*White King is safer than Black King in King's Gambit.*
Opponent:"What sorcery is this?"

Hello everyone!
This is Ultra Deep Naruto Nunjitsu. We mortals do not possess such information
Magnus goes for a safer king and a pawn-up endgame...*in the King's Gambit*.
Fisher's King's gambit in the world chess championship back then is more impressive if you know the whole story.
@@victorvalenzuela9174 ofc this is a 3min blitz game...
@@victorvalenzuela9174 Were Fischer's games in long time format which would negate any valid comparison?
@@droceretik This is streaming chess while chilling at home which is a different setting than a championship so it's an invalid comparion in any case. Pressure, risk, anonyomous opponent etc all plays into this.
@@cyberneticbutterfly8506 Fischer once played a group of gms' at the same time
Please more Kings Gambit! Was amazing!
Wolfe Motivation or he should try the Evans gambit 😍
Me at the start of this game: Jesus, Carlsen is in a terrible position, he’s totally exposed.
Me at the end: D-:
Magnus : Play these kind of positions for fun
Me, doing the same : *"WTF did I just did??"*
do
4:28 I can't tell if magus missed the triple fork, of if i'm an idiot for thinking that was a good movie and being shocked when he did not do it.
The white bishop is hanging. 2 active pieces (knight and bishop) for a pawn and a rook is not a good trade.
5:18 a rare blunder
4:26 why not capture on f7?
Two pieces are considered better than a rook
If you mean to fork rook h8 and bishop h6, if opponent moves bishop to take bishop f4 then he’s just forking both black rooks, and then if he takes its just trading knight for rook as other rook takes it.
Tldr attacking to fork bishop and rook here means he loses his bishop and probably his knight and gains an undeveloped rook.
His king may be safe but his rook is completely useless beside it. It's amazing how casually he wins against such strong players.
That rook's duty is guarding the king. That's why he si safer.
Defends h2, prevents any knight g3 tactics since that'd open a discovery against the queen. It's actually a deceptively good defensive piece in this game, almost single-handedly prevents black's attack.
@@mikes1984 I don't think there's an immediate knockout blow or anything, but they're two pawns down against Magnus and their position looks really bad. All of their pawns are isolated, so they'll need pieces to protect them, and their bishop and knight are both pretty short of useful moves, while Magnus' pieces all look fantastic. Plus, they were running out of time too.
Opponent was an FM. Magnus, Naka and those top over 3000 blitz guys eat 2500 GMs for breakfast.
I wonder if opponents knowing that they are playing Magnus resign much sooner than they normally would? I’ve seen some very early resignations that even Magnus questioned.
Yes! more KG!
KG= Kinder Garten xD
Edit: I know that it is King's Gambit.
@@theunknownexplorer1944 Edit: u must be fun at parties
Im a newer chess player. I don't understand how he got checkmate with that rook if the opponent still had like 3 more places to move which included A8, C8, and C7. I just don't see it.
At 1:11 why didn’t Magnus put him in check? After he moves he then could take his castle. Very interesting he didn’t do that. He obviously had another plan. He still won...so I guess it doesn’t matter?
Why did firemarshal resign?
1:21 Why didn't he play knight c7?? Seems easy, forking a king and the rook ..
Whites king is underfire from blacks white bishop
kevin kütt ah okay
Knight pinned by a6 bishop.
"If the king does not lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow?"
- Lelouch vi Britannia
1:23 is there a reason why he didn't go C7 directly
Black’s rook is pining the white knight. Magnus knight cant go c7 because his king would be in check
@@luisguerrero1089 Blacks bishop*
@@luisguerrero1089 Thanks!
1:12 Why does he not play c7?
Because it's an illegal move. The bishop would check the white king.
What’s stopping Nc7 at 01:22?
the knight is pinned against the king
Bishop on a6 :)
@@tanishksharma3305 After castle then isn't the bishop on a6 free? I'm extremely new to chess, but I don't really see the downside here
@@twixles6297Black Bishop (A6) is threating white King (E2).
@@twixles6297 The bishop threatens the white king. The black king got nothing to do with this.
LOVE King's Gambit! Can anyone please explain why at 1:18 "a4 looks sensible" than c4? Also, where can I find the PGN of this game to do my own analysis?
Because c4 blocks the white bishop
A4 immediately opens the A file for the rook and an attack on the enemy king. Generally it is also better to move pawns to the center of the board.
@@paulkim6742 Thank you.
B5 to c7 early on... Did magnus miss this?
I thought the same but the king was pinned by the bishop.
It's called Steinitz Gambit
Love the King’s Gambit
If I put my King on e2 I would resign immediately
Just coming on here for a bit of motivation before I play my next game.... Ok I'm back from my game, I lost.
