While the anime does mention that Laws (Sylphy's father) is half elf, he only shows up twice, and you can't really get a good look at him (aside from being able to make out the elf ears and hair color). If he got as much of a spotlight in the anime as he did in the LN, you'd likely be more suspicious of his relation since you'd see him up close, seeing that his hair is the same color as Elinalise's, and while not mentioned in the LN, his eye color is probably the same too, since Sylphy has that in common with Elinalise as well.
