John Heisz - I Build It John you are such a fine craftsman. I tell you if I lived next to you you would have to serve me with a restraining order. God bless you man.
Yes Yes a hundred Times yes
I doubt that many of the commercially made table saws can cut with that amount of accuracy and consistency.
And if something gets damaged, you can fix it yourself!
Any chance you can make available the build plans for this awesome saw..?
I'm struggling to design my own..
John, Last year I bought your plans for the fence, built it and LOVE it! It took a old family saw missing a fence and not been used in nearly 30 years to being used now. I mistakenly thought why would you do another video of building a fence, wow, glad you did! I learned even more about building it. Thanks John!
i built your fence for my table saw 2 years ago and i absolutely love it. I use it close to everyday and it hasn't let me down. thank John
The heart of the tablesaw - a bespoke fence & system. Brilliant work John.
I made this fence and love it! With care in creating it, it is very consistent and precise, beating out the quality of the stock fence on my newer Craftsman contractor saw. As I mentioned in another comment, I changed the profile of the locking lever to hang vertically when unlocked and lock at horizontal. This creates a less hazardous space for people to move around when not locked in place, as well as reduces potential alignment shifts from being bumped.
I've made a couple of these fences from John's plans and I've been very happy with how well they performed. It was the best $10 I've spent on anything I've seen on youtube.
I realize this post is months old, but I have a question. I am getting ready to build this fence and have been studying the plans. I don;t see the dimension for the bottom fence part (H) where it joins to the TEE. How much overhang is needed on the handle side of the TEE??
Never mind, I found it on another page.

Amazing tool ! It must feel nice to acheive that level of perfection .
It's amazing how smoothly that saw runs. Nice work, John!
Thanks John. I just completed your fence and it has made a huge difference to my table saw's capabilities.
When you dont have a table saw fence it is a long process to measure individual rips using combination squares or callipers.
Admittedly I made some blunders along the way (I put the fence "T" on backwards).......yeah didn't read the instructions.
But despite my comic bungling I actually managed to utilise my repair abilities and produce a pretty neat version of your fence. I'm very happy with the result. Thanks again.
this and your entire workshop is amazing. I wish I had your confidence, skillset and knowledge.
Why no riving knife John ? Its really dangerous without one?
Awesome build plans. Thanks John! If only I had a table saw fence to precisely rip my material list 😔
Finally the fence of all fences! ;)
Great build John!
I made your fence about 6 months ago and still love it! I decided to replace some parts with 3/4" but still, great design. Easily locks in place and glides across the table with ease!
Hi John, I just finished my table saw fence and I love it. Once I finish it all I will post the pictures. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration.
I think this table saw is your finest work yet, impressive accuracy for a tool made completely without any automation
Fantastic as usual John, thank you! I learn something every new video build!
It just shows pure craftsmanship and the level knowledge of what you do! Fabulous!
I really like the aesthetic of this saw. The size/shape/color scheme looks really great.
Well engineered! Excellent craftsmanship! I really enjoyed this saw building series. Thank you and keep them coming.
Thanks so much. Years ago, I traded a bit of carpentry for an old Rockwell Beaver saw. It didn't come with a fence and I have been using a 2x4 with a couple C-clamps for years! Made a few modifications to your design and now I have a piece of furniture to make furniture.
I was using my old craftsman 1950s table saw and I really need to get this fence build. I bought the plans months ago.
Wow! John - THANK YOU for sharing this build. If I ever need a new fence, I’ll build this one. Keep up the great videos.
Been using this for a couple days and finally got around to fine-tuning it. Love it! Using about a 20 yr old Delta ShopMaster hand me down and the rip fence for it was terrible. Would have to break out the calipers and align it to the miter slots every single time I adjusted it. I've made a good few cuts that my 1 thou resoution calipers measure the same on both ends
Curious, all in what did the fence cost to make?
@@ericlyons6251 3/4” plywood is about $65 a sheet.
