One of the best stories I ever heard was a guy who was the main breadwinner and discovered his stay-at-home wife was cheating on him. It was a no fault divorce state so even though she was the one cheating, if they split she'd get half of everything, plus probably custody of the kids as she was the primary caregiver. So over the course of several years he hid his knowledge, and encouraged her to go back to school to get a degree in nursing. A high-paying job. Once she got her high-paying job, he magnanimously volunteered to become a stay-at-home dad in order to support her career. After several years he'd managed to flip the script to where now SHE was the high earner, while HE was the primary caregiver. See where this is going? Yup! He got the kids, the house, and the alimony. This caused her to end up working a lot more, which made her seem "boring" to her side piece and he ended up dumping her for a younger model too.

The 4th story is just downright evil- I'd understand if the man was dangerous, but she prevented both him and his children from saying their final goodbyes-
Also it will never fail to piss me off seeing cases where a parent who isn't biologically related to a child, is expected to pay for that child (the exception being adoption) after a divorce.
Why not go after the real fricken' dad?? Also, that "best interest in the child" part is BS in a lot of cases

The state (depending on the state) gets a cut out of child support payments (percentage dependent on what state you are in) and the courts decision for the most part is not in the best interest of the child or couple but actually in the best interest of the state due to that percentage cut, this is unfortunately a huge incentive for the court to screw over the husband or wife depending on who has the most income and assets. In the case of cheating, the court won't go after the biological father if he is a broke deadbeat and instead go after the soon to be ex-husband that is already being processed by the court. "In the best interest of the child" nah, more like the best interest of the court, state, and involved law firms. Now this don't happen all the time and is entirely dependent on the state, courts, and various firms handling the case, but it is unfortunately a common enough occurrence.

Unfortunately, the courts ONLY CARE about the best interest…ie FINANCIAL INTEREST… of the kid. If the individual has been providing for this kid, the court will order them to continue. I genuinely feel for the guy or girl but please imagine if the spouse learns YEARS LATER that the child isn’t theirs. They cut the child out of their lives except for child support. THATS ALSO SHITTY as the kid sees that person as their parent and suddenly NOPE FUCK YOU.

(UK Here) The parents of a friend of mine got a divorce after the wife cheated on the husband. Wife has not worked a day in her life. Husband is self-employed but makes decent money.
Wife wants everything (the house, the pets, the furniture, everything), including custody, and has no intention to negotiate.
Wife then admits IN COURT NO LESS that the only reason she wants custody is so she can claim benefits and has no intention of finding work. Daughter wants to nothing to do with her mother as she was the one that cheated and was generally a poor parent.
Husband gets full custody and a few other items (the wife got the House), and asks for the pets (two perfectly healthy cats), and offered to straight up BUY them when she refused.
Wife proceeded to have both cats put down. Husband and Daughter now have nothing to do with her, to the point that Daughter refers to her mother as 'that woman'.

What he was sent to jail for was not hanging up on his ex immediately. He made the mistake of explaining to her that her that he couldn't violate the order by talking to her. He spent long enough doing it he went to jail.

My brother went through a terrible divorce that has completely ruined his life and mental health. Both he and his now ex-wife got their education in the same exact field. He has a Master's degree while she has a Doctorate. Since he's a hard worker and she's a spoiled entitled princess, he landed a great job that he loves and she barely worked in her field.
Divorce happens, he has to pay alimony, child support, and even HER lawyer fees which incidentally made him too poor to afford his own lawyer. She then decides to move halfway across the country with my nephew for seemingly no other reason than spite. She had zero job prospects.
So, as a result of that, in order for my brother to see his son, he had to pay to fly there, pay to fly both of them back to his house, pay to fly both of them back to her, and then pay to fly back home since he was still too young to fly alone.
Fast forward, my brother decides to upend his entire life, leave a job he loves, to follow them so he could be closer to his son. Only job he could find was a Jewish bakery making barely above minimum wage.
Now he's too poor to pay her lawyers so they are threatening to have him thrown in jail.
Makes you truly never want to get married if you're a man in this country.

      - How can the wife take the Husbands property before the marriage?
      - How come women take custody of the child 90% of the time?
      - Why does the law force men to pay for child support when it's not their kid?

-I do not know how a wife can take property before a marriage. That is for a lawyer to figure out. They get paid a lot of money to do that.
-Pay child support to another man's kid? a) they think it is their kid when 75% of married women cheat. b) they raised that kid as their own so the judge feels that it is his because he accepted it.
-Why is the wife taking all the man's property. Depends on the state. In the Peoples Republic of California, they believe that a wife should be supported in the level she was at the divorce. This is impossible but the law says that is ok even if the man lives in a box in an alley. In Arizona, the wife has her own property that he cannot touch. He has his own property that she cannot touch so the courts must divide ONLY the property they owned together. I would NEVER get divorced in California, I would lie and move to Arizona or Texas where the courts are 'more fair'.
One judge told me that if one party was happy and the other sad, he made a bad decision so the best decisions are the ones where both parties are unhappy. Another judge told me that "This is a court of LAW, not Justice. You want the LAW, hire a better attorney. You want Justice, buy a gun."

