I was a manager at RadioShack years ago. Your advice is mint although from my experience in electronics, I knew already what to do before I came across your video. My issue is that Xfinity does not have a signal, however neither advice had helped my issue. It says to tune channels (LG) and it says zero channels found. I'm stuck. But I really commented just to let you know you have the voice of that to read childrens books or talk somebody like me to sleep lol. You need more hype! TY!
Another 70 something year old lady thanks you! not sure how it got messed up, but unplugging(s) from cable box, then taking power from box.... worked like a charm. thank you very much
Got your previous poster beat ... 74 (not little old lady) fixed my own television this morning. Thanks so much for the video. Saved an agonizing call to Customer Service.
Thank you so much. I connect network like 20times. After so much frustration I decided to find a way on UA-cam and I saw your video. I discomnect and plug in those hdmi and power cable and it worked. Thank you so much. U cannot believe how pissed I was. I m better now. .🙏 Big Thank you . 🙏
Thank you for this video! I wish all of my repair customers could watch this first, it's much harder for me to explain it all to them on the phones! Your visuals are very helpful and your repair techniques are exactly how we walk them through it on the phones here at repair! Great job and keep up the good work! Xfinity customers, if you did this BEFORE you wait on hold to talk to me at repair, you could fix your own TV repairs 95% of the time because this is exactly what I have you do prior to sending you a signal!
This worked for me. If I remember correctly, the customer support person only mentioned that I try unplugging the HDMI from the TV side which didn't work; but when I followed the advise here and unplugged the HDMI cable from both the TV and the Cable box and plugged them back in that worked. Thanks a bunch :-)
Thank you very vert very much. TV went to no signal. Called Comcast 4 times and the computer hung up on me. We went to you tube to fix a washer code in the past. I found you for the no signal problem. It worked. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this post. I tried everything that I could think of and as simple as it was with the HDMI cord, that's all it was. I think I tried for 30 minutes to figure it out before it was fixed with your instructions within 30 seconds!!! Thank you God!!
Good tip. I unplugged the HDMI into the TV and replugged it and it immediately started working. I did go and do the same with the one on the box, just to be sure. I did not unplug the box, yet. Right now it is working and I don’t want to resort to the Jurassic Park shutdown/reboot strategy.
I wracked my brain because my mom moved her damn dresser because she dropped a remote control behind it, and her TV went blank. I tried everything... Even what you said here, cane here, went back after a coffee and a different cable just to test it out... Bam... Back on! Thanks for reaffirming what I was doing was correct.
Omg so im sick and at home from work today ( yes im really sick) no covid! So here I am staring at the no signal message wanting to just scream.. and then i found this video. Thank you!!! Omg THANK you!! 🤒😷
Thank you for this. Unplugging power and replugging did the trick. It was Christmas Day and I didn't want to try calling Xfinity, so you really saved me. :)
Damn imagine that just tryna watch tv and it don’t working and having to call xfinity on Christmas :/ that’d would’ve been annoying but good u fixed it
So true! I'm in Xfinity repair, and generally just the 30 second power unplug from the TV box does the trick! But always check the HDMI cords just to be sure they're not loose!
Thank you sir!!! No cable in living room for a few days. Unbelievable how that technique worked because I changed hdmi cord and still nothing..ill subscribe for that info. Thank you very much
Just wanted to say, I did everything you said, but still “no signal-cable box”. But I did want to say thank you for this video. I’m sure many people have had success. Obviously I have to keep digging….we had a huge T-storm here but both of my other boxes are working….all except my DVR box. So, onward I go. But again, thanks.
Thank you so much. 1st option fixed it right away. My ex-husband was the one that used to take care of this. And I felt really good being able to do it on my own with your help. Did not wanted to ask him for help.
It is mandatory to have a strong uncorrupted cable signal to the "Main Cable box" .It is trying to connect. If the signal is already split prematurely, before ending at the destination, inside the box, then some channels will produce the blue screen effect. House holds with miscellaneous accessories e.g. play stations plus more than one xfinity cable boxes can cause this blue screen. The "Main Box" has to be the main source, free from splitters and what have you. Some technicians will ignore and put the main box as to compensate as a secondary receiver. This is done because most of these Main boxes have both "old school" plus HDMI cables at the back side, just to hook up your OLD TV to new age HDMI or "other" at the back. The main box will work but guess what, blue screen on some channels will happen. I have issues with some channels but I go around it by blindly changing the channel off the blue screen and press enter. Unhook power...I prefer network...digits on
Worked. Thanks so much. For some reason the Xfinity app was missing from my apps on my Samsung TV. When I unplugged the HDMI cable from both the TV and cable box and then turned on the TV it said detecting device. I put in my zip code and the app reappeared on my app list and I was able to get signal.
Thank you so much really.. Its horrible when u can't see very well but watching u helped me learn where plugs were ( with help of flashlight 2) thank you. I thought u were Wil Weaton from star trek when i tuned in ..i think he's very handsome so its a compliment
Gonna tell you straight up THANK YOU! While into my 3rd hour of being on hold with Shaw cable, I found your tutorial. The only thing I had not tried was the HDMI on and out. Worked like a charm. My wife thinks I’m a hero! Lol
You are a lifesaver! Spent a couple hours over 2 days and once I found you it was instant fix as you said. Too stressful for an old lady :) Thank you. I've subscribed now!

Great, but everything has been tried many times. Bought 3 new cables. Went to Comcast and got a new box. Computer hdmi input works great, DVD player hdmi works. Ihave been forced to use the separate red, white, and yellow cables which actually work, but the screen size is the old standard.
PS thats a younger. Wil Weaton..lol he's actually very cool ..ha ha ha i was thinking. What the..Wil Weaton is helping me fix my tv ? Hmmm ok? Cool.👍 really again. Thank you so much
I had already tried all of your suggesions when I noticed that the blue power light on my Genie mini receiver was not lit, and it wouldn't come on after I pushed the button several times. I finally discovered that the plug had come loose from the outlet. So don't forget to check the plug! DUH!!!
70 year old lady out in UA-cam-land THANKS YOU. Somehow it got set to TV input instead of HDMI1. But you, you are a SAINT!
I'm so happy to hear that :)
Thanks. It was helpful