Hey magnus drinking water just like us!!!
White: Kg7? 4:22
White: Kf5? 5:16
Kg7 at 4:22 wouldve been a Rook and a pawn for two pieces, it looked like a mistake for me since his other Rook was kinda useless at h1.. he totally missed Kf5 tho
He seems like a nice guy.
praise all GM that play king gambit,
Why the game ended?
4:28
I thought Carlsen would go for Nxf7 forking 2 rooks and the bishop... He had better plans
At 4:32 you can go knife f7 also. If I was you I would get it for sure
4:20 why not f7?
5:17 NF4 fork! I saw it before Magnus, should I play world championship now?
1:01 why black dosen't play qh5 check followed by queen captures in b5 to win a clean piece?
Konstantinos Mp As soon as the king moves the bishop protects that knight
@@ryanmanning2319 thanks I can't believe I missed something so obvious
I'm new to chess.. can someone explain why he wouldn't go knight to C7 at 1:24 and capture the rook?
Knight pinned to king by the bishop
hey magnus i sent you a friend request on chess24 did you get it
It shouldn't surprise me any more how Magnus can just play "anything" against a 2,700 player and dismantle him with ease....but it still does! It's just effortless.
hikaru has defeated gms with bongcloud 🥴
@@dhruvyadav7715 Hikaru is an amazing player. But he’s in an inferior league to Magnus. Then again, so is everyone.
Why's he not take the fork at 1:09? Is it considered bad manners? Or does he just not think it is fun?
Csn someone tell me why he didnt knight c7 before he castled???
0:54 Qh5+
Ivan Nikolov Magnus is playing the main line of the Steinitz gambit. Black can’t actually gain anything from that check.
Then Nf3 and queen would be out of position
..... You really play Chess ?
@5:17, Nf5?
At 1:06 isn’t black goes queen h5 just winning a knight, or is it bad positionally?
You just made me realize that after Kf2 Qxb5 Bxb5, black is one piece up
Can any1 explain to me why he doesnt do horse c7 in 1:10? Is it a bad move? For me it seems good
It is illegal his night is pinned by the bishop on a6
can't, knight is pinned to the king
1:10 what about knight to c7 forking the king and the rook…
Bishop on a6 is pinning it
4:23 Why Not Knight f7 capturing the pawn and forking the two rooks?
Because if he goes Nf7, he loses a bishop, magnus takes a rook, then he loses his knight. It would be a 6 for 6 trade
Ah okay, thank you :)
1:08 Anyone who plays chess better than me know why Magnus didn’t play knight takes on c7 here forking the rook and the king? Seems like a good move
Moving that knight isnt possible since the knight is pinned by black's light square bishop (look at the white king's position)
Atharva Sathe ah yes. Thank you. It is clear now
1:09 Why didn't he play knight C7?
Isn't possible
@@fb-hh6nk Oh didn't see that, thanks.
He is having fun with 2800! I am 1600 something and thinking of going pro
2:45 e7 -> g4?
01:07 why does he not play knight to C7? Check and then take the tower. Its more valuable than the knight
Because the rook is inactive at that point and if knight takes the opponent can easily take back a trapped knight. 2 extra points isn't worth giving up positional advantage
@@Happy123 That might be true. But for me (as a beginner) I always try to trick the opponent so that in the end I can win easily with two rocks and pawns against only one rock for example
The knight is pinned by the bishop, look closely at the white's king
Even Magnus miss forks. I could be world champion
What fork did he miss?
@@MT-lt3dh ?? He didn't miss any forks? What's with the "yawnnn!!!" ?
@@MT-lt3dh Do you mean r/whooosh? that applies a little better
4:22
@@raduniculae9293 Yeah, if he goes for that 3-way fork, bishop takes, and he loses a positional advantage.
Why did his opponent resign?
1:20 white could have played nC7, forking rook and destroying black's ability to castle
@@ladyfurytv you're right, thank you!
Did FireMarshall resign?
If you ever put your night in front of my Bishop I will most certainly take your night and you can believe that... KNights are worth much more than a bishop
fork on 4:26.....why not?
1:10 why not c7?
the knight is pinned
shimke thanks
At 04:26 why won't be go for Knight f7?
Aplub Dunk I think because Bxf4
I’m a noob at chess so can someone explain why magnus didn’t move Kc7 at 1:16
The knight is pinned
@@qwenikhil Since we're taking noob questions, can you also explain the resignation? I'm not seeing it for some reason (yes, I know everyone else here has the ability to see 5 or 6 moves ahead, but I'm not there yet)
1:25 why didnt he go with knight c7?
Same thing at 4:28 knight f7
His knight is pinned!