Oh man, I got a juicy one. This story came from a friend of mine about her ex husband. Spoiler: this story has domestic violence and child engagement in it. Also, this happened back in the late 50’s so not everything is word for word. My friend tells this story often and in more detail so I’ll try to be short and to the point.
So my friend got divorced from her first husband of 30 something years, they married young (she was 15, he was 19) and had been bffs since they were kids. They split mutually and remained good friends, they talked every day they just didn’t want to be married to each other anymore. Friend is a marine and while out with a few other marines this creepy dude catches her attention. He’s just staring at her and licking his lips. She puts the other marines between her and him and tries to stay as far as possible. For the next few months he follows her and after a night of drinking and having fun with some friends, friend wakes up in a strange house she doesn’t know with a ring on her finger and the creep sleeping next to her. He got her blackout drunk and forced her to sign marriage papers. For the next two years she tries to get a divorce and get away from him. He beats her almost to death on a few occasions and threatens to do the same to “the kids” if she doesn’t do what he wants. He had four kids of his own that were in the house with them(oldest is 11 the youngest was 2 months when they married). She takes the abuse so he doesn’t hurt the kids. Then the lightbulb moment. She decides to take some revenge for all the nightmares he’s put her through. She takes the kids to her ex husband’s house as him watch them while she goes to the courthouse and gets divorce and custody papers. When she gets home the creep is already passed out on the couch. She proceeds to get him blackout drunk and sign the papers, saying their papers for the kids’ school. Once it’s done she goes back to the courthouse and files them. She took him for everything, the house, car and motorcycle, tools furniture everything. She leaves the signed papers on the coffee table, packs her backs and leaves for the military base. When she comes back in the morning he’s gone. She doesn’t see him until a few days later when she and a few other marines are cleaning out the house to sell it. She tells him to stay away from her and the kids as he no longer has custody and a restraining order has been filed. He leaves and she never sees him again more does he try to contact her. 😂word of advice, don’t threaten a marine.

I started to question her" job" travels and she quickly asked for divorce (before I could caught her in act) pretending to the others that I am verbally violent and domineering ...
Evidently that the law and the friends never ask for proof when a woman says-so. She got the house and the kid. Then she dated a policeman and she told him that I am the worse liar, bad and violent.
He provoked me many times refusing my right to visit my kid, put his colleagues to question me , she made a phony complaint for harassment... it was hell for me because I was innocent.
But one day by chance I saw my ex-wife car on the road and inside: her and the previous lover.
I texted a message to the cop : "I know you are on duty because she is having a lot of fun with the non existing lover I told you about". He tracked her , find out the truth, first beating of her life ( she officially had an accident in the stairway) and all charges on me were dropped.
Eventually the family and friends got also the info.

She claims her divorce was "really, really, bad" and that she didn't want to date for a very long time. Next thing you know, around the time she's going to college (for another degree in something, IDK), she already has a new boyfriend, probably not even four years after her "really, really bad" divorce. Since then, the guy she was married to has deleted his Facebook page probably because no one would believe him, and who knows, he probably committed suicide, or is living a life of ruin and shambles. She's a definite cheat, a liar, and a swindler.
It just goes to show that even those who were raised and grew up next to you (and to add she was raised by a religious family), are even capable of pulling such heinous shit.

Been happily married for 11 years. Was in a couple of crappy relationships before him. Marry someone who faces problems in the relationship as the two of you vs. the problem, not as you vs. them. Marry someone who can accept being told "no".
This is worst red flag there is that will never get better so just dump them when it happens: early on, if you confront them about an issue you have in your relationship with them, and they respond by deflecting accountability, blaming you, and reframing themselves as a victim of your "attacking" them, when all you wanted to do was gain their cooperation to resolve something. That's the kiss of death in a relationship. Believe me when I say there is no fixing this character flaw.

Also, taking a life is way worse than stealing money, it would have been one thing if he did to for self-defense, or he caught her while stealing the money but none of that happened. Most of the money goes to the state, not the child. Not a lawyer but rather a construction worker. I was working on a job and is often the case the building was surrounded by mud from rain and construction equipment. One of the guys in the crew drove in in a nice plush car. We immediately asked him why he hadn't driven his truck in. He said he and his wife had a divorce hearing and they made a list of possessions. The judge looked at the list and told his soon to be ex, you're entitled to half the possessions and gave her the right to choose which items. She chose his truck, his hunting gear and all his fishing gear. My first wife fought me for a year over my building us a new home. She kept telling me I was stupid for wasting our money. That I wouldn't be able to build the home myself. Well I got it done and it turned out to be a beautiful brick home. The economy took a downturn and all my wifes relatives were losing their homes but she was telling everyone how smart we were to have built our home when we did and that it was paid for. Down the road I had a serious health issue and couldn't work for a bit. My wife told me she wasn't happy and wanted a divorce so she could go out and live her life. I gave it to her. Our kids remained with me. Next thing I know I get the divorce decree and the judge gave her a lien on the house for twice what the house cost me to build. I had no money and no child support from her and couldn't work at the time. The courts are never fair with the guys no matter what.

The guy had proof that her brother was innocent, but he was being thrown under the bus by the gunman. So my friend made his ex an offer she couldn't refuse: he gets everything in the divorce, or her brother gets sent to death row. She agreed to the demands, and after the divorce was made official, my friend cleared his ex-brother-in-law's name.

1:20 In most US states arson is the illegal burning of a piece of property that doesn't belong to you or burning a property for profit/ esp. insurance fraud, there is no law against intentionally burning down your own building for the pleasure of it~ other than some community open-fire usage or permit regulations~ that also regulate burning leaves in the fall and the like, it only becomes arson if the owner tries to collect insurance on the fire.
