  • I get asked a lot if my hair is still texlaxed and the simple answer is yes, The only issue is I texlax only every 6 months because I am most of the time wearing weaves, so this is me texlax touching up my hair.
    Please leave any question regarding this process in the comments and I'll do a texlax q&a soon.

    I’m going to drop this comment here for all the misinformation going on regarding relaxers and cancer 🙄. The FDA states that hair straightening processors can cause cancer. When you read the actual FDA report they are referring to keratin treatments not relaxers. People are falling for the propaganda and have not read the actual FDA report on this. They refer to hair straightening processes that release formaldehyde when heat is applied, those are keratin straightening treatments not relaxers.

    • @Ohemaa
      @Ohemaa  9 місяців тому +7

      Keratins treatments like the Brazilian keratin straightening treatment because it was made with formalin (which is diluted formaldehyde, I have encountered that product before and could smell the formaldehyde in it)

      Hi Ohemaa,
      I really enjoyed your video!
      Questions:
      1. Which relaxers (brands) would you recommend for texlaxing coarse hair and what strength (regular, mild etc.) do you think is best?
      2. I know you mentioned leaving it on your hair for five minutes, but how long should the application time be so it wouldn't fully relax or overprocess the hair?
      3. Do you find that you need heat to dry your hair, or are you able to air dry your hair without it becoming tangled/matted?

    • @Ohemaa
      @Ohemaa  9 місяців тому

      Yes I agree its texturing with relaxer by essentially dilating the relaxer.

    • @Ohemaa
      @Ohemaa  9 місяців тому

      Yes I agree it's texturing with relaxer by essentially dilating the relaxer and keeping it in for a very short time. if done right it will yield the same texturized results every time there is a retouch needed. also I retouch about once every6-8 months

    You do a nice job with your hair; But people without experience should have a professional do this. The likelihood of overlapping previously processed hair is high. Also that cholesterol conditioner is a protein conditioner. Protein conditioners are used to stop breakage and harden the hair, not moisturize; And using it too often will make the hair brittle. Protein treatments are only to be done every few weeks when a person is having breakage problems; aynd always to be followed with a moisturizing treatment.🙏🏾❤

    Love the cut - it looks amazing. Have you ever tried Aveda Damage remedy intensive hair mask or Aveda Botanicals? The first one is super good with heavy moisturizing and silicone for protection, and the second is good for strengthening (I usually do an overnight to get the most) they have travel sizes so you don't have to commit to the full size. I love Mielle, but personally when mybhair gets pressed, I need heavier deep treatments

    • @Ohemaa
      @Ohemaa  9 місяців тому

      I don't know really, all I know is no lye is harsher on your hair. for me I refer the lye and not let it touch my scalp.

    • @sheliamurdaugh4259
      @sheliamurdaugh4259 9 місяців тому

      Lye is harsher on your scalp, but it's better for hair. You should never apply relaxers directly to your scalp to solve that problem. No lye is not as harsh on your scalp but worse on your hair because it burns less. People have a tendency to leave it on longer, which results in damage to your hair. No lye is very drying to your hair, and over time, you get calcium build-up, which causes your hair to become dry and brittle.
