Love the patterns with multiple skill levels! I'm new to crochet (started with knitting) and my biggest struggles right now are recognizing what is a stitch and keeping count, but I'm sure that will come with practice :)
Yep! It just takes a little time! 😘
I’ll be adding this to my ever growing pattern group. However, I wish you would have shown the way it looked when you finished row 3. As always, I love what you do! Keep them coming and I’ll of course keep buying yarn... 🤦🏼♀️😘🤣🤣
😂😂🥰🥰😘😘 That's a really great suggestion, we will definitely keep it in mind for our future videos! Have a wonderful weekend! ❤️❤️
Yes! I would LOVE to see videos of each section. When I try this, it starts to fan out.

Hello! I hope you are having a wonderful day! ❤️
So beautiful Chandi!
😍😍
Chandie I absolutely love all of your videos, my only problem is my knitting skills are lacking. I crochet (if say so myself) is like a “master”. So now with this crochet pattern I’m going to purchase your beautiful yarn and make this lovely shawl. Thanks
Woohoo! I'm so glad you like it! ❤️❤️
I’m having issues understanding the instructions for row 2 of section 2. Can you please make a video of this section? Thanks.
We may be able to do that! Thanks for the suggestion. 😊
Por favor poner subtítulos en español gracias haces cosas hermosas felicidades
Thank you so much! that is something we are working on!
A mi me encantan , pero en inglés no entiendo ,,ojala se pudiera en Español.Gracias.

Thank you so much! 😍😍😘😘
I love your work so much .. it's so elegant .. l want you to do more crochet projects .. l love the knitted designs you do the stitches are adorable .. l wonder if you could make them in croche .. thank a lot 😊
Thank you so much! We plan on continuing to do both knit and crochet patterns often. Some of the patterns on our site we have both knit and crochet versions (they are not the same, but they may look similar or share a similar concept). Many of them are unique to each craft because each craft is so different. I hope this helps. I wish you a lovely weekend filled with joy! ❤️
Hi Chandi, first of all, I love your videos and yarn 🧶👍 A+++
I finished the beginner section of this shawl, and now I am on row 2 of the intermediate. I'm having trouble with row two: dc forward and then DC back. Any resources you can point me towards so I can get this row going? Thanks so much 💕
Hi Kristen, thanks for your question. I'm happy to help! Unfortunately, we don't have a tutorial showing that particular stitch but I did some research and found this video which shows and explains it the way it's written in the Rene pattern. ua-cam.com/video/HA5y73y9X5U/v-deo.html
Hope this helps! Have a wonderful day! 💕
@@ExpressionFiberArts thank you so much, Chandi!! 💕
Beautiful! Can you please tell me what is the multiple of stitches. Thank you for sharing ❤️
You can find all of that information in the pattern here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/rene.html
Great looking shawl and looking forward to working on it soon, but can you recommend a brand of yarn that is more budget friendly and would result in a fluid look as the one in your tutorial. Thank you!
Any worsted weight yarn should do. ❤️
It's beautiful! If we want to make it wider than 16 in, is there a particular multiple of stitches that we need to add to the pattern?
Hey Elizabeth here is that info: The intermediate section is multiples of 2 plus 1 (3 more added for base stitch) and the advanced section is 3 plus 1 (add 2 for base chain). The beginner section is just however many stitches needed for the width.
@@ExpressionFiberArts thx tons!
@@elizabethadams3744 You are welcome!
Hi Chandi, Thank you for this beautiful pattern and easy to follow tutorial. I'd like to attempt a super wash sportweight merino for this project as a springtime gift...may I ask for any tips before I proceed? I'd be very grateful🤗have a wonderful day❤
That sounds lovely! Is there anything you are concerned about when it comes to making this project?
Ooh. Fun.
😍😍
As always, amazing shawls! Learning to read patterns not there yet. How many stiches for this one? And do we just repeat what you showed here?
Hi Carolina, thank you and I'm happy to help! First of all you can find the pattern here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/rene.html
To start off you chain 56 stitches and then the pattern is split into 3 sections. First a beginner section, followed by an intermediate one, and it's finished by the advanced section. The tutorial only covers the advanced section.
