I just got finished reading The Silent Patient today. I started last night and it was really good! Idk if it resonated with me due to the “childhood trauma” underlying theme throughout the book but man.. it was a great read 😊

the thing about Jennifer Hillier and Karin Slaughter's book is that their stories feel like stories first, Thrillers 2nd. idk if i'm the only one feeling like this but their books aren't like typical thrillers where they use similar tropes and stuff like that.. it's like they want to tell a story. maybe i'm not explaining it well, idk.

I loved Final girls, Lock Every Door might be my favorite thriller ever, and I really enjoyed The Last Time I Lied. (Haven’t read Home Before Dark yet, but I have it and wanna read it soon). So I LOVE Riley Sager, but Survive The Night was soooo bad IMO. But, I’m glad you liked it. So many of my favs on this list. I don’t really like Ruth Ware. I’ve read 4 of her books (and I’ll probably read the other 2) because I just struggle with her books but I keep picking them up. I don’t like her writing style I think she just overwrites all her books. Big Little Lies is life! Karin Slaughter is GOAT status! I got a signed first edition of her new book False Witness and I’m OBSESSED. I haven’t read Gillian Flynn (I KNOW, I’m a bad thriller fan) but I have Sharp Objects so I want to read that soon. I just read The Last Mrs. Parrish last week, read it in two days, real quick read. Didn’t LOVE it but really enjoyed it.
