I totally get that but - you’re gonna be limited to how tall you can go when something is free standing due to stability so from a ‘record’ point of view I’m just not sure it’s fair saying the rock face is the tallest point of the coaster.
@@CoastersThrillsAndAirtimeHills it is fair. It's a terrain coaster, but the height is still calculated from the bottom to the top. They are just doing it on a hill for convenience, not cheating at all. It's just luck that they have those hills around the park, the same way dollywood is lucky for having that awesome terrain where lightning rod sits, or Kennywood with Phantom. Btw Phantom was never the highest because of the lift, but had its station been on the same level of the bottom of the drop, it would've been the highest at its time

@@CoastersThrillsAndAirtimeHills You're right. Should be classified differently, I'd say. Nothing takes away the fact that it's still the tallest and fastest, you just can't count the cliff height portion.
For the thrill of the ride, how you get the max height doesn't matter. But using the cliff and mountains is certainly easier and cheaper than building all the infrastructure on flat land. So both perspectives are legitimate depending on why you bring it up.
I think the rock face is fair, after all rides like nemesis, oblivion, lightning rod and phantoms revenge all use their terrain to get a large drop and no one complains about them

I don’t know if Saudi’s plans to build these futuristic city’s to attract tourists to replace the oil money will work, at the end of the day it is still very old and backwards with its laws and regulations and how it treats women. It needs to change its culture really to attract big tourist numbers, I know many dislike the Grand Prix being there because of their culture.
Things are changing. Dubai is becoming a lot less strict with the ‘arms covered’ rule being somewhat redundant now (when I visited, people didn’t follow the dress code despite me following it to the letter).