4:26 Nf7? Attacking both rooks??
He loses a bishop and knight for a rook if he does that. Not worth it if you ask me

magnnus missed up a fork
*Magnus has a strong attack and a safe king*
Magnus: Let's trade Queens and go for the endgame which is winning for me.
The man, the myth, the legend.
Magnus should really start making videos analyzing games he finds interesting. Similar to Agadmator. I bet it would be really popular.
agadmator became quite dull and every video feels like its the same game. These magnus matches are so refreshing in comparison
Why are yall comparing magnus to fuckin agadmator lmao
@@blankplanet Jerry on ChessNetwork is excellent
I don't know why agadmator is even popular at all. Like, I too can click through GM games while reading off computer evaluations.
He contributes very little other than a cool accent and a flippant attitude.
@Rob Draper fair enough. I don't have the time, talent, or inclination to do better myself. But I think zibbit for example does :)
To answer all the "why doesn't Magnus do [insert move] at [timestamp]?" questions:
It's because he's Magnus
Well said. Let's just appreciate that answer for a moment
Im about to comment one for asking😂
How about NO..?
Funny, I have just asked that .
Two pinned knights don't phase Magnus, he's always cool as a cucumber.

5:19 Magnus didn´t see the fork. Just like me. Now I can sleep better.
Yep he missed two
There's a fork before that as well.
I'm around 1,350 and I saw two forks. He didn't fork on purpose 100% although I have no idea why
@@immagamer782 when is the other fork?

i love magnus he always reminds me to drink water
"guess that the objective evaluation is that It's pretty good for me"
"Stop quoting unmemorable quotes"
@piggypigpig Why are you trying to stifle freedom of expression?
Magnus: “okayhh”
Start of every match.. he should just say “ok, time for another win”
Insightful listening to what a super grandmaster is thinking during a game.
"The objective evaluation doesn't matter in a blitz game. I would say the objective evaluation looks pretty good for me"
looked like a terrible position, never in doubt!!
He's a monster!
And I wish Magnus would explain why the opponent gave up. It’s not always obvious to beginners like myself. But it would probably take 2-3 minutes to explain all of the options. Chess, can’t decide if I like it or hate it...
in this case he gave up, because he was running out of time. in a worse position without threats there was nothing to hope for
So glad someone else said this. I don’t feel completely stupid now.
I love watching Stefan Salvatore play chess.
Believe in the LORD JESUS CHRIST and be saved.
1:17 what about Nxc7+?
so effortless!
The background was shot in monochrome to bring the forefront into focus. 15 shades of grey.
It's the first time I've ever seen 4 pawn islands in a chess game. It's remarkable. :D
Im a rookie in chess but i dont understand why he did not play the knight to c7 in 1:15
Same , if anyone can explain why he does not go for the fork , that d be great
@@julest.9645 The knight is pinned by the bishop, cant move because it would put him in check
@@joaosilva8269 aaa, mira porque era, obrigado joao
Absolute pin to the king. Any move with the knight is illegal.
Whoever has the option to go first has the advantage in this game that's a straight up fact because the defender has always got to defend
What a pleasure to watch Magnus play.
At first, I'm thinking, "What is he doing? Does this make any sense", "Is he drunk"?.
And then he drops the hammer. Truly brilliant.
is there a reason magnus doesn't go knight c7 check at 1:07?
Illegal move, his king would be in check from the bishop
Magnus missed two major plays w the knights lol
Can you imagine playing Chess for so long that you just keep playing it over and over again for a very long time?
Did Magnus get a camera stand?!!!! 🌅🎯🎉🎉🎉
can we get these Magnus banter blitz videos in a playlist? thanks!
1:25 Nc7
Bro how did you think of a better move than carlsen
No the knight is pinned to the king by the bishop
4:26
*Ok*
5:21
*Ok*
Humble question: Why didnt he check with the white knight at c7? 1:24 into the video. What am I missing?
It was pinned
@@johnnylabedzki Many thanks, saw it now.
Magnus, I like you but I hate your bottle! Please drink from a glass.
@Stephen Mikus don't tell me what I say.
I suck at chess. Why didnt he do knight c7 at 1:11?
It's pinned by the bishop.
The knight cannot move. It is pinned to the king
at 5:17 he could move the knight to f5
Soooo, did the player resigned or something? Why did the game end at 8 seconds left?
Yes, other payer resigned
3 pawns against 5 pawns with such a safe white king, and with 9 seconds left.. its impossible to win.. even if the opponent would be 1000 elo weaker
The guy plays 4) ... ç4
After 5) Qh4 +, he goes Ke2 ans still manages to win.
I'm now convinced that ExtraTerrestrials do exist and that Magnus is one of them ;-))