Wow what a great table saw build, and fence. Years ago I built that same style fence out of steel for my saw it is one of the best additions to my saw I have ever made. I really appreciate these
videos you've made of this saw. God has given you a great ability to build stuff and instruct it, with clarity . The addition of that measuring tape strip you put on the saw is great, however as a creature of habit of an old carpenter I still use the measure fence to Blade method. Please keep on building and talking about stuff I really like it. Thank you
Extremely nice build John! Thanks for doing what you do!
John this build is gorgeous. I'm so impressed with the accuracy of the cut thickness. The alignment of the blade, trunion, and bearing surfaces are impressive. $4,500 labor of love!
im loving it,especially how smooth it glides ,just perfect
I have the Triton TWX7CS001 Contractors Saw in their portable TWX7 Workcentre as I need to be able to fold the saw up out of the way in my minuscule workshop but the fence on it is absolute garbage. It has to be adjusted from both ends of the saw and uses 4 clamps to hold it in place, all of which make it very prone to errors & slow to use. So I have just completed building John's fence from his plans and it is absolutely brilliant. It actually make the saw finally usable. Thanks John.
I also experience the same pain with my Triton Workcentre 2000. I think I'm going to attempt to make one as well...
Great video John and yet again with one off you videos give me loads off inspiration and things I can add to my build 👍🏻
The different materials complement the killer design. The addition of the fence brought it together. Beautiful work
Thanks for sharing. I bought an old Craftsman table saw at a garage sale and it needs some upgrades. This will provide a great start.
Amazing job on the fence and table saw John, and as usual your video is enjoyable, informative, and pleasing to watch! Well done all around! 😃👌🏻👍🏻👊🏻
I had seen this video a while ago thinking that it would be neat project to try but had my doubts about how solid and accurate it would be. Well my fence on my saw broke and I thought I would give it a try..........plans were very good and the result.........very impressed with the design and performance of this fence. John....you have done a great job on this and I want to commend you on your plans as they were very well done!
Congratulations! This saw is my favorite.
I just bought the plans for the fence system... and I have to say, John Heisz, you sir know how to make some detailed ass plans💯 so easy to follow and build. 5 stars on my end. Keep doing your thing my dude your one of the only people on UA-cam I actually look forward to having new videos drop
Excellent build, as well as a very well edited series of videos.
Thanks! 👍
I like it, John. You've done a great job showing us old hackers how to innovate using your great skill at fabrication. That is a great table saw that will be the center of attention in your videos for a long time.
Excellent design & execution. Thanks!
the table saw turned out really nice! I wish I had the time, patience and skill to pull that off. maybe later on in life when the nest is empty. keep up the good work!
great job. A awesome job on the Table Saw and fence build.
I approve of this fence design. Been using it for years on my old craftsman table saw!
Justin Depew Do you use the same design for the rails? I also have a Craftsman and the fence is the weakest link in an otherwise great saw.
@@Assimilator702 yes I used the rail like shown in the video and plans
Excellent table saw John, I will be buying the plans for this and your other designs when my workshop build is complete.
Great Videos. Just found your stuff and becoming increasingly obsessed. Thanks so much for your content creation.
Epic build Master John! may the woodworking force be with you!
Beginner woodworker here . Bought the plans and built this fence and it totally spruced up this old Rockwell contractors saw ! Love it !
Great job John! You skills are extremely impressive!
Thank you for sharing with us.
Ahhh ... and enjoying, as here in my country today we celebrate Father's Day, I wish you all a Happy Father's Day.
The sound of that new saw while running is . . . wonderful.
Absolutely perfect this saw, great congratulations ! John heisz
Planing with your table saw. Well done!
Your thinking your work amazing really impressed on your work love it skills 🥰🥰😎😎
This saw looks so good I'm jealous.
Amazing job building the table saw!!!!!
This is impressive looking! Great job!
Great job... Always impressed with your builds
Great project, John and your shop looks great!
