- For me, this is the most fun method to get hold of a tonne of purple modifications. Given I am level 50 with all the best weapons, this is still possible at lower levels. If you are able to knock off a thunderjaw's disc launcher and freeze it, you will manage just fine. Stockpiling the disc launchers will allow each run to go faster and faster. Happy farming!

I found that if you 1 shot them with arrow you get skins.... dunno if its true or not!!
Rohit Iyer Think it’s random. I 1 shot them al the time and it’s still hard to get a fox or raccoon skin... When you see one, just kill em😂 Could be handy later!

Skillful, it's a pleasure to watch you play! Thanks for the advice. I tend to use my warrior bow corruption arrows to make one destroy the other, then I have one injured Thunderjaw to deal with!

As a mention, maybe is from the update or something, but i tried the method 4 times in a row and after the fast travelling the Thunderjaws are never back there and i have to choose another fast travel camp to refresh the machines, but, of course, the disk launchers are also gone. But anyway, the method is still efficient, even without disk lauchers, i find sticky bombs also nice.
Also, another mention is that i find a bit tricky the part with the override. The option`override` appear on the screen very late when i`m next to him,...it`s a matter of luck and seconds between spotting you and being in the perfect spot to override him. But yea, i find this nice because is not that easy and you have to pay more attention to do that.
Also the spot is perfect for the other resources. I finished the game
and i was always on search for blaze and echo shell pieces for fire and
tear arrows, and the Grazzer + Thunderjaw give`s you everything you
need.
I hope that the DLC is gonna be soon released.

Thanks for the update! I haven't been on Horizon for some time but certainly missing it. In a few weeks time I will be looking to release far more videos. I realise content has been rather dry for a while.
hunting grounds lvl 30. much easier and u got a merchant right on top of you so u can get rid of the excesive stuff that u'll collect.

I tie one down so I can focus on the other. I use war bow freeze arrows to freeze, then go all out with high damage sticky grenades. 12-14 sticky grenades usually does the trick for me per thunderjaw.
Each sticky grenade costs 2 blaze, but u can get blaze super easy with harvest arrows and the mob of grazers at the first hunting grounds

The best mod for the war bow if you have the dlc is a guaranteed pick up in a supply crate in the cave leading to the place you meet ourea. You have to take a detour in the cave and head down to the area where the stalkers are lurking instead of taking the right rope above you. It gives really good freeze good corruption and decent shock, just play new game plus a few times to max out that one.
It worked now my shadow hunt bow hunter arrows do like, 60 damage thanks oh and my hard points do like... 120 damage don't mention the triple arrow skill
Overiding the Behemoth convoy with the shell walkers takes care of it self :) it´s just looks awesome how the machines go at each other i am surprised no one has like made a betting channel on who will win ....

Almost forgot to say: if you want to see an epic fight, watch behemoth fight thunderjaw T-Rex, it’s a strong challenge for the two as behemoth has greater protection whereas thunderjaw is jam packed with combat weapons and a thick tale whip.
Sometimes I use this method but now i preffer corrupted arrows, so you don't need to be so near =) and you can corrupt tiny machines too for distraction and chaos add xD
I think the damage inflicted by the disc launchers is proximity sensitive. If you are up close, you are more likely to get the job done with one launcher. Also, I try not to inflict any damage on the other bots. You want the other bots to do as much damage to your pet bot as possible. Means less work for you when you turn on him and a lower resource cost. You can get the whole job done with just two tear blast arrows.
After completing my first playthrough on very hard I started farming purple mods in the same spot. I just put the difficulty on story mode and use 3 tearblast arrows to take off the disc launchers and fuck them up with 4 shots. It takes less than a minute to farm 2 Thunderjaws lmao.
The reason you managed with 1 serving of disc launcher is because of the opened up weak spot at his hip joints (the glowing orange circle) it deals massive damage equal or surpassing parts taken off

for the rope caster I was told use tear sockets because it catch them quicker and I think it's true I uses 3X tear sockets and catch things really quick
How do you re spawn the Thunderjaws without losing the disc launchers?
fast travel to the campfire and then you can see them in the distance, if you cant then just quick save a couple of times and they will appear, your disilaunchers will be where you left them
There was no point on freezing or rope-casting him. just go to town with the disc launcher.
Also, you can just go the the hunting ground with a thunderjaw that's pretty much trapped already.
TwiTch hitting frozen machines causes double the damage.
Hey buddy, you can get their disk launcher after the kill with harvest arrow, and also you’d have much more fun here after stacking up some coils from frozen wild 😊
Like I would keep killing the fireclaws in the cut then repeatedly doing new game plus on repeat to get a lot of pristine weapon coils

You really should be focusing more on Handling for your Hunter Bow. The ammo is so cheap for it that you want to be firing as fast as possible with it. You'll do a lot more damage overall that way. You do indeed want some damage mods but make Handling the priority.

