Fun fact: curiosity rooms, or curio rooms, were often in wealthy homeowners house, usually containing stolen goods bought from pillagers or taken by the homeowners themselves on their travels. Objects included, babies in jars, stuffed monkeys, shrunken heads, and more dead animals. These are considered some of the first museums.
Gab continues to astound me with her intelligence with these sort of games. I understand at times she gets hints from chat, but through most of it she is just really dang smart!! Beautiful game story btw
Not that I'm saying she isn't smart, but lots of time skips in this. She doesn't instantly discover everything. I imagine she got stuck several times. On top of that, it's a fairly intuitive game. Edit: Yeah, edited down from over 4 hours to just under 3 hours.
i always think this after watching her play nancy drew. i'm like "how the fuck did you figure that puzzle out so easily????" same with the hidden object games as well lol
It's funny because sometimes I think the same thing, but then other times I'm screaming at the screen like "You have to do ____!!!!" "You have to go to ___!!!" lol
I seriously love how gab plays such a mixture of games , between horror , hogs, theses kind of game to stardew the mix is amazing and I enjoy every video . I also loveeee when she reads everything she finds 😀 just really love all your vids (:
The Room VR is so good! I won't spoil it but if 'puzzles within puzzles' is your thing then oh boy. Pros: YOU CAN SIT while playing (helps a lot with motion sickness). It's fixed position only and there's a lot of comfort options that help out. Fingers crossed that you'll be able to play it. Otherwise I'm looking forward to any other title you play. 🙂
Hands down my favorite puzzle game series. I have some early onset memory issues, and figuring these intricate puzzles on my own isn't possible. But you are kind enough to play games for me. The imagination involved in not just creating one masterpiece of a game - they made 4, and they're all fantastic. Thanks Gab Cheers!!
Same here with the memory issues, which is super frustrating because I used to adore puzzles, but I have happily transferred my frustration at losing my own abilities to loving pretty much everything Gab does (minutes some of the more horror-y horror did to increased levels of anxiety and stress I have harder and harder issues effectively dealing with afterwards, so I have to learn more and more how to block them in advance)!!! I miss getting to catch the lives, but I'm just so very thankful I'm able to watch her fantastic videos (with wonderful editing, though I wouldn't mind watching the entire 4 hour vod).💜🥰💜🥰 I wish you the very best with your health and the slowest progression possible with any negatively-affective issues. 💜🤗💜
dude I just got the symbol for the null tattooed on my hand yesterday! The Room is hands down my favorite game series and it makes me soo happy to see you play it
@@ahhdomo8277 that is the question ;P Also...I shouldn't say the symbol of the Null, rather I got tattooed the most commonly seen Null glyph in the game.
I love the design for the desk, imagine having something like this. The pros would be extra security so no one could mess or steal documents or personal things. The cons when you need to write something down and need a pen from the desk you have to do all these puzzles just to get into the drawer they're all in lol.
can you imagine being a kid and someone gives you a dollhouse that big and detailed? I'd have been over the moon. I mean, probably the puzzles in this one would not be fun for a child but still.
I just finished all of the first 3 after watching over the last few days isn't this a pleasant surprise. Thanks again for doing all 4 endings in the last one. Most let's players don't do that.
Chapters in the room 4: old sins 0:57 chapter 1: the foyer 16:22 chapter 2: the study 1:12:37 chapter 3: curiosity room 1:38:05 chapter 4: the kitchen 1:49:09 chapter 5: maritime room 2:03:59 chapter 6: the garden 2:24:54 chapter 7: Japanese gallery 2:35:28 chapter 8: art studio 2:40:39 chapter 9: the attic
Was looking for nancy drew-like games and the room is part of my list to play. Im doing frogware sherlock holmes (fun&long) rn so I think ill just watch this gameplay. I always rely on gab for games that are actually up my alley. 🥰🥰
I binged this series once I saw you play it, and I love how it went from "Heeheehoohoo unique puzzle game" to "LORE. *ALL* THE LORE. CTHULU LOOKIN SHIT"
LOVE this game! I'm having a bad migraine so I needed a cozy game today, and I'm so I love with this series now! One thing I don't like is the camera movement, I wish it was more free roaming style, but with how things are interacted it might be a bit hard for that. Could just be the migraine tho giving me those issues. (Every time the screen went white I felt like I'd been flash grenades) Such a satisfying game tho! Sound design and how the puzzles just clicked were perfectly done. Will be looking for the other games now!