Thank you, John. Nothing to it if I could have you around as well; Just cut up lots of bits of wood very accurately, line them up, then glue and screw everything together with great precision, and the product is worth every bit of the effort. You have done your part well. I'll see what I can do. Wish you well. Subscribed. Australia.
I LOVE how clean your shop is.
Great work John can’t wait for the next project
I just love how you put things together so meticulously and as perfectly aligned as you can so that it becomes as precise as the used materials can possibly perform.
Take care of this baby and I hope it'll serve you many years to come and that it remains a joy to work with! Thanks for sharing!
Love that you can see the IBuildIt logo through the spinning blade. Top notch looks and execution, sir.
Wow have to say the best looking tablesaw on the net! Regards from Holland 👌🏻
John you are a complete genius. I absolutely love your videos, as a furniture maker I could never find the time to make tools for my workshop but I love to see you push the boundaries or what is possible with a few bits of plywood and a healthy dose of ingenuity. Sir, you are truly talented.
Would absolutely love to see you make a drum sander, you wouldn't be the 1st but I bet it would be an awesome project to watch and I know your approach would be unique. It's the only tool I have ever attempted to build myself and I didn't get past buying a motor and some bearings.
I just built one myself...pain in the ass 😂
Very good work, as usual... Thanks John
John, I see you’re still at! I love watching your videos because they are always exact.
The saw and new fence are beautiful.
Excelente. Parabéns pelo brilhante trabalho 🇧🇷
Travail très abouti. Impressionnant. Merci pour cette brillante démonstration de précision.
Parabéns ficou uma mesa maravilhosa show de bola
Qué inspirador!, maestro. Hiciste gran trabajo excelente, gracias a tu video por enseñanza de carpintería que estoy aprendiendo cómo no soy nivel de dios cómo tú
Thank you John.
Very very professional job! Thank u
Some of these shots look like 3D renders, that's how clean and beautiful this looks.
Not sure how I missed this for so long, but I've just bought the plans and am *very* much looking forward to replacing the garbage fence on my saw. Thanks!
Awesome build... love your choice of T-Shirt!
i like this, detail and precision table Saw,
That all turned out so well.
Mighty nice saw and fence build.
Real nice fence John. Good work. I've built your fence and really like it. Good stuff!
I made same table saw. That's very convenience. Thank you for your kindness.
Awesome saw and fence! Nice job.
Nice work. Thanks John..
Great job John keep it going
Great work on the table saw build John! i quite enjoyed it :) Thanks for sharing.👌😎JP
I built one of these from John's plans. Best $12 I ever spent. I was able to built the whole thing with a quarter sheet of plywood and a busted up tape measure. Came out great. (I do need to revisit the cam handle, but no big deal) It is 1000x better than the crap fence that came with my saw. I can actually cut straight boards off my saw.
I fell in love with the 'halt!' button!
Lovely job John, I’d never have the patience !
Great video!
Love the fence and will purchase the plans. Like the idea of a plastic bench top, I'll do a cost comparison. Like the simplicity of the hand held conversion to table saw but can't live with the idea of having a table saw without a riving knife, so I'll go the more complicated but safer route of building a lift carriage.
Excellent! Great build!
I bought the plans and built the fence. It works extremely well.
Excellent good demo 👍👍
Very nice. What a beautiful tool
Easily the best "homebuilt" tablesaw I've seen. "Professional" grade
Thanks :)
Darn straight bro
For sure, this thing looks amazing!!
Beautiful!
Looks like you just unboxed a new saw, very nice. Well done!
Thanks James :)
As always. A very very good build.
FLAWLESS JOHN, JUST LIKE ALL YOUR VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!! AMAZING WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Probably the best looking saw I've seen anywhere! A true thing of beauty! And as precise as just about saw on the market today! If my current saw ever decides to quit working, I'll definitely be building this! Thank you, John, for continuing to share your work!
Build it now before it stops working, lol.
Kip does Stuff ...Good point actually!! Lol.
