I learned the hard way not to put all my reliance on freezers. We lost an entire freezer full of meat. I had planned on pulling some out and start canning, but Mother Nature had other plans and we lost power for days and that was that. I will be more purposeful on expanding the way I save food in the future. Love the things that you are getting from Israel. It is so interesting to see what another country is growing and creating.
Little Miss Bean is adorable! Yes my concern has been to can as much as I can from my freezer. It keeps longer and I can do it on my time. I hope Mr Smiths gets an elk, he deserves it!
Hello, good luck to Mr. Smith on his hunt. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the ground beef and what a beautiful sunny day. Have a wonderful evening.
I ordered a couple of shirts and can't wait till they get here. Just wanted you to know there was an article about how AR has the most lithium in the country. My first thought was they would make sure some kind of storm would come to AR like happened in NC. I'm sure you have thought of this already, but just pray you stay safe. I'm really sad I disbelieve anything I hear but it would not surprise me one bit if something happened so they could mine or take all the land. Be careful Constance. Good luck to Mr. Smith on his adventure. Sure hope he brings back some meat for your freezer.
Thank you, yes I immediately looked it up. The area where this is, is in southern Arkansas, along the Texas border - where there were a lot of wildfires and tornadoes this year. If hurricanes can happen in Appalachia, there's no telling what the powers that be could bring about.
Glad you got to spend time with your parents. Both of mine have passed away. My parents were traveling to TN from SC for a family reunion in 2009, when they had a car accident, which took my dad. In 2021, my mom was getting ready to go to Alaska with my youngest brother in February and that summer, I planned to move to SC to be with her. Unfortunately she never made it, 2 days after my brother arrived so he could fly with her, she had a heart attack and passed away. After losing electricity for 52 hours, I find myself trying to use less freezer space.
Strange. I live on the CA desert and it's 90 here also! We are used to warmer weather clear into Dec but not triple digits 2 weeks into Oct like it was last week. I'm excited for your husbands hunting trip as I was excited for my husband's 1st time when we decided to move from CA back to his home state of PA for a few years then on down to NC where he went only once before we came back. I've had deer and bear. The bear was cooked in a pit up in the PA mountains where I worked for a week at a lodge and served hundreds of hunters. I am not a meat lover, but the bear tasted like a really good slow cooker beef pot roast of which I will eat. Oh and I love hamburger dishes. Looking fwd to hearing all about his hunting trip. Have a wonderful day, Constance.
I have freeze dried ground beef and it turned out great. I also have some canned. I’m cleaning out my freezer so also this winter. Lots of berries for jam and tomatoes for sauce.
Yes. The freezer. That is my get to project after I block off part of my house for winter (house too big to heat with just me here). I'm away 14-16 hrs a day. Ps. The subscription box seems like an awesome way to help artisans from there. 😊
What a great little supervisor you have on the homestead Constance and I have got to do what you are getting ready to do with my freezer meats so good luck to us in the next few days. Happy Canning!!
I've been thinking about doing our hamburger, too. Not all of it, of course, but I've just been so exhausted lately and if I can have something that takes half the work out of things during late fall and early winter, I'm all for it. I want to do some taco and chili meat, some beef sausage, and some Italian flavored hamburger, so all I will have to do is heat it and add it into whatever dish or sauce I'm making. I want to clear up my freezer so I have room for lots of oncoming chicken.
Oh, how they grow!👧Ur lil' granddaughter has grown. The fall weather is so recharging.🍃🍂☘️🍁 I'd really appreciate it if u would add my name in ur🌙🙏I have been quite ill 🤒
This has nothing to do with this particular video but I often see you use these mini whisk and I've tried to find them but can't. Can you tell me where you get them. Thanks and I love your channel.
Thank you! :) I am guessing that it is likely my vinaigrette whisk. I use it quite a bit, as it is very handy and works great for small things. amzn.to/4eWS254

I’m looking forward to your meat-canning video. That’s something I need to learn to do.
Too cute in that wheelbarrow! Bean is precious…..
🤗💓💕💞 Bean is a excellent supervisor. Have never had elk but sounds delicious. So grateful that you were able to spend time with your parents

Look forward to your canning ground beef. I’ve done it but a refresher coarse couldn’t hurt! I need to do the same with what’s in my freezer.😘🙏🏻❤️✨
The power co-op is updating (enlarging) out township substation. Hope they transition over & not shut off during switch over.
I LOVE elk meat. It's my absolute favorite!
Magen David is also the name of the Israeli form of theRed Cross ❤

They have an apartment here on the property :)
Do you have a video on how to put up bone broth
I do have a video where I am making beef bone broth. ua-cam.com/video/Np8eyybtGpM/v-deo.html I go into more detail though in the associated website recipe: cosmopolitancornbread.com/homemade-beef-bone-broth/
@@CosmopolitanCornbread thank you
Are you making sloppy joes out of your freezer hamburger?
I will use this for pretty much any recipe that takes ground beef :)
Does your granddaughter resemble you at that age?
I have had people say that, but I think she looks more like her mom, though she does have my eye color :)
My other granddaughter seems to favor me a little though.
@@CosmopolitanCornbread I think she has your eyes. Have a blessed day!
