Thunderjaws are actually kinda easy to kill when prepared. With rockbreakers you just got to be patient and keep rolling away from them. The most annoying to fight for me is probably the stormbird, it being in the sky is super annoying and sometimes I can’t even hit it because of how far up it is; it’s lightning balls are also very annoying 😃 but the most costly machine to fight is probably fireclaws.
I remembered i was clearing a corrupted ground where you have to kill 2 corrupted RockBreakers when there was a Behemoth accompanied with a long leg doing a perimeter route and a snapmaw just chilling in the water..i was in a small cliff across where the snapmaw was, apparently they all don't like each other and it went all royal rumble, i was just shooting arrows at them from the small cliff.. one of the most amazing scenarios i've encountered... Guess who almost won though...
For me, the Stormbird is strongest. It's the only machine I can't beat consistently in Ultra Hard, because you luck up the hole fight, get stuck in the terrain and then die to it's shock cannon.
Still remember the time I encountered my first Thunderjaw. I was very low level at that time so I got absolutely wrecked by that thing. But at the end of the game, taking down even the the most dangerous of machines feels like it’s a piece of cake. Insanely hyped for the HFW!!!!⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️🔥🔥🔥🔥
Scorchers, stormbirds and rockbreakers gave me the most trouble, but, by far, scorchers are the most pain in the ass, fast and hits hard as hell, the daemoniac version is a nightmare
I found the Deathbringer and the Thunderjaw to be the toughest machines to take down for me. As for Rockbreakers, I find it easier to take them down from a height like a cliff or a plateau, although it may take a while to kill them. I haven't gotten to the DLC machines yet, but they do look like a damn challenge.
I was low on ammo and I struggled so bad. My trick to beat them was to hide in the entrance and throw arrows at the guys until they all had been defeated and then I did the same with the deathbringer until I had ran out. After that I just wished to defeat them
when I first encountered the fireclaw, I had troubles killing it. not because of the fact that it was on hard difficulty no, I had barely any wire for precision arrows. It really annoyed me but when I defeeated it I was relieved. Until I realized I had to kill 6 more of them.
all of them have special ways to take down, but long legs are PAIN, and also corruptors when you are low level at the begining of the game. thunderjaws and stormbirds can be taken down easily with ropecasters, long legs run very fast and they throw aoe attacks and big ranged attacks you almost can't escape
Yes the rockbreakers are so OP. Had a mission in Forbidden West where the boss was this guy and hated so much just his aggression and always popping out exactly where you are.
This game is the first one that made me feel old. The larger machines are hard enough, but when they throw like 10 machines at you at the same time it gets frustrating fast for me. How the hell do people have time to switch to the appropriate weapons for each beast while fighting off 10 different machines at once?
Those are easy to take out. There's a river bed. Stand on the other side. Their AI won't let them cross it, even under it. Since they're corrupted, shoot them with fire arrows and let them burn.
Tearing off weapons and such really makes fights easier. You can disable weapons, prevent rockbreakers from going under, remove the stalkers cloak generator, etc.
Here's some tips 1, Always aim for weak spots, they'll one shot most small machines and most medium machines 2, sealth kill every small and medium machines you see, you'll get easy exp and resources 3, the first town you go to after leaving the sacred lands has a vendor who sells the third best bows (lodge bows are the second best, the frozen wilds banuk bows are the best) , so save up your shards and buy the shadow bows first instead of the lower quality ones
@@VergilTheLegendaryDarkSlayer yeah thanks. Nearly 30 hours in with it and I already do two out of three with those. Tbh I should set traps more really it's just not my style though. Might have a go with the ropecaster but depending on who are what it is I'd honestly rather just either stealth kill or use a strong bow on them. Or someone explosive and heavy on damage which is always fun.
