Laguna is the second track im trying to learn (been sim racing for fun/ passive learning, got serious recently). You got my average from 1:52 to 1:44 and my pb from 1:47.6 to a 1:42.4. big thanks! Took about 100 laps and a couple rewatches, but its a huge leap for me. Seriously, thank you! I hope you keep this up with other tracks, your format works well for transfering your knowledge.
My favorite leguna Seca gr86 track guide. I love how you show multiple views and go over each corner multiple times. I found this circuit to be really hard to nail with the gr86. I'm still at an optimal lap of 1:42, with an average lap of 1:45, got a long way to go.
Thnx for this video.. This weekend we will race in the Screen2Speed Wintercup and the time trial is on now. Thanks to this video I already found 8 tenths and I still have to learn the second part of the track regarding your hints, from Rahal Straight to finish.
@@GroovedSlick I have a question though. Turn 1 we come in super sharp and brake hard, but most other people I race against come in wider and often don't see me almost dive bombing them. I caused 2 incidents in a race on the same corner trying to overtake. This inside narrow line is faster but how can I do it safely when theres a train of cars from the outside?
thankyou for the guide, it is such a valuable lesson for meh sim racing guy like me. Would love to see more guide with this format coming! you are really good at explaining things
Definitely feel the struggle with brake input and steering on this track to really nail a fast time. Only a month into Iracing. Great guide, definitely still need to work on my brake and steering input upsetting the car way too much. This is definitely something you could add into your commentary about what kind of inputs you are aiming for on the brakes and steering. I noticed you mentioned it quite well when lifting off accelerator etc.
Being comfortable on the brakes is a skill that took me months (if not years) to properly learn and build into my subconscious. Its totally normal to not feel totally comfortable if you're just a month in. Basically I treat my steering wheel and brake pedal as if they are connected. For any amount my steering moves off center I have to release my brake pedal by the same amount. I have talked about this a good amount in previous guides so to keep repeating myself too much I didn't cover it much in this one. I'll be sure to focus a bit more on it in the future though! 🤙
I love how informative this is all the way through. One question tho. How are you getting away with not getting your lap invalidated on the exit of the last corner? For me it gives me an offtrack when i'm even less off than you were.
its actually kinda hard to get an off track there, you can use the whole exit kerb and the whole green thing. Only giving me an off track if i go way over and put a tyre on the dirt. Watch your replays to see where are you positioning your car, cockpit view can be misleading
Great video mate! You earned a subscription! I would love to see similar lap breakdown videos from you in future! I’ll be trying to improve my time tonight!
@@GroovedSlick managed to knock a second off my time still only pulling low 1:37s. It’s one thing knowing what to do and another to actually do it hahahaha.
Yes! Unfortunately though, I live in New England now where there isn't a racetrack for about 100 miles 😢 The IMSA race is going to be so awesome, I'm so jealous.
thanks, great guide! If It's ok, I can share some constructive observations. I don't hold the truth, you can do whatever you want with it. Your voice (mic) as a lot of bass and it would be better to have the in game sound for the car. When you do your play/pause we can very much hear your keyboard. Last thing, we don't need to see you driving, it's more distracting than anything else, we don't much see you since you have a VR headset. Sorry if it hurt your feelings in anyways. thanks again
I genuinely really appreciate the feedback man, thank you! You did not hurt my feelings in any way, it sounds weird but I actually really appreciate it because you took time out of your day to give feedback. I will keep that all in mind going forward. I agree that the camera facing me probably isn't helpful, so I'll probably stop doing that in a few videos 🤙

What a quick lap! Congratulations and thanks for the guide.

Excellent guide! Very informative but not over detailed, easy to digest, and not to mention, FAST
Thanks, glad it helped!

Great video. I’m a 4 year IRL racer now 4 months into sim racing. Found you video very helpful.
Thanks man, happy to help! 🤙
What are you racing irl?
@@GroovedSlick Mostly endurance racing with World Racing League. Some small local sprints in New Mexico.
@@jmb5280 that sounds awesome man
Key take away. Get HHHHHARD on the throttle.
🤣
Kings, never feel embarrassed when you get hard on the throttle. It's natural embrace it ❤
Subbed! Looking forward to more!
Perfect guide and very quick lap! Thank you 🎉

1:35? Wow, I'm struggling to make 01:40
I'm in the same boat. I can hit 1:40s pretty consistently. But never a 1:39
Same here and kinda mad about it... 4 seconds is just too much, not even optimal sectors near this type of fast. Damn.
Insane lap!
Thanks! 🤙
i don’t understand how the lap times so fast?? i’m in the top split with 4k, 5k drivers and we’re mid 1:36 how are u 35? is it all just driving?
track temp is probably warmer for you
Going down the hill into turn 1 when you apply the brakes the car will kinda shoot for the apex by itself.
What Vr headset is that I’ve been thinking about trying VR on iraicnv but my quest 3 doesn’t perform like I want it to😊
Oculus Rift S. Its on its last legs at this point 😂. I'm also looking for an alternative
@@GroovedSlick damn. Does it work better than the quest 3?
Wow, ive been running 1:40s thinking i was quick...
Feel yah - frustrating. Have you been getting quicker?
@RandaleRacing I moved since then and haven't set my rig back up yet. So I think I've slowed down now lol
@Asalee320 haha, okay. Real life first, Simracing second👍
which VR headset u use ?
