Ramin never left. His work on Westworld is maybe even better than on GoT.
And his shall be the Song of Ice and Fire.

Yep, the way this song opens up is absolutely something.

The glory, the tragedy, the opulence, the melancholy. Ramin Djawadi is the true composer of the Songs of Ice and Fire! Just absolutely brilliant!

Its you! Legend.
We all feel the nostalgia about it when it will be played as Aegon 3 will be chosen as King of the Andals , Royenar and First Men, Lord of Seven King kingdoms and Defender of the realm.
You know it's a Targaryen theme when you hear that electric cello! I'm calling them Valyrian Strings as of now.
Exactly what I thought!
Yo Valyrian Strings!!!
Loved that! I will borrow this expression for sure!
Exactly!
Valyrian Strings it is.
There's no tv Westeros without Ramin Djawadi. This man heavily contributed to the success of Game of Thrones & now he will do it again for House of the Dragon. All hail Ramin of House Djawadi king of the soundtrack & protector of the music 🎶

He carried the later seasons because such music increases quality of episodes
The one true heir to the throne
Breaker of noise
Yes, often overlooked with the success of such series is how flat it would all be without these sweeping scores. Ramin Djawadi's GoT score has a life of it's own, is a masterpiece.
Game of Thrones wouldn't be the same without soundtracks from Ramin Djawadi.
I got into Game of Thrones because of the opening credits lol

I can't wait to hear the series main theme because this song promises so much.
Djawadi had announced his return for HotD a long time ago
@@micajohansson1138 neither can I. It really does.
Indeed, but we haven't known that much about the composing process as we've been seeing a lot about the production in general.
Ramin Djawadi has had such a positive influence on my life. An unsung hero.
Ramin has never let us down - even across the mess that was GOT S8 - the score was magnificent. It is known.
It is known. ☺️
A game of thrones soundtrack with the keyboard. You know that just hits different always.
The Night King, Light of the Seven.. it has to be epic.
Has a Lannister vibe to it. Like Rains of Castamere then slowly transitions to the Targaryen sound. I like it. Finally Ramin Djawadi is back.
Reminds me a lot of westworld's opening theme too which he composed as well
Then Piano is so fresh and haunting
Yes, it felt so eerie, so subtle yet so parasitic at the same time
Very dark prediction if you considered what is rain of castamere is about and what it imply transitioning it into the targaryen sound. I almost thought no one else find this little nuance interesting
@@g.c.4824
Parasitic? In what way? 🤔
I am so glad Djawadi is back to grace this project with his amazing talents.
"The Prince That was promised", the real plot that was cut in GOT, is revisited here with a clear and sound testimony of this Djabadi's masterpiece. The intimacy of the first piano moments, the introduction to GOT atmosphere and Targaryen's final orchestra, shows the very soul of this composer.
They didn't mention the words 'prince that was promised' but Jon fulfilled that role on the show.
@@Regenmacher175
He fulfilled a part of it but I don't believe he fulfilled all of it. The rest of it was probably cut from the show. It will go a lot deeper and be a lot more complicated then just Jon killing Daenerys. I think Jon joining or allying with the white walkers will probably be the second part to this prophecy
the real plot that was cut from GOT was Aegon Targaryen
@@Regenmacher175 they mentioned the price that was promised to stannis and then to Dany in 7x2 when she meets Melisandre. Jon and Dany could both fulfill the prophecy. But the prophecy in its literal terms, definitely applies to Daenerys more. Especially the bleeding star part and waking dragons from stone.
@@Jasmine_U_B well, "a song of ice and fire" fits Jon more. Besides, it would make his origin meaninful. He either is the Azor Ahai or he will sit the Iron Throne. Anything else just make the oldest secret in the series and one that George takes a LOT seriously. And Azor Ahai was a warrior. Daenerys is not a warrior. A character that rises will fall and a character that falls will rise. Jon will probably rise stronger than ever in the last two books, while Daenerys will most probably suffer a lot in it.
Promise me, Rhaenyra. Promise me.
I promise you
Promise me Ned, promise me. It's like poetry it rhymes.

