Balavoine always been subversive, even when he was doing a pop hit, and this song shows a bit how deep he could go to criticize his own flaws just as much as he could spit on the system.
Although it sounds deep and dark (and it is) this song was a joke to him, during a lunch pause while he was recording his album, he wrote it in one hour in a bar to mock the industry and make a musical middle finger to Eddy Barclay that was his producer despite hating him and calling him a fag0t because of his voice. Barclay was infuriated, said to Balavoine this would be his last album as it was as bad as this song, and told him as an other homophobic joke : "If you sell 100.000 records I'll blow you".
Just with this single Balavoine sold 500.000 copies, the album went Gold after 2 weeks, and he enjoyed asking Barclay in front of some witnesses that knew about their issues : "Hey Eddy, what about this blowjob you promised ?"