Nice playthrough. You did miss a couple of eater eggs, though. One is additional messages from the radio in the Maritime Room. The other is the hints you get if you wait after you obtain the Null. They give a little more insight into the player character and reveal his (code)name, Collector Hydrus.
OMG! I played The Room 4 a couple of months ago, I love all the games. But when I got to the globe, I was able to solve it but never thought to reverse the flow of the light to hit the end piece
The Room VR would definitely be awesome to watch you play. Especially after this one! Plus, the newest one takes place in London. Awesome gameplay and I'm so glad that I discovered your channel! :)
This is one of my favorites. There is also The Room VR which is also a part of the series. I love how each game gives a little snapshot of the big picture
YES! I love watching you play The Room games. Love puzzles! :D Could not click this fast enough!! Perfect evening time entertainment for me while I paint my nails.
Thank you, Gab, for another FANTASTICLY played and experienced Room game! It was fantastic, from how excited you were that the wheel of games even landed on it, despite your doubt it would be chosen, all the way through to the realization and sorrow at the very end of the imbedded dollhouses that it was indeed not only "a body" you'd seen way back at the beginning, but that it was Edward's tragic death. I loved even more your excitement and enjoyment of the final scene, because it was so freaking badass!!! 💜🥰💜 I both can and can't wait for you to play The Room 5/VR (because I understand how you stagger your games types and games, as well as how challenging VR is for you due to motion-sickness)!!! I've legit not watched anyone else play any of The Room games (and lots of others, including Nancy Drew) because I want my first exposure and experience to be through you... and if I'm REALLY LUCKY, with you and chat!!! Thank you for another fantastic experience!!! 💜🥰💜
I always feel sad about what happened to the husband cause he genuinely loves his wife but exposure to the null twisted him like it twisted the house. The Circle is truly sinister with how it collects souls.
These games always remind me of the sub machine game so used to play! There like 15 of them and they are a similar escape room style that had a story woven between each game, so freaking cool and highly recommend!
Room wasn't going to win? If I had a choice, I'd choose Room all the way. Room was what made me really love your content, it's so thoughtful and relaxing. Looking forward to when you do the VR game ^^
I just want to write something. Watching Gab vids has helped me so much through a bad foot injury. Love Gab, love foot. Hate foot too, though. So much hurts😢.
Omg definitely play Obra Dinn in the future that was probably the best gameplay experience I've had in a while! Completed in one sitting on no sleep!❤ Of course always happy to enjoy whatever content you produce though!
Thank you so much for your videos and your help playing this game and watching your videos while playing the game really helps out I can say that u are one of the best UA-camr gamer out there thank u keep it up
Just started watching this playthrough, but I'ma call it; they're both dead, trapped inside the doll house, trapped or lost looking for the null & they both died, or maybe one died & the other is lost in the search for the null? We will see.... EDIT: Well, I wasn't all wrong or all right? Great playthrough, great game design. There are some things that are simply incorrect about it, but I can use this for sure.
I have watched this game so many time but I still have not seen the next one in the series, the VR version? I hope that game is a direct sequel to this game and you either play as an agent for the Circle pursuing Abigail or you play as Abigail trying to flee from the Circle. I think the Circle has good motive to pursue her because she was exposed to the Null element and successfully escaped its madness. She could be a great asset for them and it seems like they are only missing a few Null elements based on that ending. This is still a puzzle game so maybe you will play as Abigail who finds herself trapped or exposed to the puzzles again but it is not just Manor-bound, it follows her and has infected her life since her exposure. That could be a fun gameplay. I hope they do that or we play someone trying to stop the Circle from collecting the rest of the Null.
Gabs! I think that you should play life is strange, especially true colors. i feel like you'd enjoy LiS true colors and it's really beautiful aesthetics wise and the story is pretty aswell. just a suggestion, love u a lot btw

Hey, Gabs. There are The Room-inspired games called The House of Da Vinci 1-2. You might want to add them to your game lists.
Hear hear!
And also a 3-rd part will be available this summer.
@@mr.ripley3846 Wait, really? I didn’t know that.

The Room series has such a lovely ascetic.
The ship Helena that they're talking about is the Santa Helena from the 2 game and the figure head is also from the 2 game
Also, the Ship, Temple and Tower Laboratory sites from "Room 2" all got mini-cameos in the Curiosity Room's line-tracing puzzles from the globe.