that's crazy how just with few instruments and a melody i have the feeling of being watching GOT again. I love GOT, but i love the music even more, thanks you Ramin Djawadi, you're a genius for me, I truly love your works.
a wonderful theme/motif that ramin has crafted for rhaenyra targaryen--beautiful, sweeping, sad, and a little touch of something ominous.
I hope this is her character theme. Might be a bit of recency bias but wow, this is one of his best ever. That melody is just beautiful.
Turns out this is House Targaryen Theme. It is used for Rhaenyra, Daemon and Viserys. Rhaenyra and Daemon have separate themes, thus this is the Targaryen Theme
@@jaremymallister9004 the targaryen theme was already introduced in the main series and was kept for this series. perhaps this is not rhaenyra’s theme, but moreover the theme of being the ruler of westeros/the king theme. and thus far, it has only played in the background of rhaenyra’s scenes or whenever she is mentioned. and ramin has not commented on what specific theme this is, so until then, everyone only holds a theory.
@@galaxywitch To be honest, I also thought that House Targaryen already had a theme of its own. However, Djawadi has said in an interview that during the track "Blood of my Blood" he has included "Daenerys's Theme" and the "Dragon Theme". All in all, Djawadi has created 5 Targaryen themes:
1) Daenerys Targaryen's Theme ("Finale")
2) Dragon Theme ("Blood of the Dragon")
3) Targaryen Legacy Theme ("A Golden Crown")
4) Targaryen Army Theme ("Casterly Rock")
5) Targaryen Love Theme ("Stay a Thousand Years")
(The tracks I listed here are tracks that include only their respective themes. Most of the tracks have 2 or 3 Targaryen themes combined.)
Furthermore, Djawadi has created a Royal Theme ("You Will Be Queen One Day"). Considering that Rhaenyra and Daemon already have their own respective themes, this melody is the House Targaryen Theme.
@@jaremymallister9004 It's the main theme. Originally this would have been used in the intro (I'm sure Ramin has that version locked up somewhere) but HBO executives decided it was best to go for recognizability. Besides not being in the intro, this is the House of the Dragon theme.
3:33 Onwards, I absolutely love this part.

At long last. The world of ice and fire welcomes you back, Ramin.
The first episode ends with this masterpiece playing in the background coupled with breathtaking cinematography and excellent dialogues

Ramirn is for me Mozart, Bach and Vivaldi combined in one person. A modern genius. What a blessing listening to his music.
best score from entire HOTD, without a doubt!
Ramin Djawadi truly delivered a masterpiece again. The piano that settles the sad atonements and the violin that follows this is truly beyond our imagination.
House of the Dragons had such a powerful start, episode 1 was a blessing (the soundtracks, the characters, the environnement, the dragons and the conflict for the throne) we can say it.
"Our Game of Thrones is back"
Fully agree, it was such a blessing, and this score is next level greatness
"From my Blood come The Prince that was Promised and his will be The song of Ice and Fire"
Turns out it was arya all along
@@Heseys.11 No. It was Jon and Danny. He brought the force to fight. What could Arya do if Jon and Dany was not on her side. Also, they are the prince and princesses not Arya.
The irony of this song, i really love how it played along with Rhaenyra as an selected heir and Daemon bonding with Caraxes. I don't know why, it was just perfect.
Mmmmm this man...he makes some of the most perfect soundtracks....what an absolutely beautiful composer. Westworld, game of thrones, and now this beauty? My ears feel pampered.
Yes, Ramin Djawadi did the music for 3 of my top favorite shows as: Game Of Thrones, Westworld, and House Of The Dragon
Even 4 for me, Person of Interest is also awesome
We've just gotten the first episode and Ramin Djawadi already gave us an amazing piece of music
By hearning this ost we can feel the the pain of both princess Rhaenyra's (loss of her mother and the new responsibility she is going to face) and prince Daemon (for losing his chance of the throne, being rejected by his brother also his loneliness).
1:12 love the hauntingly somber tone :)
I've had that tone stuck in my head for weeks 😌
I think this is my favorite part of this track. It sounds somehow familiar and I cannot figure out where I heard this before:)
Edit. Ok, maybe it is only me, but this chord progression reminded me of Rengoku's theme from demon slayer 😅

It's nothing less than a timeless classic...had me spellbound completely. Hats off to Ramin Djawadi!
I love how this soundtrack embottles both the elegance of a noble house and the mysticism of its ancient past...