Depending on what look you're going for you can only use the advanced section for the entire shawl or follow the sections based on the instructions.
I Hope this answers your questions. Please, let me know if you have any additional questions. Have a wonderful weekend! 💙
I love how squishy the pocket stitch is.
Yes!
Hi! I don't know if it is do to your choice, but the video below this one is set to private. I'm also thinking about using this video to help me crochet a shawl for my mom so thank you!
Yes, it will be private until Friday. It will go live then. ❤️
Hi there Chandi, thank you for this gorgeous pattern!
I would like to make this with dk weight yarn. How much chains should I make in the set up row? Or is a standard with a multiple of a number of stitches if you use another weight yarn?
Thanks in advance! X
I would do everything the same. Hope this helps! 😊
What a beautiful scarf I would love to make one could you show us the steps😀
Thank you! We are planning on doing more videos showing the other parts of the scarf. ❤️
that nice ty
My pleasure! 💕
LOVE YOU😍😍😍😍😘😙
Love you too!!!! ❤️
💖
😍😍
Thx again for the tute.
But just wondering is the gorgeous cardy you're wearing here a knit or crochet pattern of yours/your team, or a bought piece? And, must also comment, great nails! 💖😊
Thank you so much! It was store bought. Though, I wish we had designed it. 🤗. Have a lovely day!
Love muffin you are so sweet, I always say turd muffin. Looks like a fun pattern
😂😂. I like that! Thanks, Laura!
Do you add any chain stitch before beginning the second row? (Coming off of your DC row?) Also, I’m unclear as to where to attach the slip stitch after the first pocket group-I understand that you skip 2 and then slip stitch, but my pocket is folding over on itself, and I don’t think that’s what it’s supposed to do? It’s a beautiful stitch-if I can master it!
Happy to help! All the instructions are included in the pattern PDF linked in the description, however, the designer (her info is included in the PDF) would be happy to assist with any technical details. Thanks!
Please tell me brand crochet hook that you are using. Thank you. The patterns and yarn that you show are soooooo beautiful..
Thank you! I use Susan Bates hooks. You can find all of the information of the equipment I use at my amazon page: www.amazon.com/shop/expressionfiberarts
Hi Chandi, I know this is an old video and I am trying to look for the video for the first and second section of the wrap but could not find it. Is their a video for the first 2 sections? Can you make a video of the entire wrap/shawl. I really really want to make this shawl to give to my friends as gift for the holidays. Thank you in advance and have a blessed day 😀
We don't currently have the beginning of the pattern filmed. We can certainly work on a video for the beginning parts, but it wouldn't be until after the holidays. Our filming schedule is pretty full. I will try to get it done. ☺️
What yarn is being using in this video? It’s gorgeous!
It is our Pearlescent Worsted Yarn. You can find it here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/categories/wool-worsted-wt-yarn.html
💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
😘💕💕
Hello Chandi! I was wondering, is the pocket stitch sorta like the waffle stitch working it multiple times in front post ?
I think it is similar to it. 😊
Thanks Chandi, the shawl is very pretty. My skill level is that of an advanced beginner, I'd like to think... I've reached section 2 of the pattern and I find that the turning chains are giving my shawl a rather uneven edge on either side. How can I rectify this? Can you tell me if I'm doing something wrong? Thanks.
Sure! I would give it a good blocking when finished to even up the edges. Here is a video showing how: blog.expressionfiberarts.com/2016/04/06/how-to-block-your-finished-knitted-and-crochet-projects/ Thanks!
ExpressionFiberArts Thanks Chandi 😊
Hola podrías poner subtítulos en español por favor gracias saludos
Thank you! If you have any way for us to do that, please let me know. ❤️
It’s free pattern and I want to try it
How do I save the pattern? Do I have to go for a purchase?
Awesome! You can find the pattern at the link in the description. Then, you follow the typical check out process, which is outlined here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/faqs/
After you have done that, the pattern will be available for download. If you create an account on the site, you will always be able to access all of the patterns you have *purchased*. I hope this helps. 😊
would I need to make any adjustments to the pattern if I use fingering weight yarn instead of worsted weight?
