Anyone who has seen Carlos Acosta dance on stage will know that he is a great dancer both technically and artistically. He also appears to be a well balanced human being and is an artist who makes the effort to tour to provincial theatres so that we can all see him still dancing at something approaching his best? He is the best male ballet dancer that I have seen on stage or in film and, yes, I did see Nureyev dance on stage.
its like all things physical,people think it can possibly get any better and then someone comes along and proves that it can.people thought tennis couldnt get any better then then 90's era and look at federer,same goes for rhythmic gymnastics or athletics like usain bolt .dancing will evolve and youll get great choroegraphers like kylian who take it to the next level.everyone wants to be the best so people will work to get there.what sets carlos from the rest is that he is a true artist

he looks like he struggling a bit,but thats only cause he is usually a flawless dancer .its still very very good,but have a look at his diana and acteon solo on youtube he is unreal there
Acosta has a powerful technique and certainly an amazing jump but I don't like the way he moves and expresses the music. Sometimes, in his variations he's like an athlete not a dancer. He doesn't flow. There's something very heavy about his movement and not fully extended in his dancing. There are so many great Cuban dancers but he's not in my top 10.
Everything he does is so clean and beautiful. I just can't come up with a word to describe his dancing

I agree, I saw him on stage on three occasions. I have never been so touched by a male dancer, he communicates through every gesture and expression.
why on earth are there so many negative critiques? Where have all you ballet experts come from ? I think he is superb!!