The way I went at it uses few resources.
Also at this site, if you come at it from the other end you can run back to the fire and save.
Doing that actually refreshes the area and restores the Thunderjaws without having to save and restart.

In the 2nd run (without overriding), how did you have the disc launcher just lying around in the tall grass without hurting either of them?
I think I got the answer, it is from your first run. The problem is, you were able to do your first run with the override ability. I don't have that yet, so it is a bit tricky

Uhh i have 47% dmg buff isthat good? And im 12 lvl im just watching this randomly
47 is damn good but make sure you got the tinkerer ability regardless
forget the fucking launchers. the two slingshots kill them in in 15 sec. maximum on the hardest difficulty level. freeze em and use sticky bomb with the maximum of damage you can put in. if you hit the right spot its 3.6k dmg at once. you can kill everything except birds with that method quickly. and the enemies drop more valuables than the munition costs. if fill a 70 stash of mods in 20-30 minutes but not in this place.

Yep, overiding one of em has been the most easy method for me (the noob L-27 boi)
Ok So Theres an easier method for this in game and that is near meridian there is 1 thunder jaw roaming around take him out using same method in with using the arrows and the disc launcher and save your progress near the campfire next to the thunder jaw and jump off the cliff to respawn the thunder jaw.I prefer this way because it does not call out other machines that often and helps you in getting shards and tons of modifications.

In ULtra Hard its not that simple, I can override one and kill other, but still difficult

Putting tear mods on has 0 effect on the tear arrows. Their tear damage is always the same no matter what

It would have been 'Very Hard' at the time =)
What does handling even do?
You may note your arrows are more accurate if you hold R2 down for longer until the cross hairs are stationary. Handling decreases the time it takes for your cross hairs to line up, thus allowing you to pull off more accurate shots faster. Same goes for rope caster in that your fire rate will increase as I mention. I haven't tested handling on the slings but I imagine you will reach the point where you can shoot the maximum distance quicker with a handling mod(s) in there.
In short - how fast you shoot.
isn't it cheaper and quicker to just proc corruption on both? did that with behemoths, they murder each other with AoE in seconds

Too much work. Just look to the thunderjaw locAted South from there with save point a feet away and switch game to story to move along in three seconds by blowing off its gun.
I think Handling can get to almost 70%. I like to first remove Thunderjaw Disc Launchers, then freeze them and try to use both launchers. If I still need to finish them off (or can’t find one of the launchers) I just Rattler them to death.

Yeah maybe, I finished the game for my part yesterday with 100% completion and it's my favourite game I think. But I'm asking what could I do now to entertain myself now that I've finished it...
Farm for the best mods. Then start challenging yourself for fun. Something like killing the 2 Thundermaws on very hard while riding a Strider and never falling off. That should be quite a challenge for yourself even if you don't actually get any reward.

Lmao im watching this during my ng+ ultrahard playthrough and this is depressingly easy compared to what im used to
So many people finished the game before NG+ and Ultra hard were even a thing that they don't even realize what they're missing out on.

nah i could kill a thunderjaw in around 30seconds its easy if you time it right you can take off both disc launchers with one arrow and that damages him then take one and finish him

The whole idea of fun in hunting the big daddy's like thunderjaws, rockbreakers and stormbirds is that they're a challenge you can't just blindy tackle in and shoot stuff. So... Seeing you do this makes me wonder: "Ok, now you can instagib everything in the game but... Where's the fun in that?"
I mean, i kind of get it, people wanna play games and feel powerful, and all.... but where did you put the "fun" in? :p

The cap is actually close to 60, being the highest I've ever gotten. 57% This is not an 'average' number. It's not a 'Low' number. It's not a 'common' number. Hell, you're as lucky as fuck to have 49% on anything, so to get 50%+ is absolutely good for any reason. Plus in a previous patch of the game, the highest recorded as around 70. If 50 is the cap, then my 57 is Limit-Broken. If 57 isn't possible to have on this patch, explain how I got it pre-patch before the nerfs. If 57 is below the cap, then I'm afraid I checkmate everything here.

Mate == I only picked up the game after the nerfs hit. I wouldn't begin to have a Base-Game cap of 105% Tear, so don't think a scrub like me on their 8th NG+UH farm is anything special to get a 57% only once in any playthrough, while others still average 50's and 55's off pure RNG. Even then...

You don't need to farm for purple mods, play through the game normally and you'll get plenty of purple mods!