Candi, up to you. I would do some swatches with various hook sizes to see if you like the look you're creating before making the full item.
Hi Chandi. How many pocket clusters should you end up per row? I want make sure that my count is on. Also, for row three, where are supposed to be double crocheting into and how many stitches? I'm having difficulty seeing on this video and the yarn is very dark. Thanks so much 😊
Hi Kristen, if I'm not mistaken you should have 19 pocket clusters after row 2. After row 3 you should end up with 55 sts again so I would put a dc in ea dc of the previous row.
I hope this makes sense. 💙
Shandi, not sure if anyone has asked this already, first row is double crochet, next row is the clusters, and third double crochet. The fourth row, is it clusters again or another double crochet row?
It is a cluster row. :)
@@ExpressionFiberArts thank you!!
Me encanta este chal , pero no se ve muy bien como lo haces , ni cómo sigue después .
Muchas gracias .
Thank you! We are planning to do other sections of this shawl in future videos. : )
Hi
For the 3rd row do you double crochet in the slip stitch place as well?
Hi Michelle, thank you for your comment. No I don't thinks so because you want to have 55 dc at the end of row 3 again and adding a dc in the slipped stitches would increase the stitch count, if I'm not mistaken. I hope this makes sense and is helpful. Have a great weekend. 💕
@@ExpressionFiberArts thank you🫶🏽
Olá linda uau UAU ♥️♥️♥️
❤️❤️
I want to purchase the yarn u used for this pattern but does it come in a green?
This is what we currently have in stock. Hopefully we will be able to dye up some more soon. ❤️
Can you plz doing a crochet tutorial on the rest of the shawl I can read patterns. Plz.
We might be able to do that! Thanks for the suggestion!
Thank you so much it is easier for me because I don't understand some of the patterns and can't read much of pattern's.
And if you will please do more crochet patterns and tutorials, I don't know how to knit I only crochet, I love love love the work you do it is so beautiful and I thank you for all you do, it is a blessing to me.
God Bless you and all your family and Happy Thanksgiving.
Eu gostaria muito para eu fazer também.
You can do it! 💕
how many ball of yarn is needed to finish one shawl? i was looking through your yarn collection, the colors are amazing however the price is sky high, plus the shipping, it would cost me a small fortune to finish one shawl, is there any way i can get your yarn in ISRAEL? is there a distributor i can go to? please let me know. thank you .... love your work
We used 1100 yards of worsted weight yarn for this pattern. Unfortunately, we don't have a distributor outside of the US. We do ship worldwide. Thank you so much! 🥰
Disculpe, es muy lindo el chal, qué medidas tiene?
16 inches by 60 inches.
😮
😊😊
The cluster stitch seems very difficult to me.. when I work the row of double crochet after the row of clusters the number of stitches increases 2 stitches with each cluster, which increases the number of clusters in the next row and gives me a curved look !!!🤔🤔 can't fix it 😥😥
Sorry for the confusion! You work into the row before, not the cluster row. Thanks for checking!
beautiful, what's the hook size please?
You can find all of that information in the written pattern here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/rene.html
Tem vídeo para ajudar a gente fazer seus trabalhos.

Maybe weird comment: I hope you're doing alright! You looked kind of sad in the email pictures for this pattern (which is fine, we all go through things). Just sending some well wishes your way just in case.
That's not a weird comment, it's caring comment. ♥️
Thank you so much for your concern. It really means a lot that you are thinking of me. I am doing well, it was probably just a busy photoshoot day. I hope you have an amazing weekend. ❤️❤️
Saw my middle name in the thumbnail, and had to click. That's where the NayNay in my username comes from. It looks like a beautiful shawl.
I love it!
Vous êtes trop mignonne
💕❤️
Why didnt you just do a full tutorial from start to finish editing it properly
This is meant to be a supplemental video that accompanies the pattern. You can find the rest of the information regarding the pattern at the link in the description.

I'm not sure how to translate it. If you know how, or know of someone who can, please let me know. 😊