@@jacklomas4218 don't put damage coils on the sharpshot bow, you can blast every component off a thunderjaw while hidden and they'll never agro on you If the tearblast arrow does any damage, they'll be alert from the initial damage then agro after the blast, I learnt that the hard way recently after not playing for a few months and got attacked by two thunderjaws at once
I've had this in my library for a few months. Played it a LITTLE when I first got it, then forgot about it as newer games were out I was excited to play. Picked it back up 2 days ago, lvl 56 and just now finished the main Frozen DLC. Off to more side missions! This game is awesome
Tbh the easiest of the Giant mechs are snapmaw … way easier than all on list , just burn it and boom it’s dead The most difficult is really the claw (frost/fire) it’s really a pain in the ass to deal with
The Rockbreaker is honestly quite easy once you figure it out. Dodge timing is quite easy to learn, and if you freeze it, it takes only seconds to kill if you target the exhaust vent.
Helpful tip. If you can actually knock off the Rockbreaker's claws. You stop him from digging underground entirely. Both me and my best friend did it many times.
I've played the game through 3 times. Last time on ultra hard. Personally this is my list: Fireclaw Stormbird Thunderjaw Scorcher Frostclaw Rockbreaker Longlegs Stalker Deathbringer Snapmaw Thunderjaws, Stalkers, Rockbreakers, and Deathbringers are pretty easy once you figure them out. And while it's not the most difficult, Longlegs are definitely the most annoying enemy in the game. Second being Scorchers. That said...fuck Fireclaws and Stormbirds. The only two that still truly intimidate me. I'll fight a Stormbird, but I'd rather run from a Fireclaw lol.
How? Once its guns are off its pretty tame, there are arrows specifically ro take off armor, use those and use them to shoot the big middle opening on its side, once both guns are empty only a few shots from any weapon will end it
One specific machine - the Fireclaw in the cauldron. I'm a good player, but that creature smoked me quite a few times before I got the hang of it. Later on I started using the ropecaster and that made it much easier.
Took me 23 tries before I took down my first death bringer I had a bad habit of not using my more protective stuff and used my stealth clothing/amour And never used my special arrows 🤣🤣 thank god I finally learned my lesson
Rock breaker for me… I was wondering the map a little too early and jumped into the mine area not knowing what I was encountering. One health jar, half a green bar and some grit and determination later… I FINALLY beat it but yea… the rest of the battles since I prepare for. Haha. I’m about to tackle the final fight I think. Almost done.
The RockBreaker definitely my top most dangerous annoying machine to deal with, the fact it can hide underground and strike you below, & its fast & can barely dodge it while it's attacking you..
Honestly the thunderjaw isn't super hard to take down once you know where all its weak points are. Get rid of the disc launchers and the ravager type face guns and really it's only able to charge at you and shoot the lasers out of its mouth which are pretty easy to dodge given you aren't backed into a corner. For me I hate fighting scorchers because they're just so fast. Rockbreakers and stormbirds are also pretty tough because they're also both pretty fast and can also be hard to hit in the first place since they can go underground/fly. And while they're not hard to take down, I freaking HATE glinthawks. They're so annoying! I liked fighting the frostclaws during the trial with Aratak more than any encounter i've had with a glinthawk lol.
For scorchers, keep your distance. Take the fire potion first before engaging. Try to take out the pack at the back of scorchers first, preferably at distance. Instant shock elemental effect. Then take out the pack in front to prevent the floating mine attack. By then the scorchers would be wounded n u could finish them off easy.
Many of you may consider this to be a "cheap" way to win in these fights. But it works for me since im not the best gamer out there. My tactic is to use the surroundings for my advantage. Usually, most of these machines are fought in areas with lots of tall grass and/or big rocks. I run around a bit until they lose sight of me, hide in the tall grass, then proceed to sneak attack or place traps. And keep repeating that same tactic. 😅👍 Of course, i don't do that every time, just when i know the machine will kill me easily. 😅
I think the hardest base game creature is the Stormbird just because it's near impossible to hit anything important until they're grounded. Including TFW however, the Scorcher is an easy pick for the hardest enemy in the game. Just one of those things can almost one shot you with Nanoweave and anything on top of that is just hell to go against since they're so aggressive. I'm hoping Forbidden West allows you to lead hacked machines to locations around the map cause the whole override mechanic felt like a severely underutilized feature aside from occasionally hacking a mount
Rockbreakers are easy for me as it's one of my favourite machines in the game. I used to love playing around with the corrupted zone and let them have a scrap with the snapMaws nearby. After seeing Rockbreaker attacks on the snaps I then figured out its attacks and timing my dodging. Fireclaws are the hardest to defeat though for sure, it's a "WILD" Machine
Rockbreakers are so tough... I fought one with ice weapons and I had over 600 heath and still can close to death multiple times. I also had three bars of medicine from herbs and used it all up.
