get a better result.
Hi! i plan on making these for my girlfriend, was wondering how many flowers do you think you can make per bottle of resin?
Depends of how big and detailed you want to make them. I would say 10 like that from the video, but I never counted.
Hey! Just a question...does this resin not get a tacky/sticky top when its cured? Does need to be wiped with perhaps alcohol, or something similar?
Thank you for posting this video! 😊
Hi! No, it will not be sticky at all after curing. No alcohol is needed - that could damage the glossy suface. 😊
Can we use epoxy resin for dip art like petals???
No, you can't. Only UV dip resin can form petals like these ones and you can cure them in time with a UV lamp.
@@CRAFTEKA thanks for your reply
How the strenght if i make it become wearable accesorries? It is fragile? Thanks for the answer
The UV dip resin gets very hard after curing a UV lamp. So no worries, you can create jewelry.
@@CRAFTEKA thanks so much 😊
What is the difference of dip uv resin and usual uv resin?
@@methzadelia7115 UV DIP resin has a different chemical consistency than other UV resins. Only this resin can form a film on wire shapes.
Is it possible to bend the dip resin after it is cured?
No. You should bend it before.
Does it work with regular resin? Please 🥺❤️
No. It doesn't. You need the UV dip resin and a UV lamp to do it.

Love the video but the background made my eyes cross 🤣
The intensity depends on the screen you are watching. But thank you for the feedback - I intend to test some more background in the future.
WHERE is your PPE missy????
Busted! ☺Even though I always mention PPE, it's hard to record when I use tiny wire shapes and I am afraid that viewers will not understand all my movements. But I am 100% pro-PPE. I also mentioned it in the video description or other videos. It is a listed topic in my UV DIP resin art group on Facebook. Thumbs up! 👍
@@CRAFTEKA This is the first time I have watched your video and all I could see was your hand going into the resin. Your creation is beautiful.
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing your talent but please be careful not to use u.v rays on your body. It causes
very bad effect.
Thank you! Never thought of the UV light from lamp may be dangerous. I have studied it now and it seems that there is a study in which the UV rays of lamps are not dangerous, but I believe that additional precautions should be necessary. (HTTPS: //www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7492020/). Maybe suncream or dark gloves should be the appropriate form of precaution.
