    About Teresa Amabile
Teresa Amabile is a professor and director of research at Harvard Business School, and coauthor of The Progress Principle. A psychologist, Teresa studies how everyday work life can influence people and their performance. Her research encompasses creativity, productivity, innovation, and inner work life - the confluence of emotions, perceptions, and motivation that people experience as they react to events at work.
Based on research into nearly 12,000 daily diary entries from over 200 professionals inside organizations, The Progress Principle illuminates how everyday events at work can impact employee well-being and performance. Published in 2011 by Harvard Business Review Press, the book is co-authored with Amabile's husband and collaborator, Steven Kramer, Ph.D.

"You never know where your next breakthrough might be hiding. Don't forget that small wins can accumulate to big breakthroughs. But unless you occasionally look back at where you've been, it can be hard to see where you're going." Very nice. Thank you. :)

I've kept a diary, dropped it, and picked it up again. Now I am clinging to it, making it a habit before sleep each night. It is my ritual to sooth myself and recover, for the next morning's sake. If I don't write, I will forget many things: what cheers me up, what looks beautiful, what I am grateful to, what perplexes me. When I am trying to review back, I check these entries. Great method and I agree with the professor.

Amazing study, I'm going to keep a diary from now on. At least for a month :) I want to get better at creating art but I often find myself lost and hopeless. Peaks of inspiration get replaced by fear of not being good enough. After watching this video, I believe that by writing a diary and keeping track of my life this way, I could be able to eventualy solve the problem and become the person I want to be . Thank you

Though I have been keeping a journal for myself for years,I always struggle to make it a habit and be inconsistent. This video helps me understand why and the importance of tracking my small wins. I made it too painful to keep a journal and associated writing a journal with a waste of my time.
Thank you again for sharing this with us. It is one of the things that changes my life and perspective. Thank you

PS - here's how I've implemented this on a weekly basis since 2009. My friends that do the same thing tell me they like it because it's easy to start, and pretty unstructured (so, it's pretty flexible). I personally hate journaling, but I've been able to stick with this:

It is called reinforcement. Humans need convincing. Otherwise, it would just be another instagram quote you forget in the next 2 minutes.
