    I would be really surprised if tourists actually come to Saudi Arabia for Six Flags Quiddya. There's just way too much conflict in the Middle East.

      Not all Middle Eastern countries are equal. Saudi is a dictatorship, but it isn't some kind of unstable war zone. And don't forget, Saudi is the site of one of the biggest pilgrimages in the world. They get liteal millions of tourists every year from all over the world, if you want to call them tourists. If this park can get a fraction of that traffic, they can thrive quite well. Although most pilgrims come in from Jeddah rather than Ryadh, so that's the only thing that doesn't add up.

    Imntamin's record breakers have downtime usually because of hydraulic launches. The LSMs are usually pretty reliable.

  • @lancehutch

    A few corrections: Fastest point is after the drop off the cliff, there is a launch there that boosts you in the valley before entering the airtime hill. The first lift is a LSM, not cable. 2nd hill is a LSM launch to 100mph.

      The mountain is the tallest point. There was a presentation created to advertise the coaster and it said the height of the hill would be around 530 feet. This is somewhat outdated as the height of the cliff top was also shorter than it is now, but it still confirms the hill is shorter than the cliff top section. Also, the arch hill is visibly shorter than the cliffs.

    I still doubt this will open, I think we're looking at the 2nd Ring Racer which only operated for 4 days. However unlike Ring Racer, I think the problems with this ride may be unmanagable. The LSM's are certainly going to overheat often both because of the desert climate and the stress on them, another concern is if they can get enough electricity. Could this be the next Batman and Robin the Chiller, I don't know but I'm still skeptical of this opening.

    The hill is 538ft tall, the cliff is 604ft, there is not gotta be a chain, it is a lift launch for the 1st hill like Maverick. 2nd is a 100mph launch so yea gravity works like that lol. This isn't, like the speed isn't to scale in the video. The windshield on the cars is huge and about an inch thick. Formula Rossa isnt accident prone or unreliable, many Intamins overseas are not apparently and yhe Saudis have the money to throw at it til it works. This is a giant Intamin Multilaunch LSM coaster, now that they have installed plenty smaller ones using yhe now Intamin owned Indrivetec for LSMs, this shouldn't be a major issue. If any i feel like it will the vehicles and their wheels especially that becomesa problem, like Velocicoaster or I305. Aldo Kingda Ka is a great ride and you get airtime on that hill, especially up front. I miss it. I wonder if Falcons Flight will be a success though, gotta rode it before it is shut down or redesigned or worse. Definitely aint gonna be 2024 though.

The rampant human exploitation, awful laws against LGBT folks, ridiculous lack of infrastructure, and horrifying murders of political opponents (Remember the bonesaw incident?) make it a place I’ll never ever travel to as a tourist. You do realise the straight track on the drop is a launch? It doesn’t make sense to me either. And also intamin confirmed that you will not need to wear goggles to ride this coaster as it will have a glass like shield on the front of each train.

    • @ninjxmi
      @ninjxmi 6 місяців тому

      yeah those straight sections are all launches, because according to ML Designs, you would need the launch down the 640ft drop (off the cliff) to compensate for the wind friction, and I say that because in his rendering, he needed to do that make the coaster go over the 530ft airtime hill

    why wouldn’t they use a lsm lift like maverick for the first lift so they don’t have to use two different lift systems

    • @blackeagle1985
      @blackeagle1985 6 місяців тому +1

      His Video was made based on outdated information. The first hill is a Maverick style LSM launched lift hill. So no two different systems on one coaster.

    Even if the cliff was cheating it would still be the tallest due to the camelback after the drop off the cliff which the camelback is 500 ft high

    Yes, this coaster IS happening, and it looks awesome with two drops over 500' (the drop off the cliff will be just under 600' and the drop off the following camelback will be just over 500') even if it has no inversions.
    Less important than no inversions: I don't want to be killed by Saudis for not being Islamist or my sexual experiments as a 15 yer old 40 years ago, but I digress.
    You're saying it's not that long a ride. REALLY? from the 1st LSM to the breaks its' almost two and a half minutes. The Voyage is 100 seconds and SD 2000 is about 80 seconds. WTF coaster are you comparing this to that makes this "not super duper long"? It's gonna cover over 2 miles in 2.5 minutes. Are you still complaining about this but not Saudi's public beheadings? Please explain.
    The biggest drop is NOT 640'; 640' is the HEIGHT. The biggest drop (off the cliff) is under 600 and the 2nd biggest (off the following camelback) is just over 500' Also: there is no "lift"; there are two LSM launches. They can be as tame as Mavericks 1st LSM launch, but even though it doesn't feel like a lunch: it is. In fact the one up the cliff should reach 100 MPH, but that speed will be reached gradually, nothing like TTD or Kingda Ka's launch, (even if this coaster is better overall, which I'll admit it is) Also: the cliff drop is probably bigger than the following camelback because it contains the launch towards the end of it that gets you to the top speed required to get the train up the following camelback, since speed tends to bleed off without boosters. The camelback itself is supposed to have a height of about 530' which would give the drop off of it the stat of just over 500'. but this coaster does NOT feature a drop of (or over) 600'; 640' is the height stat, NOT the drop stat. LEARN THE DIFFERENCE!
    You also mentioned that Intamin's record breaking coasters have a lot of down time, and that some people this coaster will be a "big Scam" and for others it'll be "unforgettable". I think for anybody that finds this a big scam will also find that an unforgettable experience, just in a different way. 🤣
    Thanks for posting this, I'm sure it wan't easy to accommodate all coaster enthusiasts, but that'w what happens when you include Arabia. If they only didn't behead people publicly for being gay might be good for them, not that I'm gay but not that I had a choice in not being gay, so why should I care, especially since U.S.A. is a collapsing empire but at least doesn't hate people for what they had no choice in for who they love.
    In the meantime: get your stats right: Falcons' Flight's height may be 640' but the DROP is in between 500' and 600' as well as it's 2nd biggest drop. If you care about coaster stats you'd know drop trumps height EVERY TIME. So please: don't fall for the "height hype". Thanks for posting.

    Between this, The Line, and all the other economic/political stuff happening in Saudi, I have a gut feeling its all gonna be an economic disaster for them. They're trying to take one of the least hospitable ecosystems in the world for humans and develop it into a world leading tourism/living spot. This coaster is gonna have so many issues in that desert.