Rockbreakers are the hardest to engage directly; find a place to hide that they can't get to and they're real easy: freeze and damage until it's over. Fireclaws are consistently the hardest in the entire game. Truthfully, with the fully upgraded Banuk weapons, it's all easy to middling even on ultra hard; still lots of fun though. I have spent hours farming blaze with a smile on my face.
Stalkers in here just hoping no one notices them on the list cause they're easy af. The simultaneous fighting 3 frostclaws at once was BRUTAL. That one had me sweating. I also remember my first thunderjaw. It was the boss one in the cauldron and I was still pretty low level. That was tough in that tiny room till I realized I could use it's disc launcher against it
i'm in the middle of playing this & i haven't encountered half of these things. now i'm scared to continue. thanks for the tips for whenever i run across them. or run away from.
On ultra hard, thunderjaws, stormbirds, scorchers, the final deathbringer boss, and fireclaws are the top 5 for me, even with the best loot, fireclaws, and the final deathbringer boss are a living nightmare on ultra hard
I totally agree with your picks...the absolute worst one for me is that dang big stormbird. It's become easier with the ropecaster, but they still pucker my butt. The rest i just climb, baby, climb
first time I ran into a stormbird was kinda an accident and it was so frustrating. but ultimately I think the fireclaw and rockbreakers take the crown. must say, those machines look so beautiful and impressive all at once.

They are not that difficult....just use some tearblast arrows and some sling shot ammo (blast one) and it super easy to take down....the hardest one to take down is the fire claws
@@ivenpomosawmy6570 Fireclaws Aren't That Hard, Just Use Ropecaster, Tear, Frost, Shock. And Where You Need Ropecaster, Frost, Tear, Fire, Shock, Frost, Upgraded Shield Wevear Outfit And So Many Resources To Kill A Stormbird Where You Only Need 4 Weapons To Defeat Fireclaws
Stalkers. This machine is so fast. They attack the first time. But the second attack kills you. I hate this machines.
Just use tearblast arrows to take their cloaking plates off
Just freeze them. They will stay in place for a moment allowing u to hit them. Plus with damage multipliers that freeze elemental gave out, it's easier.
@@silkychan6099 It also coats them in the freeze effect, so even if you didn't destroy it they're still visible. It robs them of their mobility and makes their already fragile bodies extra vulnerable.
@@RicochetForce true, although all elementals attack would make the machine visible
I wanna see the massive titan that the deathbringer drops out of come back to life in the next game.
Fuck the Rockbreaker! That thing sucks! I'd rather deal with 3 Thunderjaws at the same time
I think this list is more popular

8-Corruptor
7-Frostclaw
6-Stormbird
5-Scorcher
4-Rockbreaker
3-Thunderjaw

There was a bug that made stormbird simply hover high and not attack you after you break it's shock gun.

For Its Stormbird The Hardest Machine To Fight Even In Forbidden West They Are King Of The Machines, Second Is Thunderjaw And 3rd Is Rockbreaker
10:21 things’ basically a T-Rex/MechaGodzilla love child
Those fire claws were hell to fight in packs
9:46 Look at Aloy's face 😅
The deathbringer. This machine is harder to kill when are at are getting higher. And they always made me die a lot of times. With also the bad guys.
I was low on ammo and I struggled so bad. My trick to beat them was to hide in the entrance and throw arrows at the guys until they all had been defeated and then I did the same with the deathbringer until I had ran out. After that I just wished to defeat them
Not gonna lie, I did love this Game, but some of these machines really pissed me off. Hopefully the sequel has more manageable gameplay.
when I first encountered the fireclaw, I had troubles killing it. not because of the fact that it was on hard difficulty no, I had barely any wire for precision arrows. It really annoyed me but when I defeeated it I was relieved. Until I realized I had to kill 6 more of them.
