    You added the plant and Driftwood with the little bit of bacteria on and then added water with chlorine killing the bacteria. Also the filter will 110% suck up the baby shrimp so try adding a pre filter sponge or put something over the filter intake to prevent the baby shrimp getting sucked in, also take the filter cartridge out and add some sponge or bio media to have more surface area for beneficial bacteria, as you gonna have a big bio load and those cartridges are just so the suppliers make money. Great video!!! And I am just explaining this to help out not to attack you and be a hater😉 can't wait for your next video!!!

    People like this piss me off. He obviously doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing or at least to the extent that he should. I guess his loss though. He’s wasting a tremendous amount of money by buying everything how/ where he did as well as the fact that he will probably have little to no success with any eggs actually producing with the filter he got. Ghost shrimp are also very sensitive to their environment so by him not cycling the tank, that’s going to put a ton of stress on them and the pregnant ones probably won’t do too great.

    Hi Nick, I am going to agree with some of the other posters that you may be better off getting a sponge filter for the shirmp tank. Shrimp are grazers and enjoy picking over algae and something called biofilm which grows on decaying plant matter and the surface of sponge filters. See if the pet store has almond leaves and put a couple in the tank and you will see the shrimp love to feed on them. You are also going to need more plants, two of the best for shrimp are Java moss and Guppy Grass, as they provide a lot of hiding places and feeding surfaces for baby shrimp. There are a ton of channels on shrimp care and I am sure you can find them yourself. Good Luck!

      Sadly, I didn't drip acclimate them when I first started. i didn't know it was required until I searched up "Why are my shrimp dying" and it said something about drip acclimating. Now thankfully, I only had 3 shrimp and yeah. So yeah, I put 3 in there, keep in mind I didn't drip acc them, I had 3... then sadly one passed. But other than that one, the other 2 were doing just perfect! they were molting etc. Now I've done a lot of research and I'm now starting a shrimp breeding tank.

    I've been a shrimp keeper for half a year and belong to a lot of neocaridina groups on Facebook. I can tell you that you rushed into buying shrimp and didn't do much research. The tank needs to be prepped for several months before you even put the shrimp in or else you will find that a lot of them will start to die off fast, you should of listened to your instinct about the sponge filter because those babies will not be strong enough to fight the current and will get sucked up the filter, and I will suggest to never ever put "ghost" shrimp with neocaridina or cardinia. Most pet stores call them that but in fact are whisker shrimp and they will kill everything..
    Please don't misinform followers who look up to your videos and think everything you say is right. They might just be shrimps but u also have to test the pH, temp, ammonia, nitrate, and tds, gh, & kh.. Not hard you just have to research a lot

    A lot of hobbyist and breeders talk about drip acclimating shrimp because it how sensitive they are to water changes. They say sudden changes can lead to early molting and death.

    THE SECOND YOU ADDED STORE BAGGED WATER TO YOUR NEW AQUARIUM THAT YOU FAILED TO ESTABLISH MADE ME CRINGE, YOU DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING. ESTABLISH THE TANK FIRST, LET BACTERIA WITH WITH YOUR SAND FOR A DAY, THEN TAKE THEM OUT WITH A NET, YOU JUST PUT ICH ALL IN YOUR TANK I BET. bravo

    You said you had all these fancy fish and you don't even cycle? Also ghost shrimp need brackish water to breed. And you should know better than to set up the tank and stock it on the same day.

      those shrimp are some of the heartiest little creatures out there they're basically indestructible, but yeh he didn't cycle the tank and he added water with chlorine to the tank with the plant which killed any bacteria on the plant and wood then he added to water treatment hahahaha numpty!

      True they are really hardy but if this is how he starts out then once he get more expensive shrimp they will surely die. Its going to did soon 100%. Sooner of later. Not even an opinion. They are hardy since they are those cheap ghost shrimps so it might take a while but with cherry shrimp or especially other expensive ones , you need to know your parameter : gh/kh etc. if not 100% it will die one by one.

      He didn't cycle the tank because the plant and piece of wood he put in the tank already had good bacteria on it:)
      (it's always best to cycle your tank before getting any fish for it)

    • @sydneywachtler9327
      @sydneywachtler9327 4 роки тому +2

      You can easily do a fish-in cycle. You just have to do 30-50% water changes every other day for a week or two. Test and keep your ammonia above zero but below 1ppm (beneficial bacteria requires some ammonia to colonize).

    • @sydneywachtler9327
      @sydneywachtler9327 4 роки тому +2

      Eventually your goal is to have your ammonia go back down to zero on its own without a water change.

      Highly sensitive this guy had everything wrong but sand and plants. Which they need more of.
      I suggest Java moss pearlweed duckweed anubis lava rocks sand sponge filter and a heater if your home is on the colder side 72 is about as high as I would set it if so.
      As well as letting the tank cycle properly with live plants in first there die off melt phase will be easy to clean an help cycle the tank.
      As for shrimp ghost/glass have an extra stage of growth for babies which float for 5 to 8 days so slow water flow is better for them. My guess any that did hatch got sucked into the filter anyway.
