I have adaptive matrix headlights on my ten year old Audi A8. I'm amazed by the fact that new cars today don't have it, or are only soon about to get it. In my opinion it should be mandatory. It makes night driving so much safer!!
Thank you John! John I am not familiar with Matrix Adaptive Headlight feature hence my question :) Can the projected light could be switched from Left Hand Drive to Right Hand Drive? If I drive UK Tesla but want to visit EU will I be able to switch the light beam automatically with this feature OR I will still need the defuser patches for the lights when want to drive to EU?
John Ee, is the Model 3 Highland, my car doesn’t project the name Tesla on the wall. Is it available worldwide or not? I am from Romania. So is it matrix LED or is it a possible via an on going update? Thanks for the answer!
hi john.i am getting the highland soon.so would the 3 highland get matrix system or adaptive headlight system?is it the same?i am a bit confuse with the system name thank you
As far as i know, the headlights in the new Highlands are not Matrix capable... Also people have been complaining that the "old" headlights were much brighter than the mew ones! It wouldn't surprise me at all if Tesla once again had cheapened out !
FYI Teslas with Matrix lights have been able to project the word Tesla on walls during light shows for years, and it’s been the only way for north American customers to use their matrix lights in any way
Do you think Tesla will use LiDAR sensors? Many car manufacturers will be installing it soon. Due to regulation, Tesla will have a very difficult time with Autopilot in the EU.
@@heyJohnEe - I see the benefit of “bend in a curve” my BMW 5 series has had that ability for 13 years… as for the adaptive high beams - until they are better at determining an oncoming car from a reflection off a road side they are just about as good as the adaptive wipers… not very at this point.

Polestar pixel led is awesome

yup this is totally possible and done by other car manufacturers already. Tesla should have no problem automating this once you cross the borders 👍
Does my 2023 model 3 performance have matrix headlights?
Yup, it does

Tesla removed the matrix LEDs from the Highland, now they’re just adaptive headlights

You are correct, the new headlights do not have projectors bulbs like the old one
FYI Teslas with Matrix lights have been able to project the word Tesla on walls during light shows for years, and it’s been the only way for north American customers to use their matrix lights in any way
Yup, and it’s getting by much better soon! 🔥
@@heyJohnEe I cannot wait to start really using them 😄 Happy holidays btw 🎄 ⛄️ 🎁
@human-person yup 👍 and thanks! You too 💯🎄
So can the model 3 highland project Tesla on to the wall during the light show now that they updated it?
It seems not, they’ve removed the projectors but opted for reflectors again. But it seems these are adaptive
why it seems these are adaptative?@@heyJohnEe
@@heyJohnEesomeone disassemble current model 3 highland headlights?
They are adaptive, but not projecting matrix bulbs
@@heyJohnEe So fresh model means less features..
I wish I have that for my 2023 model X plaid
Just buy a new Tesla baller
Did your X get the matrix upgrade, Paul? The one with the projector bulb inside
I thought Mercedes has been using adaptive headlights in the united States for years and Audi 🤔🤔 I'm confused am I missing something
Nope, it was never enabled
Cant wait to enable them in my M3H ;) It great but still not autowhipers fix wich is sad :(
Definitely exciting!! And the wipers has seen improvement in the latest update, did you get a chance to try it?
@@heyJohnEe ah really , no i will try next time when i have a chance ;) thanks

Nope, the idea has been pushed down multiple times by Elon for cars. They still use LIDAR in other applications for their other companies
Thank you
Finally!!!
Yess!! 🙌
Who cares about the headlights being able to show Tesla on a wall… what does this mean in real application, and how will it be useful in the future
Adaptive high beams that can stay on always, bend headlights in curves, show AR on the road for directions possibly

@mattdentino6440 Tesla is known for taking their time lol
Gimme gimme gimme!
Can’t wait!