4:55 Press ''F'' to pay respects
The way your tone changes when explaining the machines strength and og weapons is legit af
all of them have special ways to take down, but long legs are PAIN, and also corruptors when you are low level at the begining of the game. thunderjaws and stormbirds can be taken down easily with ropecasters, long legs run very fast and they throw aoe attacks and big ranged attacks you almost can't escape
One of my greatest games I played! The amazing story, beautiful graphics, awesome gameplay! This game will be nostalgic about my tweenies !
The Thunderjaws were my personal favorite because of the disc launchers that you could use against them.
The two corrupted Rockbreakers should be on all the spots. That fight makes all the horror movies I have seen look like cartoons.
Those are easy to take out. There's a river bed. Stand on the other side. Their AI won't let them cross it, even under it. Since they're corrupted, shoot them with fire arrows and let them burn.

"The cobra chicken..." xD
Oh my, that's a new one! xD
The best thing i ever did to myself was playing this game on story mode
Bro that's the only mode 💀💀
That scream from the shamans in the beginning of the frozen wilds gives me chills
Tearing off weapons and such really makes fights easier. You can disable weapons, prevent rockbreakers from going under, remove the stalkers cloak generator, etc.
Can't wait to play this game at some point. Tbh I'd probably feel a bit guilty killing the robo animals. Honestly the designs are gorgeous.
Don't worry. They all try to kill you on site, so you shouldn't feel to bad about it.
Lol, yeah, they're quite impressive.😊
Here's some tips
1, Always aim for weak spots, they'll one shot most small machines and most medium machines
2, sealth kill every small and medium machines you see, you'll get easy exp and resources
3, the first town you go to after leaving the sacred lands has a vendor who sells the third best bows (lodge bows are the second best, the frozen wilds banuk bows are the best) , so save up your shards and buy the shadow bows first instead of the lower quality ones
@@jacklomas4218 don't put damage coils on the sharpshot bow, you can blast every component off a thunderjaw while hidden and they'll never agro on you
If the tearblast arrow does any damage, they'll be alert from the initial damage then agro after the blast, I learnt that the hard way recently after not playing for a few months and got attacked by two thunderjaws at once
I've had this in my library for a few months. Played it a LITTLE when I first got it, then forgot about it as newer games were out I was excited to play.
Picked it back up 2 days ago, lvl 56 and just now finished the main Frozen DLC. Off to more side missions!
This game is awesome
I suppose you are aware that a sequel is coming out Friday.

I love that you called them "Graboids" I called it that!
I’m surprised someone actually made a video recently about this game
0:02 I hope to deal with this kind of machine in forbidden west
Well well well
Spoilers that went too far:
Tbh the easiest of the Giant mechs are snapmaw … way easier than all on list , just burn it and boom it’s dead
The most difficult is really the claw (frost/fire) it’s really a pain in the ass to deal with
The Rockbreaker is honestly quite easy once you figure it out. Dodge timing is quite easy to learn, and if you freeze it, it takes only seconds to kill if you target the exhaust vent.
Storm bird was by far most challenging for me since I didn’t even have the right weapons to fight it during the campaign
I find glinthawks harder, it's so damn easy to miss their small boxes
Helpful tip. If you can actually knock off the Rockbreaker's claws. You stop him from digging underground entirely. Both me and my best friend did it many times.
They dont cause me game overs, they cause me to go rampage on my bedroom
I've played the game through 3 times. Last time on ultra hard. Personally this is my list:
Fireclaw
Stormbird
Thunderjaw
Scorcher
Frostclaw
Rockbreaker
Longlegs
Stalker
Deathbringer
Snapmaw
Thunderjaws, Stalkers, Rockbreakers, and Deathbringers are pretty easy once you figure them out.
Thunderjaw. It took me 3 hours to kill this machine.
Yeah it’s brutal
It even took me 5 days to kill it.
How? Once its guns are off its pretty tame, there are arrows specifically ro take off armor, use those and use them to shoot the big middle opening on its side, once both guns are empty only a few shots from any weapon will end it
I started to see it's sequence. I was starting to adapt on killing it.
One specific machine - the Fireclaw in the cauldron. I'm a good player, but that creature smoked me quite a few times before I got the hang of it.
Later on I started using the ropecaster and that made it much easier.
