my mom used to use Miracle Whip when we were kids. Once I finally tasted real mayo, I quickly determined that Miracle Whip has always been gross. Same experience with margarine vs butter - they used to think margarine was healthier, so that is all my mom used. Once I tasted real butter for the first time, I think I must have eaten 6 pieces of toast slathered with butter it was so good.

Margarine is healthier for your heart because it’s made of unsaturated oils where butter is saturated fat.

I used to build kitchen aid mixers. My husband and dad both still work there, and my grandfather retired from there. I have FOUR RANGING FROM A 1952 model to a 2021 employee only model. 😊
Duke’s Mayo….hands down the best. I now make my own because of all the junk that is in mayos. It’s super easy to make and you can add/alternate ingredients to flavor it the way you choose… win win!

The pancake mix is an awesome item to donate to a food pantry. No milk, eggs, etc required. If all they have is water available, they can still make pancakes.

I was raised team Miracle Whip; hubby was mayo. Long story short, we were almost vegan for 2 years. During that time, we ate the vegan mayo. I didn't care - didn't like Mayo either way. Now, no longer almost vegan, and I went back to Miracle Whip. I definitely think they changed the formula. 😮
Miracle whip in my deviled eggs, mayo on sandwiches, and in tuna or chicken salad.
Just need to compliment the editing pause on the fruit leather ingredients. So seamless!!!
I remember my mother converting a life long friend. Who was watching my mother closely as she made her potato salad, because she was following the directions and it just didn't taste like my mother's potato salad. What was she doing wrong? My mother knew right away. Had her compare the two jars. The friend never knew there was a difference between mayonnaise and salad dressing. Converted her on the spot to be team mayonnaise.
I was raised in a Miracle Whip house, too. It's definitely different than I remember as a child. It doesn't have "the tangy zip of Miracle whip" that it used to. I still think some things are better with Miracle Whip and some things taste better with Mayo though. Pasta salads, potato salad, and deviled eggs taste better with Miracle Whip in my opinion.

My husband & I just had our 48th anniversary in September. When we married he grew up in a Miracle Whip house & I grew up in a Hellmans house. Since I did all the grocery shopping then, I only bought Hellmans, so my husband reluctantly used it. Now he does most of the shopping & guess what he buys….Hellmans - YAY TEAM H!!!😊

Yes, Miracle Whip has changed. I grew up on Miracle Whip and my husband's family was mayo all the way. When his mom passed I took over making the holiday dinners. If you want that original Miracle Whip flavor add a little vinegar and sugar to your mayo. They all raved about how good the potato salad was, and I just smiled and said thank you. Because they would never eat anything but mayo. ;)
My Mom makes (made) the BEST potato salad using Miracle Whip HOWEVER, she hasn't made it in a few years, and when I was a kid (50+) years ago I HATED Miracle Whip, she put it on ALL of my School lunch sandwiches and it was OVERPOWERING but her potato salad was AWESOME. All of the Conglomerate Company's have changed SOMETHING in the Recipes. I was a HUGE fan of Knudsen's Cottage Cheese, it had a light fluffy texture...then Kraft bought it, now it's soupy and has half the flavor it once had. I like Victoria's Pasta Sauce, so Raos buy out won't bother me.

Yes but all the mayos and miracle whip too are made with mostly soybean oil (cheapest ingredients but not good for us) so the health of most name brand condiments have declined in health
Our house always had a jar of Best Foods and Miracle Whip. My grandparents house had the same. When I got married I also had both jars. For sandwiches and making potatoes salad I always used miracle whip. About 15+ years ago I started watching the food I ate. I started using mayo on my sandwiches. One day several years later I decided to try Miracle Whip again on a sandwich. It was gross. I still have it in my refrigerator but only use it for potato salad.
You named the two reasons why I left Costco and joined Sam’s
1. Card on your phone. I always forgot my card and had to stand in the damn membership line at Costco.
2. Scan and go! Yeah baby!
Oh and the order online and pick up is SO easy!
Switching to glass tuberware type containers for leftovers is one of the best decisions I've made.
I got the same Charcuterie boards at our Sam's Club right after Christmas for $10.00. My 1 best find to spend my Christmas money on.
I’ve been investing in the glass food storage. I love them.
Scan and Go is life changing! You can use it at thr gas pump too. But my favorite tip, I use it for the cafe. I can be shopping and all of a sudden my son wants churro, I can order it, pay with scan and go, and he runs up and picks up his order!

The least expensive price I've ever seen on a KitchenAid mixer was the free one I got from my family.
That is a crazy good price for the Kitchen Aide mixer! Thats the "deluxe" one, you can buy the extra accessories you want, but the 5.5qt bowl and the lift bowl one is top tier.

For years I've made my macaroni salad using Miracle Whip and I've wondered if they changed the recipe because the macaroni salad has just not tasted the same as it did in the past. I'm glad you brought this topic up and others have noticed it as well. 😀

My kids gave me a Farberware stand mixer last year for Christmas, they found it for $99 at Walmart and came with the hook, whisk, and paddle. It works GREAT! It has a spot for the attachments on the front but I don't know if they actually have those or not. Even if they don't make all the fancy attachments that I'll probably never use anyway, it's a great machine and doesn't kill the wallet like the KitchenAid!