I could listen to this music for hours on end just to hear 1:11 over and over again. Truly a masterpiece!
That melody is just so beautiful
I can’t wait to see how they do the title sequence/main theme
Me too
This soundtrack can be an opening for the show I can imagine it playing with images of Targaryen stuff like dragonstone, balerion and the throne perhaps although I feel it’s too calm to be an opening
I think this soundtrack is perfect as an end credits theme...
@@lordjosh01 i bet this will be played as the end of the episode kind of a epoligue/credits with an awesome montage

That clever switch to GoT sound in the last few seconds. Brilliant mind of musician!!!
Guys that freakin Cello is crying while the piano is telling a sad story. I swear i love and hate Ramin Djawadi for always taking me on a spiral of emotions. Just like this magnificent piece of music it tells a story of sadness, despair, impending doom and then of glory. Chills everytime
One of the things that makes the world of Game of Thrones / House of the Dragon so unique and brilliant is its soundtracks made by Ramin Djawadi. The music itself adds to the epicness of the show. Goosebumps.
Same with Michael Giacchino and lost. His sound suited that show so much. It was probably the first TV show I seen that had the highest quality in music
baby wake up new ramin djawadi masterpiece dropped
That final 30 seconds are just reminding me of Daenerys. The One True Queen. 😭❤️
At 3:05 is her Meereen theme
@Reevsy relax kiddo
I'm just gonna say it now, in both the books and show...I'm not a big fan of Daenerys. She's kinda boring as a character and just does and has cool things.
The people around her is why I like her story. Not Dany herself.
@Reevsy this emoji should’ve meant something? Dany’s theme is used in this tune why is it funny? Chill kiddo
Queen of the ashes
Love how the piano is dominant in the first part with the strings in the background and then the piano slowly recedes in the back and the strings dominate until all that remains is the strings and the gentle march of drums, the familiar Targaryen sound but slightly different too, expanding the universe of the dynasty. Then linking everything to GoT's main theme. There are so many layers to this one score alone, one could just analyse it for hours.
Love the elegance. The score itself paints a story - and the show hasn’t even premiered yet. Very excited for HOTD and its full OST!
Ramin Djawadi, Great Iranian-German musician, you are the king :)
Masterpiece! I've lost count on the number of times I've replayed this wonderful piece. Sorry I can't just stop.
Amazing how even not being present in hotd Daenerys still gets the most amazing soundtracks
Gorgeous. Simply gorgeous, that first episode was on the level of early GOT.
Honestly I'd even say on the level of its best episodes, reminded me of the wedding episode
Seems like Ramin felt like the Prince that was Promised is a burdened, deep and melancholic character. A quiet and majestic leader at the same time with a drop of conflicted abnegation. The music resonated with such feelings and I hope the character and scene compliments with it.
What an incredible master of the art of music, one of the very few composers that can convey emotion and carry a show/film alone.
Ramin always gives special taste to each episode, got and house of dragon are lucky to have him!
Loved the way he incorporated GoT's main theme in the ending.
The music makes every hair stand one end... Very little music these days does such a thing. Magical.
I must say I was more excited for the music than I was for the show. Ramin Djawadi is the prince of the show.

Ramin Djawadi is a legend, whatever he makes is perfection, I wish he lives a long happy life, his music relaxes me to no extent. Thank you Ramin we love you.
I love how orchestral and profound it feels when the strings drop in. Takes me back to the nerving, butterflies-in-my-stomach feeling I used to get when watching the politics and court intrigue unfold during the early seasons of GOT. Djawadi’s done it again.
I’m so happy that it was him again who made the soundtrack of House of the dragon ☺️
Ramin Djawadi has created his own style of music already. He is incredibly talented

Ramin always elevates these episodes to an entirely new level. Absolutely genius work
You know what I just recognized? All great empires of the world, both fantastic and material, have some sort of "The Dream" concept in their inception.
Aeneas first saw Rome in the dreams Juno sent him. Constantine the Great saw his city rise up and reign in a supposed dream, which inspired him in return. Even the Ottomans' founder Osman Beg saw a dream in which a tree sprout spew forth from him to cover all the world in its branches.
Naturally; hard work, talent and luck are the three consonants of a successful rulership, but let us not forget, that everything starts with the "Daring to Dream".
I'm already humming this soundtrack. Dude.... Ramin Djawadi is born for A Song of Ice and Fire world.
chills when rhaenyra said the price who was promised will be from her blood line and his song will be the song of ice and fire, i hope we get the satisfaction of these theories in the next book .

In the end Daenerys and Jon defeated the terrible Winter and made Aegon's dream come true.
Despite the controversial fate of these heroes, I like how the current creators of the House of the Dragon showed this scene between Viserys and Rhaenyra.