Took me 23 tries before I took down my first death bringer
I had a bad habit of not using my more protective stuff and used my stealth clothing/amour
And never used my special arrows 🤣🤣 thank god I finally learned my lesson
Rock breaker for me… I was wondering the map a little too early and jumped into the mine area not knowing what I was encountering. One health jar, half a green bar and some grit and determination later… I FINALLY beat it but yea… the rest of the battles since I prepare for. Haha. I’m about to tackle the final fight I think. Almost done.
Super tough :)))))
That corrupt zone with the two rockbreakers still gives me nightmares 😅
The stormbird is so difficult to me also, thanks for the ropecaster tip tho
The RockBreaker definitely my top most dangerous annoying machine to deal with, the fact it can hide underground and strike you below, & its fast & can barely dodge it while it's attacking you..
Aaaaah. Not This machine. Fireclaw. This machine it took me a long time kill 3 machines.
This game is genuinely a masterpiece.
10:00 Mojo here turned into Dr. Evil from Austin Powers the way he said “freaken laser beams”.😂
Love this game, it's my favorite and can't wait for Forbidden West. The scorcher was a pain to deal with and is the only one I try to avoid
Stalkers for me when I first started playing used to be hard but they are deathly alergic to electricity, it actually makes it easy to kill them.
longlegs being on the same list as fireclaws is utterly insane
Rockbreakers are easy for me as it's one of my favourite machines in the game. I used to love playing around with the corrupted zone and let them have a scrap with the snapMaws nearby. After seeing Rockbreaker attacks on the snaps I then figured out its attacks and timing my dodging. Fireclaws are the hardest to defeat though for sure, it's a "WILD" Machine
Rockbreakers are so tough... I fought one with ice weapons and I had over 600 heath and still can close to death multiple times. I also had three bars of medicine from herbs and used it all up.
The deathbringers were the most challenging for me. I found myself stuck at those parts for days.
I almost forgot about that
Try a fireclaw lol
@@patrick._.betaman had less issues with them than I did the deathbringers.
@@bradkohl99 really? Dude deathbringers were one of the easiest bosses, imo the demonic fireclaw at the end of frozen wilds was a pain in the ass
Fire arrows to force them to open up the weak points. Max damage icerail sniper shot the exposed weak points.
I remember the first few hours of the game I was like "are the robot ponys the only things I have to fight?"
No matter how many machines you face, the Thunderjaw is one of the greatest challenge for a boss fight.
Stalkers in here just hoping no one notices them on the list cause they're easy af. The simultaneous fighting 3 frostclaws at once was BRUTAL. That one had me sweating. I also remember my first thunderjaw. It was the boss one in the cauldron and I was still pretty low level. That was tough in that tiny room till I realized I could use it's disc launcher against it
what weapon is used at the 3:00 mark? it looks like some form of explosive crossbow?
That's the tripcaster
The groundbreaker was the bane of my existence.
Ever time I got in one shot, it goes underground
I dont know which one is hardest but finding their weak spot is challenging at the same so entertaining.
Daemonic scorchers and fireclaws they're so aggressive and have so much health.
i'm in the middle of playing this & i haven't encountered half of these things. now i'm scared to continue. thanks for the tips for whenever i run across them. or run away from.
And I'm so hyped for forbidden west next month
On ultra hard, thunderjaws, stormbirds, scorchers, the final deathbringer boss, and fireclaws are the top 5 for me, even with the best loot, fireclaws, and the final deathbringer boss are a living nightmare on ultra hard
I totally agree with your picks...the absolute worst one for me is that dang big stormbird. It's become easier with the ropecaster, but they still pucker my butt. The rest i just climb, baby, climb
At first i feared longlegs and tramplers. Now they are just easy wasy to get echo shell and wires respectively. Really a piece of cake
The snapmaws. I don't even want to get next to them. Oh hell no. This machine needs a lot of distance. I don't want them into a group. No thank you.
I never saw a fire claw! This is making me feel like I need to replay the game
Its a dlc machine
first time I ran into a stormbird was kinda an accident and it was so frustrating.
but ultimately I think the fireclaw and rockbreakers take the crown.
must say, those machines look so beautiful and impressive all at once.
