    It’s so clear watching these videos that Danny could be a PLAYER. He is clearly incredibly smart and has the body awareness to internalize, understand, and recreate what he is seeing VERY quickly in these lessons. Fun to see how quickly he takes to coaching and improves!

      The thing no one seems to understand is Trent couldn’t care less about golf he doesn’t even have any original takes when talking about it and that’s his actual job he just piggybacks of everything everyone else says and he does a bad job at that

    Another incredible (now fully bookmarked) video. Thanks so much for doing this Dan. Having access to this kind of information is invaluable. A lot of concepts that made me think “of course!” And made sense to a long time golfer with a bit of mechanical context but also very easy to digest for anyone looking to improve! I appreciate Dan breaking things down and explaining the real feel.

    A great drill to reenforce this teaching is tucking a towel under both arm pits while you practice chipping. Will force your chest to turn more back and through and will force your arms to stay connected.

    On the long chip segment, your misses were due to your head going back away from target and you finish with an arch in your back. If you work to finish vertically over your left foot you’ll gain even more consistency.

    I liked this video a lot but I am a bit confused. I’ve heard good chippers like Padraig Harrington, Wesley Bryan, Dan Grieve’s and others say that when chipping, your backswing should be longer than your downswing. They advocate taking a nice backswing and letting gravity bring the club back down nice and easy. This almost seems like the opposite approach.

    Only just shy of 6 mins into this…and its good so far, so i apologize if im jumping the gun here. Why does every lesson on chipping seem to have perfect lies on a fairway perfectly manicured ? Even with my crappy technique i can more than occasionally get up and down in this ideal siTuation ..itd be great to see typical chipping situation technique,from rough or a not pristine fringe us regular hacks play from 😬✌️👍🏼

    Team steep. They know yall are talking about Joe Mayo. He’s a savant. I do believe there are multiple ways to skin a cat. But you’re leaving information and context out of Mayo’s theories which is unfair

    • @JustusSeiber
      @JustusSeiber 10 місяців тому +1

      Any good player, give them a 7 iron and tell them to hit out of a divot in the fairway. What are they going to do? Put ball back in stance and hit down on it and try to get the leading edge down so they don’t blade or top it. I live in Texas and the ground is firm and not always a lot of grass. Rarely have a lie on tight grass where the ball is not sitting down a little. If you’re shallow, you are playing a very dangerous game trying to keep the leading edge below the equator of the ball and have predictable results. I hit down hard on every thing, more spin loft, and you’re not gonna top anything. And it’s not hard to find the sweet spot. I’m a 5-6 hcp and I only chunk a chip shot once every 2-3 rounds if that. It’s just not that hard. Look into the guys info. He’s very intelligent

      I’m scratch and this technique is incredibly easy to perfect and control. Please go ahead and tell the best players in the world who almost all chip shallow they’re “dumb af”. I’d love to see that interaction. 5 hdcp‘s seem to think they’re SME’s while not even being a good golfer. Insanity.