We've been using those glass containers for years and LOVE them! We store all our leftovers in there, they stack nicely in the fridge and you can reheat your food in them in the microwave. We loved them so much that we bought another set.
I was RAISED on Miracle Whip! My husband was raised on mayo. I realized how much I loved mayo when when I tried it on a sandwich, BUT, I STILL love Miracle whip in my tuna salad!

I grew up in a both Miracle Whip and mayonnaise household because my mom liked one, and my dad liked the other. These days I like them both depending on the sandwich.
I feel the same way about raisins, but not in food. Except Raisin Bran. Ya kinda need them there.😊
I love the Sam’s Club glass storage containers. I bought a set for my household over two years ago and we use them everyday; they still look and feel brand new. Great quality and keep your food fresh.

I was team mayo, but now I usually just use the members mark spinach artichoke dip as a condiment instead. A little goes a long way and when I put weird things in my sandwich (like sliced zucchini) it compliments it.
I had to get really creative with my food recently because of medical issues. lol.

I am team mayo, my favorite is the olive oil Mayo by Kraft. My husband likes Miracle Whip which I think is gross ! So yes we always have a jar of each in the fridge !
Miracle Whip has always been gross. ❤ You can add pickle juice, yoghurt/sour cream, herbs, and a bit of sugar and mustard to mayo, then you have great flavour. You can also leave the dairy out, just pimp your mayo.
Fleetly agree with you on your stance on the raisins. I grew up in a mayo/miracle whip mixed house. To this day, I only use miracle whip for broccoli salad, everything else I use Hellmann’s.

100% on the pancake mix, ten pounds for 7.98, funny enough I already have it in my cart for a ick up tomorrow as I am watching. You can also use it to make waffles (Not sure if you mentioned that). It is really good tasting.

Sam's Club has a giant bag of walnuts, for only $8, that is such a good deal. Also, their giant boxes of Stevia, for $16, are a good deal too. Although, the Stevia, was only $12, just 2 years ago. So the price has gone up on that.
Scan and go along with free shipping and curbside pickup has made me a Sam’s Plus girl for life. I wonder why Costco doesn’t offer those perks?

The scan n go is awesome. My husband was looking at me weird when I said okay we can go after we scanned everything. I bought the glass containers in June and I may go get some more at that price. Miracle whip growing up, Mayo was only used for homemade Ranch dressing. I’ve tried to use Miracle whip sparingly since it’s expensive but after reading the comments I may see if I can find Dukes mayo and try it. I buy the canned chicken for my college kid at Sams. A lot of ways to prepare it and not run out to fast food places.
Dukes is really good. I'm a miracle whip girl as well. It just depends on what I'm putting it on.

I found Duke's mayo at Menards , less expensive than regular mayo or miracle whip at other stores.

I dont have a physical card because I signed up for a membership online when it was $10 for their anniversary or something. Also I LOVE scan and go. Scan and go sometimes has sales that you cant get with regular check out.

Growing up, my mom was totally team at miracle whip and my sister and I were team Mayo. So we always had two jars in the fridge. As an adult, we only have mayo in the fridge.
Miracle whip is too sweet for me. I have never liked it.
We had both growing up as well. My father preferred miracle whip and my mother preferred mayo. I liked miracle as a kid, probably because it is more sweet. My husband does not like miracle whip, and I have not touched it in years. I’m not even sure my children have had it. We are a strictly mayo house.

Miracle Whip/Mayo dilemma.... My cousin and I had that same conversation and decided that the Miracle Whip has changed. Not as thick, not as flavorful, just not as good, but ok. Some recipes just still don't taste the same without it, so I have some in my fridge. But I use some Mayo as well. Depends on the day....
All mayos have changed , read the ingredients, they are all made with soybean oil now.

Perfect timing. My son was just asking for different things to pack in his lunchbox for work, and he is picky plus no access to a microwave or refrigerator means not a lot of options LOL. One of the things he suggested was fruit snacks, so I went and looked up those fruit strips. Not available in our location but was available for shipping! Nice!

Miracle whip and mayo both have their place! I love miracle whip on a fried egg sandwich or a BLT! So dang good, oh and some for the deviled eggs too! Mayo goes on most other sandwiches, like from the deli and burgers and stuff like that. There is room in my heart for both, always! I guess because I grew up with both and can appreciate what each one has to offer 😜

I was a Miracle whip child growing up when I got my own place. I switch to Miracle whip and use that for a long time but my husband only like mayonnaise so like you we had both of the house. Eventually I got away from miracle whip and is just a mayonnaise, but my son to this day only wants miracle whip whip is 41 BTW.

Good video Christine, I grew up in a household that was mostly mayo, BUT we had Miracle Whip as well. For me it goes in phases, I have not bought or ate Miracle Whip in about five or so years. But from the sounds of things it may have changed over time. I guess I will go and get the smallest bottle I can get and try it. keep up the great work!

Mayo all the way! Kids will always gravitate toward sugar if their parents don't start them on the non sugar variety first. Even with baby food, my mom gave me veggies only before introducing meat and fruit so I didn't grow up not liking vegetables. It worked!

LOL…I was raised in a Miracle Whip home too and my husband was raised with Hellman’s Mayo. So we too, had both jars when we first married. But, because I am more prone to try something different than my husband, I tried his Helman’s and it was not too bad. So to become a more “frugal” homemaker with the need to save money, I have moved over to the Helman’s camp. I haven’t tried Miracle Whip in years and years. So, I can say if they have changed the formula or not. If I need mayo with a sweeter taste, I just add a little sugar. 😊
