      @@inducedbycoffee yes apparently the active position! But it seems Magnus uses his intuition a lot, because he said, "I don't know what to say--it's just a mess". But then AFTER NxR, Magnus is "very happy with what he just did". He's the equivalent of 2 pawns down (exchange) but intuits that his active position can do damage before his opponent can mobilize. But his opponent does mobilize, but apparently Magnus's subtle yet aggressive pressure wins the day.

    • @mikeholland6750
      @mikeholland6750 4 роки тому +1

      hes not an entire rook down though because the knight is completely closed off from the rest of the game and can be taken for free a couple moves later. so hes just down the exchange facing an attack against the world #1. the game ends with magnus up 2 whole pieces and white checkmated so its clear magnus knew the rook was worth exchanging. if it were a classical game with perfect play maybe but this is blitz vs magnus no chance

    5:08 Bishop to c3 was my first thought I believe checkmate in 6 moves Bc3 check, Rc3 bxc3 check and then two options.
    Option 1: Ka3 c2 check Kb2 Rb8 check Ka1 Qc3 check Qb2 Qb2 checkmate
    Option 2: Ka1 Nc2 check Kb2 Rb8 checkmate. After Nc2 check you have to go Qc2 give up the queen and your basically winning.

I was playing bullet, and was down to like 1 sec and the guy had 20+ secs! but I had a nice attack going! at the end I just was throwing pieces at him and saccing everything (with no intentions I was going to lose on time anyway) and suddenly I checkmated him lol ..
