    Hey man, just got my first couple runs in on the R3 Pro. Its been great so far! Have you had a chance to test the lower shock mount kit or any of the optional suspension dampers? I'm running on a relatively un-groomed car park track where traction isnt ideal. I'm thinking softer suspension up front and less droop /stiffer in the rear to help with some understeer on corner exits when on the power. Curious for your thoughts?

      I wouldnt worry about the lower shock mount kit that's through raceopt. I don't see it lowering the center of gravity much but would make the bulkheads weaker as there is not longer a shock tower to support them. I do have the RAS shocks and they are nice but not needed, the shock shocks are amazing and better then kits twice its value. The springs are fairly stiff and being on a lower traction area, softer springs would be good. I would look at getting 20w oil for the shocks as a starting point. Also if you happen to have a battery powered leaf blower to blow where you are running the car of some of the dust, I do that. If the track surface isn't prepared, don't expect great things from any on road car

      @@cndhobbies5220 What about the Reduced Air Shocks? Which do you recommend and what are they meant for? Asphalt? Any improvements over the standard?

    • @cndhobbies5220
      @cndhobbies5220  Рік тому +1

      @Duffy Rides that would be the RAS shocks. They are awesome for rebuilding as they end up having no air in them after the first try. I havent had issues but I hear they leak more often then standard shocks. The idea behind the shock is the bore is tapered and while it compresses, it acts like a thicker oil. In the forums and facebook groups I am in, people have switched to standard shocks. I don't suggest switching to them at this time

    I just bought the R3 Pro version of this car. Should be here next week. Looking forward to it. Will be driving it on asphalt / car park tracks. Where do you get the parts from in the US? And would you consider any upgrades to the Pro or MT3 conversion kits?

      I absolutely love the r3-pro. I have more enjoyment with the pro over my xray t4 2019 and arc r12. I have bought most of my parts from aliexpress, from the same seller I bought the kits from. A link to the sellers aliexpress is in the description. They have been absolutely fantastic to deal with and I always get my stuff way ahead of estimate arrive date. I believe the r3-pro to be more forgiving then the t3m. The only upgrades I get for the chassis is the muli-link which great increases durability up front. The steering knuckles are the weak point but do hold up very well with the added support. Swapping in xray or another higher end brand front cvd's might be an option aswell due to the pins in the cvds breaking (again this is all because of hitting stuff hard!) Grabbing your usual spares is good to do, however I have not broken a single arm, rear hub, tie rod on the pro (between me and my brother, we are running 3 pros)
