I've watched around a third of the Indy 500's. This one is going down as one of the funner ones. Thanx Indycar for all the pre-race events, like Alonsos licensing run, and the qualifying runs live on youtube! hope to see more of that kind of "behind the curtain" stuff ;)
I think the reason Ryan and Alonso's engine blew was the fact they kept running the revs high. Especially Ryan. Through turn 1 and turn 3 he was on the limiter a few times, putting more stress on the engine.
I grew up listening to the race on the radio due to local blackouts. I listened again this year and the difference is really apparent just in the first few laps. As the race starts the first few laps are some of the most exciting as everyone is maneuvering for position. Based on how ESPN reported it you would have hardly known that anything of special happened when the race started.
Oh it's awful. ESPN/ABC misses stuff EVERY single race. I watch the ticker at the top of the screen and I notice that a change of position has happened, and then I NEVER see a reply for that pass. That happens several times every race, they always miss so many things.
I remember that day, we left KFC chicken in the fridge with ice on top, the ice melted, chicken got wet, we open the container at the race, the chicken is ruined, but it’s also 90 something degrees, so the chicken literally cooked right there
I legit can’t believe I picked Sato to win before the race started. I just had this feeling that I really wanted him to win. I had so many emotions going on when he crossed the finish line but all I did was stand there....and get a million high fives ✋. I may have kept whispering for Castroneves like um “Don’t you dare pass him! I know you want a 4th win BUT I DONT CARE!”
The Greatest Spectacle in Racing!! Never disappoints!!!!

何度見ても残り5周はドキドキするww 佐藤さんおめでとう!
Had Hélio tried his pass on the back straight, he might have won. Either way, this was a great race!
I was new this year and will be watching next year cant wait 😂😆
Fantastic race. I just got home from Indianapolis.
Like if you attended!

Chris Allen espn only cares about football and basketball. everything else they only buy to keep them away from the competition. and it shows.
Go Honda !!!!
