Which I was totally looking forward to, and it did happen a little bit, but it turned out to be Adam fanboying over Gavin and the Slow Mo Guys. Which was a happy little surprise. Love it.

I just did the math. 171 m/s. Put the camera on a drone and film this with a super bright laser over a long path. Foggy early morning in a giant field. The speed of light captured.
Also you could send the laser pulse into a coil of optical fiber that is somewhat stretched across the frame, to slow it's propagation across the frame substantially, both due to coiling and due to glass refractive index. Coil a kilometer or two of wire and you could get 10-20 frames of light moving across the frame (inside the coil) at 1.75 megafps. Maybe that's what he was trying to do

Words cannot describe how much enjoyment this video brought to me. Just listening to you talking with so much glee & excitement about what you have experienced. I found Gav & Dan from this and became a fan of the channel.
The video of the aluminium being machined in a scanning electron microscope was by Breaking Taps. That channel has some truly unreal shots of physically small things. To me it's like the spatial version of slow-mo. Where slow-mo is zooming in temporally, his channel often goes in spatially. So there's that one, but there's also an amazing video of him explaining the "gyro" used on modern electronics which are made on silicon using photo-lithography. He has a video looking at electronics cross sections, or making his own semi-conductors to make a solar-panel. Just awesome stuff.

Mythbusters was a programme I saw a few times, enough to know it was interesting but never really appreciated it, it was another show on one of the DIscovery channels in the UK that featured slow mo experiments that made me search on youtube for content. I found Gav & Dan from this and became a fan of the channel.
This was the good vibes we all needed today! :D Such a great conversation, I could watch 10 hours of them chatting.
2 of my favorite creators. This was wonderful, Gav. Thank you so much for sharing.
This is so cool. It’s so cool to see Smart Gavin getting to enjoy chatting with an icon.
